This movie gives me chills. To think that our people have been doing the same things for generations is upsetting. It's a huge cycle. This has been going on for over 400 years.

Great film, very moving. I am a white ex- prison officer (UK), 20 years service in maximum security jails. My last 5 years were spent as Diversity Manager on top of my normal duties. During Black History Month each year we would facilitate a range of cultural celebrations for black prisoners. The most popular was always when we brought in the Moderator of the Black History Museum (Cambridge University) to teach black prisoners about their history - standing room only. This erasing of Black History from school curriculums is criminal !!
I had the pleasure of being a friend of Huey's daughter. Her favorite line" power to the children!" We were roommates in a program called healthy babies in Oakland.
I remember watching this movie when it came out in 95, stumbling upon a VHS copy of it in 02 while in college, and thinking that it shouldn't be that long before its on DVD. 20 years later its still not on DVD or any streaming services. Panther, along with Posse really had a big effect on me. I wish this movie had more ways of being shared.
Man why they never taught me about Huey and the black panthers when i was in school back in the day? All they wanted to teach every year from elementary to high school was Martin Luther dying, we were slaves, and that white people made America.
to keep all the good nigra folk in line. the government didn't want us know about the fed up black man and the actions they took toward liberation. just like they don't want us to know that there were dedicated white who lost their lives in the struggle for racial justice.

Personally, I like this movie, "Panther," and it shows what the meaning of the Black Panthers is all about. It is still a powerful historical drama that all people should see and learn for themselves.
Unfortunately, this is still relevant today and it both angers and saddens me that it is being ignored. However, we need unity if we're going to make it through these perilous times.
I was there during those times. Only I was n Detroit. I experienced all the atrocities that were taking place during that time. My eyes have seen it all and my heart still holds the scars.
I'm an Afro-Brazilian raised in The States for 28 years and relate to the struggles of the Natives and African Americans in North America. The biggest thing I've learned from Malcolm X in terms of living in a corrupt society where it's politically divided is.., Malcolm X teaches to never turn the other cheek in North, never turn the other cheek in the South or anywhere but carry yourself in a proud, honorable, and respectable way so not only you could have respect for yourself but for your fellow human beings.. Never give into the hate, the anger, or the violence that somebody throws in your direction.. but the same time I've learned.. that any..one.. puts their hand.. on you.., Brothers and Sisters.. you do your best to see they don't put their hand on anybody else.. again..✊🏿✊🏽🇧🇷
We Need a New Black Panther Party to fight the oppression that's going on now! Where are our young, intelligent, articulate, educated, fearless, outspoken, and love for our people at to get it started, show of hands!!!!
I wish we still had strong black leaders and organizations. BlackLivesMatters and NAACP are good too. But nothing compares to people who fought for civil rights and racial equality by any means necessary. Rip to all the fallen souls.
When this movie was made in 1995, it said there were 3 million addicts in the USA.. but go look up how many it is now in 2016.. and it's even more scary considering they don't even count prescription drugs.
+Ana Castellano Ridiculous...that doesn't make any sense....it shocked me how little people were on drugs or addicts in 1970...shouldn't it shock me how many of them are today?...

Forget the Marvel's Black Panther that you see today. Stick with this movie!! I remember watching the movie's trailer a couple of times in 1995 when I was just 10 years old. The kid riding the bike that got hit was so emotional. It makes you want to think clear, not partying or celebrating. Kadeem Hardison is the movie's character that steals the show.
power to the people...we can forgive but not forget what they did to us...jealousy because we were doing something positive for out own community. Smh i love all races but my ancestors were very strong and if we come together again we are unstoppable...
I was about to write the same thing . I saw an older black woman on the news say that when she saw that marvel panther movie, she had the same feeling inside when Barack got elected. I'm like wtf
I really enjoyed this movie. I learned a lot about how they got started & why. they were very committed to what they belived in & made a change .Very Educational & Well done. Thanks for sharing !!!
In the beginning, of the movie someone said: ' If black folks had guns we'd probably shoot each other ' everybody thought he was nuts. But nowadays, its true we do shoot each other.
A brilliant and very educational film. Its devastating to see how easy it is for 'the powers that should not be' to divide and conquer by means of governments/religions, politics, police brute force, bribery, corruption, drugs and war. Black or white we are all like pawns in a game of chess and there are evil forces playing games with us all. Whenever there is a 'movement' aimed at waking up, educating and empowering the people to fight oppression they have always moved in to crush and destroy it. The only thing they can't destroy is true unconditional love. I'm a 58 yr white female and it took me a long time to learn that drugs, alcohol, addictions, greed and envy destroys lives, we can destroy our own lives and that of others through those things. Freedom, creativity and most of all loyalty, compassion and unconditional love are the only things worth living for, fighting for and dying for. Fear gives sickness to the body, mind and soul. Hate is a cancer to the body, mind and soul. I'm not religious but I pray for peace and love to all and put out that intention. We are ONE no matter what our colour, place of birth or background, we need each other and we need to stick together. Together we are powerful divided we fall/fail. Until human kind realises that the bad we do to others will always come back on us in one form or another, no one can escape it, we all get our 'karma'. Love, compassion and respect has to start with ourselves. Sow the seeds of love, guard our thoughts as 'thoughts become things' so make them good and weed out the bad. Treat others as we would have them treat ourselves. Avoid alcohol and addictive substances especially if you are predisposed to addictive behaviour. Our bodies and minds are Gods temple only put good nutritious foods for the soul in there. Guard against brainwashing. Keep fit, keep healthy. Believe in yourselves, be kind to yourselves and to others. Collectively we are (a part of) God. Keep strong for yourselves, your families and communities. Love to you all from Wales.
BET is owned by white people they control majority of media so of course they are not going to educate you on certain things or all of the truth about the black/ moor race.

