    To clarify a couple of points;
    I’ve since found out that HP changed the design and the headset cannot be powered by USB C alone regardless of your computers power delivery.
    Some have pointed out my green screen area may be the cause of the tracking issues but I had my back to the wall and this isn’t a problem with other headsets.
    I stand by my comment about the FOV. It might be bigger on paper but in my side by side testing, Q2 using a VR Cover set brings the lenses closer to my eyes which results in slightly wider FOV. Let’s hope VR Cover make some kits for the G2 in the future []-)

      My guess is that it was easier to upgrade the visuals and audio than to write new code for WMRs tracking system. As far as I know other than the 2 side cameras on the headset, the tracking software provided by Microsoft is the same as the original WMR headset line. The controllers are actually a downgrade from the WMR originals, because they have gotten rid of the trackpad without adding anything new.

      @@eijmert It's not inside-out tracking in general, just this particular headset unless you find that you have a scratchy arse or like giving yourself a back massage during VR experiences.
      And Oculus's algorithms have gotten so good at this point that I have found it can accurately predict where my hands are a few seconds after they are occluded from the headset's cameras. Mike's review isn't completely honest. It's not a true apples to apples comparison since his Quest 2 comparison with the G2 has been modified with a VR Cover face plate on the Quest 2. He says he is behind the big green screen which shouldn't affect tracking but this is incorrect. If Mike turns his body around the cameras on the G2 eventually sees the green screen and has no reference point to track on to which results in bad tracking. Also, the recent Nvidia drivers are suffering from a performance stuttering bug for SteamVR.

      @@robot3rk995 Eh, I agree on the face plate thing, but people who are used to using lighthouse tracking don't turn much in VR (unless they have four lighthouses, but most people use two). You learn to use the controller to turn because you always have to be facing the lighthouses. It's how snap-turning got started, because if you don't turn your physical body when turning in VR, it can cause motion sickness.

    I'm selling my fb rift s and have preordered the G2. I'm 98% sim racing and love the rift s, having depth perception to spot the apex and distance to other cars is a huge advantage for sim racing but the limitation is the resolution. Looking at anything in mid to long distance is a pixelated mess and reminds me of playing need for speed on windows 95 :{ I can't wait for the improvement the G2 will bring and I don't care about the controllers

      @@jaz6051 just got my G2. Image is fantastic. Sound is fantastic. Have a few bugs with AMS2 crashing and flakey menus. VR settings like motion blur needs adjustments. Fitment over glasses is annoying but manageable. Controllers are no where near as good as Rift S, the lights on them are annoying to others in the room. But luckily I barely use them. Overall happy

    If you want to play a graphics intensive game on this on a pc that is a little bit weaker, can you send a lower resolution image to the headset then what is the native headset resolution?

    This is what I was afraid of, great HMD but lackluster controller.
    To me the controllers are a very important part of an immersive experience, so I don't think this is the VR saviour that reddit has been hyping it up to be.

      Tracking is really good if you have the right lightning and good Background. I´ve seen a guy Yesterday he had Problems with Tracking he had a Green Screen in the background so he removed it and Tracking got alot better. But Tracking is overall behind Quest Tracking a little.

      I had WMR odyssey and Acer and People told me that my issue was lighting or better batteries or upgrade your Bluetooth.. let me tell you that if these controllers are anything like the old ones, You will be severely disappointed. I recommend going with different controllers if you get this HMD

      Now if you need to get new controllers on top, which are gonna run about $150 minimum (just basing off Facebooks replacements, at $70 per left and per right), and then add base stations for another what, $100-$200? Well, $600 for the HP Reverb G2, $150 for set of controllers, base stations for $200, you're only $50 down from Index at that point, and since you're buying them all new, after taxes you'll have spent the same amount as the Index costs, why not buy the Valve Index and get the best controllers and the best base stations and all?

    My question is. Can you play wirelessly and watch TH-cam VR videos? Is it full VR or a mixed headset or both? If so I might get this for my HP Pavilion gaming PC that's got a i7 10700F and GTX 1660 Super. Does it support body tracking? BigScreen beta would be decent I bet. Question is. Is it better than the Elite Cosmos? And can you wear glasses? And use your own headphones? I just won a Zenith VR key so I'm hoping I can get the headset.

    Can't see it mentioned elsewhere but at at 2:02 you indicate the power supply is optional when it isn't. The headset is required to be powered as well as the USB and display port connectors. This was a revision from HP when they worked out they could enable lower persistence without affecting brightness but required the power to do so.

    Specs seem awesome but I'm still glad I got the quest 2. I haven't got the money yet to build a new pc, so it's nice being able to use it standalone. I've been using it for weeks and the controllers are still on the original included batteries
