Normally I'm not a huge fan of drummers that use a lot of cymbals I don't know why but I just rather the pure percussive side of the drums. There are certain drummers though that I really like how they use cymbals because its not just the typical usual stuff and I've always like this guy's style and technique he's got so much groove so I'm really looking forward to this.
Man I am loving their new sound, so groovy!! You can hear the breakdown in the background when Jake starts talking, sounds great also. And Jake is fricking hilarious

***** I didn't mean to be selfish. Its just my opinion. I thought OM&M wouldn't disappoint but their first few singles weren't exactly great. They were good but I feel like they can do better. I hope MMF doesn't disappoint as any other fan would hope, but bands that I think would never disappoint have before. At the end of the day man, my comment is just a comment. And if you don't like the new album than that fucking sucks for you, hell I mean I may not even like the new album, it's unpredictable, but that doesn't mean they fucked anything up for doing what they want to do. It also wasn't my intention to "musically parent" them, whatever that is. I'm just saying that the recent Rise releases weren't so great. Its just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion right? And I understand that their music is their music. They write whatever they want to write and I'm all for that man. Just like Jeremy from A Day To Remember says "We don't write music to please you. We write music that makes us happy and if it doesn't reach you anymore, than it doesn't reach you anymore. That's fine."

Hey sorry man, I kinda sounded like a douche there too, so I apologize for that. It's just I'm an artist myself, and I front my own band, and I've met a lot of bands, musicians, and solo artists who strive hard to just write music they want to, but get drawn back from the pressure of not only haters, but fans who will say "Ooo do this! Make it sound like this thatd be awesome!!!" Which honestly is really cool that your into the band that much and you want to see them succeed that much. But in all reality musicians just want to write music, THEIR music, and sometimes its stressful with all that weight on their shoulders, because the fans know the band loves them, and they want to appeal not only to more people, but to all there fans, with positive outcomes and thoughts. No offense taken or given here man I totally respect you. I apologize again for sounding like such a pent up titwad. Sometimes I just lash out easy, because music is what I do, it's my life. I hope you have a good one though, brother. Take it easy! Listen to the new album!!!

I know these guys have stated so many times that they don't want and won't bring back the southern sound, and i totally respect it. But could you please variate the instrumental songwriting a bit more and making diverse? Because The Hollow, Challenger, and even Between The Lies have basically the same cycle, structure and songwriting with very slight variations that i'm not sure if i call them progression or regression. Also please don't exaggerate with the post-production. Just my opinion. Can't deny Jake's talent on drums though

Tor Edwin Karlsen it's kinda hard to explain haha, but it's very influenced by country, blues and rock n' roll music. For example, bands like Every Time I Die, He Is Legend, Maylene and The Sons of Disaster, The Showdown(on Temptation Come My Way/Feel Like Hell era) and this band's self-titled EP and album "Sleepwalking"
Tor Edwin Karlsen From my perspective, I can kind of hear a twang in the guitars from Sleepwalking.
This is my most anticipated album of the year, just above Of Mice & Men's record. Jesus I can't wait for either.

nice Sennheiser MD 421 II. you should try some KSM 32's they have a little bit more of a pickup range around the 200-800hz so that turn out a little rounder with a faster attack
they use samples anyway so it doesnt even matter :/

***** unless they're using pre-recorded samples and all they're recording is the velocity and the timing of each hit.If that's the case then yeah the mic doesn't matter.
Garritt Caudill im pretty sure they just use the velocity, they may actually be using new samples this time around but for the past two records its pretty much been the same samples
