    same repetitive leaks in order to test the perfect response to "intense stress":
    fast passages
    "exaggerated" polyphony
    trigger/latency
    different settings (rotary simulation, overdrive)
    with a very old Android smartphone (Samsung J7)

      @@alan93the $100 version is actually the same written code of the latest release. It’s VB3-II. Just as Guido had a separate charge for the new version of VB3-II for the laptop PCs. VB3-II not only has rewritten code, but also has many more parameters which can be tweaked for both the organ and Leslie models. It’s $20 less than Hammond B3-x. And, quite frankly you cannot go wrong with either of these Hammond/Leslie combos. Both are absolute winners!

    Love the sound! Can you please share the actual hardware setup you are using (hopefully links) I am currently using SK2 and this looks/sounds like the beast but I am new to running things on ipads. Also what keyboard controller is that :) Great sound and Playing and that Leslie is killing!

      @marcoballa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ciao and thanks for comment!
      here everything is very simple...
      (also because I would not be able to use complex things :-) ).
      the sound comes directly from my old android smartphone (headphone jack output connected directly to the mixer). inside the smartphone there is the VB3m app (you can find the link above in the video description). sound generation is derived from the first version of the vb3 software (different from the latest releases of vb3.2 within the new Mojo Classic/Suitcase/Mojo61/GEMINI).
      the midi controller here is the Mojo Suitcase (but you can use any midi controller because vb3m has midi learn function and you can assign each single midi controller to what you need).
      with android you can feel a low latency (but, as you can see from the video, it does not prevent you from making fast passages, etc.). with iphone/ipad the latency is close to zero.
      with android just connect the midi out of the controller to the phone. in this case I used a normal usb cable (printer type) with, at the end, a one euro OTG adapter. if the master key has no usb midi output, a midi to usb adapter cable can be used, the new ones that do not require drivers (eg Prodipe, 15 euros).
      for Iphone I think you need the camera kit or something like that (I don't have an Iphone and I can't tell).
      hope this will help :-)

      Connection for this old Android smartphone:
      th-cam.com/video/bO1FLdiPA_E/w-d-xo.html
      Audio is taken from headphones stereo standard mini jack (cable with stereo mini jack at one side and Left/Right separated mono jacks on other side).
      Maybe with new smartphone models you need an adaptor.

    Although it may not sound as great as vb3-2 / the Mojo (although I never compared in-depth), I feel vb3 can still hold its own in today’s clonewheel market. Unlike some other clones from the same era.
    Also, although it is said to be exactly the same as vb3 v1.4 (or so), which I have used for years on a “v-machine”, I’d swear the app sounds slightly different / better.

    Ottimo suono, ma ti posso chiedere da dove esce il segnale audio ? Non certo dal cellulare... Puoi spiegarmi come collegare il tutto? Mille grazie!

    • @marcoballa
      @marcoballa  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ciao e grazie per il commento!
      sì, il suono esce direttamente dal cellulare, dal mini-jack stereo delle cuffie (è uno smartphone di 8 anni fa! 🙂).
      questa app da 15 euro circa trasforma lo smartphone/iphone/ipad in un expander hammond competitivo coi cloni di recente generazione!
      puoi "pilotare" la app con qualsiasi tastiera/controller midi, meglio se dotata di fader/slider da assegnare ai drawbars e di tanti pulsantini/potenziometri a cui assegnare le funzioni di percussione, chorus, overdrive, riverbero, ecc.
      la app ha funzione "midi learn" pertanto è facilissimo mappare qualsiasi controller (le dici cosa vuoi comandare, ad esempio il primo drawbar, muovi il fader sul controller esterno, fatto!).
      i controller più recenti hanno uscita midi con presa USB, pertanto è sufficiente un cavo USB (come quello per una stampante) e un piccolo convertitore USB-OTC, come si vede nell'altro mio video:
      th-cam.com/video/bO1FLdiPA_E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NjJDNQwfCspOfrXq
      con un controller che ha solo uscita midi tradizionale basta utilizzare un convertitore midi-USB (di quelli che non necessitano di driver) tipo PRODIPE MIDI USB1i/1o.
      con iphone credo sia necessario apposito accessorio per la conessione (non conosco il mondo apple)...

      @@marcoballa grazie mille. Quindi bisogna collegare il cellulare all'amplificatore tramite l'uscita cuffie?

    • @marcoballa
      @marcoballa  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      uscita cuffie, che poi sfocia in due jack mono (destra/sinistra) che puoi collegare direttamente al mixer o a un amplificatore STEREO (per goderti la ottima simulazione leslie interna).
      oppure, se lo colleghi a un leslie vero (tramite preamp/adattatore) basta una delle due uscite (destra o sinistra, è uguale) dopo aver disattivato la simulazione leslie interna 👍

      @@marcoballa Molto rapido e gentilissimo. Sicuramente e quello che facevo prima con un plugin hammond, non ricordo il modello, fatto per imac e logic. Si usavo la mappatura dei vari d. bars, un draw alla volta. Ti ringrazio ancora. Saluti. Modesto

      I'm using a 6 years old android smartphone (Samsung J7, almost "entry level") and yes, I can feel some latency but (as you can see) no issues with very fast passages too.
      I think it could be different for any different smartphone/device (depending on model, processor, etc.).
      With Iphone you can adjust the latency and it's overall not perceptible.

      @@marcoballa latency at 128 sample buffer is imperceivable, this works great on iPhone 11 and iPad Pro. When using iPhone SE (2016) 256 samples latency was usedand still caused a few crackles so barely useable. (Setting buffer audio latency at 512 samples makes it un playable)

      You need a midi out in order to connect to a smartphone/tablet...

    • @TheIvoryman
      @TheIvoryman ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no way to connect a smart phone or tablet to an original Hammond B3 organ. You would have to purchase all of the parts needed and find a qualified technician to add a MIDI installation kit to your Hammond. And, what would be the point of adding an iPad and an App and all the parts, labor and insane expense to a 350lb Hammond organ that already has that sound built in to it??? The reason these tonewheel organ Apps were created was to give musicians that Hammond sound using light weight, portable keyboards in a setup that will be extremely cost effective and convenient to move around.
      You could purchase a couple of very light weight 61 key MIDI keyboard controllers from Nektar or M-Audio for far less money, that would have all the switches, knobs, and sliders you would need to control all aspects of VB3m. And you would have the same sound you’re hearing, here on this demo.
