    I have this plant but I didn’t know what it was until now. A friend gave me one leaf. It’s beautiful. It has blossom once at night. I have shared it with several others.

    Thank you for sharing your night-blooming cereus with us! Your video was also very instructional, showing both the night-time and morning-time states of the flower. ❤

    Beautiful! It is also called Queen Of The Night. The flower is edible. It has collagen. I have a plant and it blooms very often in a year. The flower starts to bloom at 10 p.m. onwards and will be at its peak at about 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. It is very fragrant. It will then wilt in the morning.

    Ashley, a day late, but congratulations to your son one day past his birthday. A lovely flower. Yes, it is so interesting. I'd love to be there to smell it. Amazing how it closes in the day time. Thank you for telling us about it.

      My mom has had this plant for well over forty years & it blooms sporadically, not every year. She always gets so excited every time it does bloom.

      They're edible for some people, yes! Just be careful and make sure you're not allergic. In fact, you can even make jam with this... which I'll be doing. New video coming soon! @@lydiawiryana3467

    Hi Ashley! My father had a night blooming cereus he maintained for 50 years! He passed away last year and while I couldn’t keep the plants, I was able to take several cuttings that are all doing really well! Several of the stems have grown several feet now and I’m wondering at what point I should start adding support structures for the taller stems? My Dad’s were so massive they needed a custom frame to hold them all up, but mine are still enjoying their 10” pot. Thank you!

    • @BecomeInspired
      @BecomeInspired  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My goodness, 50 years! I'm sorry for your father's loss, and I'm so happy you kept part of the plant that will live on in his memory. I put up wooden posts with little handles at the top, which I make myself. You can get creative and use any item or tool that would just keep it supported. Something shaped like a "Y" at the top of a wooden post works for me. Thanks for sharing your story!

    • @BecomeInspired

      Hi Rose! How has your watering schedule been? Sometimes, potted plants can have a tough time, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue. How much sun does it get per day?

      Your plant is magnificent! I have one and the fragrance is so beautiful! I was wondering what size pot yours is planted in? How many inches tall and about how many inches wide at the top. What country do you live in? I am in the southern usa and have never been sure if my plant should be in full Sun all day or in the shade. Your video is excellent, being able to show people every stage of growth of the flower. Thank you for sharing your information? And yes, just cut part of a leaf and it will easily grow a new plant.

      Mine looks so happy full and healthy. But it hasn’t bloomed. I’m not giving up. She’s really pretty and I was thinking about getting her new dirt but use the same pot. I have read that they like to be root bound.

    So all you have to do is simulate rain. The cactus will dry out not doing any harm then water! Like mother nature intended. It will bloom.
