Collin. Your videos have helped out a ton learning the game and being effective. I thought your video on scoring per min was crazy at first and then today happened. Myself (level 5) and a friend (level 7) hit up city park in NOLA, LA (super dense and 75% opposing team controlled). We set off at 1:30 on a loop of the outer perimeter of the southern section of the park. My buddy would lead out by 100M and destroy a chunk of blue and I would follow and deploy and field using what I learned off your pro tip videos. We finished at 4:00 with a 30 minute halftime. I netted 165K (leveled to 6) and my friend 150K. So I averaged 916AP per minute. That is only 150 less than your max AP calculator! I'm hooked for sure. Cheers - Patrick
Thought I'd note: a lot of players- especially in small towns- get butthurt cuz the enemy rolls through their fully fielded town and destroys it completely, then sets up their own powerful portals. This is not something to fuss about. Speaking from experience, a lot of leveling and even learning how to best field your area can get done this way. I'm a level 7, and about to be 8, and most of my levelling can be attributed to being steamrolled by players who come through town. Otherwise I imagine I would have taken at least twice as long to get to where I'm at 😀 Lovin the show. Keep up the great work 😉
I'm new, and I've been playing Ingress *mainly* to have something else to do while walking the dog. I have a couple of small zones nearby each with 4-5 portals, so I've been fielding up within the zones, then between the zones. I'm about to hit level 5. My jump from level 3 to nearly level 5 happened entirely because a Lvl 14 guy rolled through and undid my two core zones.
If you unmerge (& wrap) the merged cells in Column A, Rows 1, 5, and 15, you can freeze Column A and keep the row descriptions static while scrolling horizontally across the sheet. Much easier to use!
The best way I've found out to get AP is to field. Deploy, hack, field, and ignore your AP bar. In fact, it's just better if you focus on getting badges, as the AP will come naturally, and leveling is inevitable.
Excellent video Colin. Very professionally produced and you make good utilization of your screen area. The only suggestion I could make is to reduce the echo perhaps by using a lapel mic.
Phil Ruggera that's actually running off a lapel mic it's just a cheapy one. (literally got 5 for $6.95). Would love an ECM-77B, but I'll probably have to settle for a Giant Squid or Smartlav for the next purchase instead.
Rural L10 agent here but the town just 15 minutes away is strongly Resistance controlled and I can clear 150K in AP in an hour. What is fun is this is a daily thing as they rebuild quickly. An average portal is worth 7500AP!
Hi Mr Williams. Excellent video. This one is a real help, just what I was looking for. I got an item today that I had never seen before. It is a capsule that has MUFG on it and it is red in color. Not sure what the difference is yet from the standard ones. But it looks cool. Thank you so much for your videos.
I liked, cause you have a nice personality and your video helped even tho it is 3 years old ♥ Keep it up if your still alife :D Edit: You made me smile at the "or a REALLY fast horse"
I am fortunate to live in a very dense portal area and my favorite thing is making tiny triangles. I am curious to know if there are stats on players with the highest AP because my method has been pretty successful. I would like to know how I stand against other players outside my area.
There used to be an app called "agent stats' that was able to do just that based on groups of Agents all around the world. Gotta say it was quite fun to compare stats! :)
Jonas Bønløkke I'll be covering glyph hackin, AP and items in a different episode coming up. For right now I don't have specific enough numbers since I need to figure out average glyph hacking speed and accuracy using a set of high speed cameras
Thanks for your advice. I have only one coment. The scenario #3 from what I read and try you get quite nice AP (like 100 from regular hack and more from glyph hack) from only hacking enemy portals and I thing you didn't mention that. Which is kind a pity.
M1RGOTA You are correct I did forget to factor that into that specific scenario. Thank you for the correction. In that case the actual AP per minute would be 127 AP higher assuming 4 hacks on each portaql. not enough to change the strategy completely but still very good to note. I'll be running calculations later for a separate episode on the "efficiency or glyph hacking" ie would it lower overall AP since a glyph hack usually maxed at around 500ish AP for a quick hack so I believe a player could at most get 1250 AP a minute glyphing so it'd be possibly better to use other methods instead, but i have to run high speed cam tests first.
Collin Williams I use it if I go quickly trought some densely portaled area in passangers seat of car or other quick transportation like tram or bus, I just go long klick-hack-long klik-hack...and so on. It is realy great for those. And if you would like to mention me in a video my players nick is Mtulik ;) but you surely dont have to.
I don't know about "burrito fields" for AP every single addition field you make doing burrito fields you actually could have made TWO fields with only 1 additional key (that key being the closes to you every time) more fields means more

Is Glyph hacking then a good idea or does it take way too long ?

For any given number of portals layering will give 50% more fields than unlayered.
Urban areas, like with a portal every block, not like urban a lot of black people urban?

My best piece of advice is invest in a longboard
Matthew Morris a bicycle is also really good, specially if you have a phone mount on the bycicle

You can play it during your daily travels then if you are a lone wolf. Google hangouts is a good place to meet fellow agents as well.
It's funny, but I don't understand why you call layered fields "burrito fields".
Nacho Perez check out fielding 201 for why they're called burrito fields
+Nacho Perez (BabaBooey) Nah, what's funny is a guy named Nacho making a burrito comment.
is it just me or can you not edit the doc and therefore not use the calculator?
+B.A.D. Dickie You'll need to make a personal copy of the document. full instructions can be found at the top of the document
+Collin Williams ah thanks. I figured I was missing something. 4 million ap to go
Enlightened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-
