You are so close to achieving my mother's dying wish and flying the Battle of the Canards: A dogfight *free-for-all* (everybody at once, even starts, missiles optional) featuring - at a minimum - the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, JAS39 Gripen, and SU30SM Flanker-H. May the best 'nard win.
I'm also loving the fact that most pilots of all nations are now starting to realise just how effective the Typhoon is. The developments have made the plane more and more devastating in many scenarios... It's a fabulous thing
@@F0X_two They share the same history, tho. Basically France was in the Eurofighter program, but they wanted a plane that can operate from a carrier, since France has an expeditionary force. The Germans however, who have a purely defensive army (to that point in the early 1990s), didnt want a plane that can do that. The Brits had their Harriers, so no need for a dedicated carrier aircraft. Carrier aircrafts have a tougher (and heavier) structure, so they can survive the abuse of hooking into the lines while landing. That gives them disadvantages in comparison to land based aircraft. So, after negotiations, the French left the program, but they took "inspiration" from the design of the Eurofighter. They surely did develop the Eurofighter at least for a bit before they left.
@@Gentleman...Driver Saying they took inspiration from the EF is nonsense. The EF is poorly designed in comparison. It's surprising that it could even manage to dogfight the Rafale, this thing flies like a brick at low altitude and its canards dont make sense. There is a good reason why various countries ditch the EF-2000, including the OG buyers/designers.
The rafale is better than the typhoon in a dogfight in BOTH circles. If you have seen airshow displays of both aircraft , the rafale always is preforming better, higher AOA, and better energy retention. The rafale is also lighter. The rafale without a doubt is a better dogfighter than the typhoon, but not by much.@RonJeremy514
Saw a Typhoon display recently and they're shockingly good. Extremely impressive. They're clearly very very powerful, the vertical climb is astounding.
I've rarely seen them, but they're doing training flights again at the moment. I have to say, they look more frightening than the Tornados or Phantoms we used to have. They fly very low and do scary maneuvers, and with each maneuver the air around them condenses. Really impressive.
6:40 I think the reason why you want your lift vector to be on your bandit is because the lift vector is the strongest force that your aircraft can produce and if your not turning towards your opponent directly then your extending yourself and not really chasing them as much as you should be. Though you shouldn’t be placing your lift vector all the time on them like when avoiding the bandits nose. Lift has the connotation of up, and lift is simply a force in that direction relative to the aircraft, so that lift can be pointed anywhere.
Also, the lift vector is pointing the center point where the aircraft is maneuvering around and basically you're able to do optimal higher AOA between your nose (vector) position and the lift vector, so if the opponent in that area (with optimal speed of course), you are in the best position.
Now we need to see you in the Rafale/Gripen/Flanker/F-15 vs Eurofighter to see if the Eurofighter is that dominant or if your skill level is just vastly higher than your opponent's.
just because you can operate one plane, doesn't mean you can operate them all. Every pilot would need time to learn the planes systems and strengths/weaknesses etc. first.
