Talent doesn't discriminate, people do.
When I came across your comment, the need to explore further just vanished. Very well done!
It's only funny because Larry himself felt so disrespected when a "white boy" guarded him lmaoo
@p craig Exceptionally Stated. Bravo!
Fax 💯
People that benefit from discrimination normally are robbed of developing such a talent. He grew up in a racist community and would play in the black community he speaks about what troubles that caused. Name another white American player like Larry. Maybe his not being racist even when his family and friends were. Blessed him.
Larry had that DAWG in him
Broadcast boys said it the best about Larry, he was a true devil with unlimited range
It is so good!!
Larry was that Dawg@!!😂😂
😂😂😂😂
The look on Magic's face when he said,
"That boy...that boy could play"
Like he was worried and wouldn't want to face him.

Interesting spelling of his name~

Lmao I forgot he said that
Could listen to Magic and Bird talk about each other all day.
What they did for the NBA and the game of basketball would never be duplicated
True I can to
All day, every day
When people thing current players could keep up with these dudes….I just laugh.

People nowadays don’t really know how great Larry Bird was.
Still not a better shooter than steph

He definitely gets disrespected by the younger generation. Idc I’ll take him over Bron more times than not.

My Mean Man Larry Joe Bird thanks for the memories, CELTICS 4LIFE, & da MagicMan, greatness
This reminds me of the story Magic tells about eating lunch at Larry's house and learning that he was Larry's mother's favorite player.
I absolutely LOVE that story!

The brotherhood Magic & Bird have is Amazing 💯

Ive always loved the relationship between Magic and Bird. They went at each other like dogs, always respected each other, as much as they wanted to win, were honest about how good the other was. No hate.
Well not until after their first commercial shoot. Before that respect but some dislike.
I'm one of those guys that, where I like rivalries, I like seeing former rivals team up and work together even more. So one of my favorite stories about Bird and Magic is during their time on the Dream Team. They were playing these college guys to get ready for the Olympics, and the college guys actually beat the dream team in their first game together! One of the boys laughed at Larry that night and said "Hey Larry, you ain't hit a jumper since 1984!!" Magic overheard that...and the next day, he fed Larry the ball like 8 or 9 times, as Larry just destroyed this kid. He started calling his shots and doing all his trash talking and when it was all done, Larry sneered over at the kid and said "Young fella...looked like '84 out there, didn't it?" I love that story!
You said it
@@Goldenbane thanks for sharing.
@@Goldenbane the competitive ones don’t forget even the smallest perceived insult. Love that line too!
This is how all races should be with each other. much love
You think we aren't?
It actually starts by recognizing and accepting the reality of only one human race, descendants of one family. All other labels and false constructs separate and generate discrimination, prejudice, racism, and hate, etc.
It was always like this. We mocked ourselves and each other in good fun.
With racism.. great idea.. imagine this same conversation, but with a different demographic talking about.. maybe hiring a person for their company.. probably wouldn't see it the same way.. when a person brings race into any general conversation it is a form of racism..
Yeah, imagine the colors being swapped. Social construct gives real black privilege to almost every scenario yet almost always overlooked as perfectly acceptable while fake white privilege is widely accepted as reality.
Larry said it was disrespectful to put a white boy on him 🤣🤣🤣
You caught that too. DAMN!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Larry Legend SAVAGE!
I remember that!!
same here
He was keeping the prima donnas on his respect level
Yes he did
People don’t understand how cold Larry really was. Dude was dope AF
Even if they didn't like Larry, they respected him as a player. You can hear the joy in Magic's voice. He enjoyed seeing Bird wreck that guy.

As teammates you can’t get closer than Bird and DJ.
When Bird was Indiana GM he called DJ who was coaching a lesser known college team. Larry told him he wanted Dennis to know DJ always had a job waiting for him should he ever need or desire a change. Those two played together like one person.