This film helped to change my life in such a real and powerful way when I first watched it back in 2008 or 2009 and I was only about 14 or 15 years old! After I watched this, I genuinely became woke in a very real way and before being "woke" was trendy. I remember getting teased and poked fun at because I was so socially conscious. Then, Trayvon Martin got murdered and that's what woke everybody up.
This goes out to all white folks who's ever had bs to say about the Black Panther Party, who's ever been MISINFORMED about their reasons for forming in the first place! Watch it and weep, whitey!!!!! LMAO :'D
Curly Crown Hey was that preacher in the first 5 minutes a pedophile? The way he said "mmm mmm mm fine.....young man" Made me think it was setup that way.
Dick Gregory is a very intellectual man, being knowledgeable of the truth is conducive to our survival.Do not be fooled.... Time has shown us that passive interjection is NOT the most effective way to conquer.
Au contraire, non-violent resistance wrested the Indian subcontinent from centuries of imperial rule. I'd say that was a pretty definitive statement of the power of Ghandi's idea and MLK rather agreed too.

I watched this as a kid and it's stuck with me ever since.
Everyone is commenting that they need to come back or the new generation needs to step up. No, WE need to bring them back. WE are all of the generations that need to step up. WE right now, have the power. The Black Panthers came about because WE decided not to wait for someone else to save US. WE have the power. We are the Power. Power to the People ✊🏾❤️🖤💚
Now all we got is street gangs who do the work for them
Bangin Hiphop&RnB Desire what work?

I didn’t know he had any kids!
I remember watching this movie when it came out in 95, stumbling upon a VHS copy of it in 02 while in college, and thinking that it shouldn't be that long before its on DVD. 20 years later its still not on DVD or any streaming services. Panther, along with Posse really had a big effect on me. I wish this movie had more ways of being shared.
it's on blu ray now
It’s been on dvd, just now that it’s long out of print though.
Oak8n da House!!!❤
Yeah Posse is a classic!
THEY DON'T TEACH YOU THIS, BECAUSE THESE ARE SYMBOLS AND PEOPLE OF STRENGTH. BLACK PEOPLE IN AMERIKKA WHO ARE WILLING TO STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES AND NOT TOLERATING OPPRESSION, THOUGH DRUGS, MONEY OR MATERIAL ITEMS. ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE !!!!
I know we should have talked about this.
Schools usually teach MLK had a dream in 1963, then he was shot in 1968. Every one of you probably knows why that is.
+WillWilsonII of course thats what i was taught and Christopher Columbus was some great explore and discovered this and that fuck Columbus
Watched this movie so many times years ago and still can't stop watching. Great to know that I can watch even more now on youtube thanks for uploading.
One the most socially conscious movie on the black prospective in 90's by far. M
You mean perspective?
Thanks Bro or Sis who ever put this movie on TH-cam may God bless you I have looked everywhere for this movie and could not find it. They even said it was out of print but the devil is a lie
I'm. BEYOND inspired with this movie. You should always fight for justice no matter what the circumstances are.

Personally, I like this movie, "Panther," and it shows what the meaning of the Black Panthers is all about. It is still a powerful historical drama that all people should see and learn for themselves.
this is one movie that will live for ever.
Preventing alethophobia from repeating itself!

My favorite quote by brother Malcolm.. Be peaceful.. be courteous.. obey the law.. but if someone put there hands on you.. send them to the cementary
This movie make you proud to be black the way they use to love each other
I’m proud to be White ✊🏻
The placed was packed at Huey's funeral. The line was wrapped around the block!
Glad that you're still here
Keep in touch, bro
My Mom In My Dad they was part of the black panther Back in the 60s in my dream is too become a black leader like Huey P Newton Legend we live on

I'm an Afro-Brazilian raised in
The States for 28 years and relate to
the struggles of the Natives and
African Americans in North America.
The biggest thing I've learned from Malcolm X in terms of living in a corrupt society where it's politically divided is..,
Malcolm X teaches to never turn the other cheek in North, never turn the other cheek in the South or anywhere but carry yourself in a proud, honorable, and respectable way so not only you could have respect for yourself but for your fellow human beings..
Never give into the hate, the anger, or the violence that somebody
throws in your direction..
but the same time I've learned..
that any..one..
puts their hand.. on you..,
Brothers and Sisters..
you do your best to see they don't put their hand on anybody else..

Black Power we the people!! this almost made me cry in class but I held it together
We need a remake of this movie..with new information about the party ✊🏿

We Need a New Black Panther Party to fight the oppression that's going on now! Where are our young, intelligent, articulate, educated, fearless, outspoken, and love for our people at to get it started, show of hands!!!!

+Stacia Cook ya'll need to get off Facebook and Join Blaqspot.com its like facebook but its owned and controlled by black people
Everyone in this movie, should have won an award's for their performances
I wish we still had strong black leaders and organizations. BlackLivesMatters and NAACP are good too. But nothing compares to people who fought for civil rights and racial equality by any means necessary. Rip to all the fallen souls.
so true sister Allah protect you.

When this movie was made in 1995, it said there were 3 million addicts in the USA.. but go look up how many it is now in 2016.. and it's even more scary considering they don't even count prescription drugs.
+Ana Castellano That is why the USA must fall.
If "white supremacy" wasn't so evil there would of hardly been any drug addicts i dont forgive none of them
+Ana Castellano Ridiculous...that doesn't make any sense....it shocked me how little people were on drugs or addicts in 1970...shouldn't it shock me how many of them are today?...

I love the original BLACK PANTHER PARTY
Indeed! There is none but One BPP! #BigUp!
@MrThuglife404 the so called new Black Panthers are nothing but a bunch of racist just like the kkk, nazi skinheads, and Aaryon Brotherhood nothing like the original and the chicago chapter of the original Black Panther's Fred Hampton started the Rainbow Coalition
Huey was like an old school Tupac. Pac also shot cops and got off
yeah he defended himself from the self-righteous police criminal hypocrite he killed them in self-defence they had it coming, I agree like Tupac he defended himself.

Shaquille Burton because he pac didn’t a revolution army that would make the cops be nervous to the point of flooding drugs in the community. The black panthers were intimidating because of the actions they committed. PAC... no so much.
Chris Rock and Bobby Brown funny as hell
So is Joe Don Baker(Inspector Brimmer)
Wow, the opening credits still give me chills
power to the people...we can forgive but not forget what they did to us...jealousy because we were doing something positive for out own community. Smh i love all races but my ancestors were very strong and if we come together again we are unstoppable...
THESE WERE THE REAL HEROS(Obviously not the actors). Not no marvel shit.
TimelineProvision TP tru
I was about to write the same thing . I saw an older black woman on the news say that when she saw that marvel panther movie, she had the same feeling inside when Barack got elected. I'm like wtf
lol...i know, these fools never learn from history....
I was just gonna say hey were is the king panther with the suit
Black Panther was inspired by the real black panther party
They should remaster this film with top level video quality
they executed these dudes because they wanted better for there community, teach there on and died for it damn shame...

The casting and the direction of the movie perfection. 💯

Who is watching in 2024? Power to the people. The Revolution will not be televised.
In the beginning, of the movie someone said: ' If black folks had guns we'd probably shoot each other ' everybody thought he was nuts. But nowadays, its true we do shoot each other.
Kevin Thanks for your honesty

***** True.
Dude she acted for Malcolm X and acted as his wife Again
Whoever played hewey is a great actor
Just started watching this movie with my blended family. Can't wait for our discussion afterwards
This movie is so sad I started crying it really opened my eyes nothing really didnt change in today society
Nothing

It's crazy how they will show roots on bet for black history month but won't show this or malcom x with Denzel shit crazy smh
BET is owned by white people they control majority of media so of course they are not going to educate you on certain things or all of the truth about the black/ moor race.
cameron harvey Yeah that's the thing people need to understand, BET got sold years ago! But we still need this stuff on TV!
Oh word I ain't got bounce though got direct TV I know what bounce is though
How can somebody not like this movie? one of the best movies that came out, but they keep stuff like this hidden, like Birth of a Nation the Nat Turner movie.☉tribe
True but believe Django Unchained is more of Nat Turner
I have been looking for this movie thx for posting ❤❤❤❤
This film helped to change my life in such a real and powerful way when I first watched it back in 2008 or 2009 and I was only about 14 or 15 years old! After I watched this, I genuinely became woke in a very real way and before being "woke" was trendy. I remember getting teased and poked fun at because I was so socially conscious. Then, Trayvon Martin got murdered and that's what woke everybody up.
I'm glad I had a mentor to show me how to love my Blackness R.I.P Miss Dorothy Turner Black Citizens Task Force.Black Power
Watch this until you absorb the truth
I agree with you. All blacks need to watch this great piece!
Mr 412 I'm white, and enjoy watching it too
I'm almost scared to watch this. Sifting through the comments is what's holding me deterring me lol
This goes out to all white folks who's ever had bs to say about the Black Panther Party, who's ever been MISINFORMED about their reasons for forming in the first place! Watch it and weep, whitey!!!!! LMAO :'D

The real black Panthers respect always !!!!!!!
