I know I'm late to this video but I wanted to add a tip: When you're swapping heads on figures and the ball socket joint is loose, use Blue-Tac. Put a little bit on the top of the neck and seat the head. The Blue-Tac will hold it tight and let you pose the head with a reasonable assurance of the head staying in place. Hope that helps.
Your diorama is awesome. Cardboard is free and you can make so many things with it. I made a medieval ship from cardboard, coated it with Titebond wood glue and marine varnish. It actually floats and virtually indestructible.
Thanks for the compliment, really appreciate it. it's one of those click on lights you can get them at walmart or target. Around Christmas time they usually sell as stocking stuffers for like $2 each
@theDoodler2 thanks for the kind comment. I plan to do a snow / hoth diorama, but probably not until a few weeks from now. I usually do that during the winter time.
hahaha I have so much fun at the end lol...watching you trying to crush your figures...very nice diorama, and all that "trash" really worked very well. Thanks for sharing with us these awesome and low budget setups!
Thanks for watching and the compliment ! man that would be such an epic one to do, would love to if ever have the time some day! thanks for sharing the idea
My mom and I just watched your amazing diorama and it's truly an incredible piece. We made some popcorn with extra butter. She enjoyed your movie and said you have gifted skills my friend. Thanks for sharing with us. Next time we'll pay for admissions.hahaha
@AUTOCONS1 hahaha yeah i was playing vader and I "volunteered" them hahah. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad the red marker works. I seriously appreciate your awesome input and comments so supportive thanks a lot
@micahc6v8 Yess that's the best news I have heard all week! I can't wait to see it man. hahaha budgetjedi diorama day, flattering and funny at the same time - thank you for watching and the support as always Josh
A brilliant idea bro. I really am impressed. I'm so jealous of your creative mind. Never thought of swapping the figure heads before cos I thought I might break it. You really replicated the scene dynamically by crushing the characters. Poor Han! LoL! Thanks for sharing! :)
@aliasangelalias hahah thanks for the awesome comment man. You're always like so supportive of my cheap ass ideas hahaha. Really glad you enjoyed ,and thanks for the very kind words and watching as usual!
@DaddyIvo Ivo thanks so much for the comment. You gonna make my ego blow up with those nice words. I got a little too carried away killing the rebels at the end haha
@SWFDReviews lol, seriously, I'm lazy in real life, that's why i try to find shortcuts. Thanks so much for the kind words. and if you make one you better tell me i want to see! I love looking at dioramas!
You motivate me to want to try my own dioramas. I think I'll take a day off work in January and call it "Budget Jedi Diorama day"- thanks for the entertainment man
Really creative and a smart simple design--Who else would have thought of changing the heads heads around--haha--brilliant--Chewy is just wanting out!--hahaha--Another great one one to add to the list my friend.
MAN, you always make me wanna' watch the movies after watching your video's. Great use of the red light! Great job as always! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME...
OH that is a rubber mat for cutting pieces of cardboard using exacto knife. I believe it's called cutting mat. You can find it in art stores. Hope that helps
Hi budget jedi I am a big follower of your diaramas my favorite one is the one with the bounty hunters thanks for doing these diamam they are really good and movie accurate
really nice work. its a really good reminder how far you can take something simple like cardboard, and make it look that good, if you do it right. always great economical designs in terms of how you use the materials, and never doing too much or too little...haha man i was laughing when you gave us your thoughts on what leia was actually thinking...maybe after i get some more experience with dioramas, we can collaborate too!
@TheForceIsWithJesse hahah royalties. Yes you accidentally performed "inception" in my head for this playable feature idea so maybe i owe you some royalty hardy har! thanks for watching as always
@Jediboy330 it's not better, just a lot more work into it - remember yours took a lot less time and it's very simple, I really love the way you did it, it's very cool! Thanks for the kind comments, and can't wait to see yours or any other stuff you make. LOL didn't know there was any other way to pronounce your name? haha
@andrezituu1 Andre your comments are crazy super awesome haha, I'm gonna be so hooked on your comments. Thanks a lot for the input yeah blue tach is very good! I did that before but the putty got stuck inside the head and hard to take out haha... I should have mentioned that! Yeah. don't you wish that boshek71 had some videos? but he's soo supportive just like you. Thanks thanks and thanks Andre!
@PHATTZTOYZ Thanks a lot PJ! hahahah popcorn with butter. You simply have the best comments and so kind too! You're also making me reallllly look forward to hanging out with my mom on thanksgiving! yay! thanks againnn
You're a budget genius! I immediately and only thought of LEDs for the overhead door lights (maybe because i'm working on an LED project lately), but never would have thought of colouring cellotape @_@ It looks great, and makes me want to attempt my own dio now. It seems in the spirit of the movie production, too. I believe the crew had to improvise a lot when constructing sets and models. So I think the boys at Elstree would approve :)
@addictedtostarwars23 oh man that would be epic. I wish I had a whole Jabba's palace indeed! maybe some day. Thanks a lot for the awesome comment as usual!
Dude, that was just perfecto-loved the crushin doors too...dont remeber them been on repetative crush mode though LOL Cant wait to see what you come up with on your next collab bud
Usually most of them get thrown out except for those that took me so much time to build. Most of them are really cheap and made from junk so it doesn't cost a lot to throw them out -
@TheBudgetJedi REALLY I LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING ON YOUR CHANNEL! I am always using boxes and throw away stuff to make cheap awesome dios. I am working on a Cobra Mobile Base that is the size of the GI JOE PIT using all kinds of various crap. Cost under 10 bucks lol so we are cut from the same mold my friend!
@SithLord229 haha yeah Leia went down first then Han just had no reason for living after that lol. I might have gotten carried away there. Thanks for the kind words Steve
@Samuntrus thanks for watching. My stuff can't be accurate in scale, usually i just use the figures to measure stuff, for example if the figure is "so and so" tall, so the door should be the same height etc. I just use my gut feeling. But in fact in reality stuff isn't really in scale, I think this compactor room probably should have been bigger, but tha'ts all the material i had.... but glad to know you think they look in scale
@mrdecepticonleader hahaha I know right?! i was literally trying to "Crush the rebellion". Oh be sure to check out maddwoba's channel to see a kick ass obi wan vs. diorama that he just built! it's so simple but so great! As usual thanks for your awesome and supportive comment
@TheBudgetJedi well you know its not the detail that makes the diorama. thats just extra stuff. the captured essence of a moment in the movie, is really what you want for a diorama. thats why yours are so strong. i also saw this in Maddwoba's Leia/R2 dio...thats what i need to work on. plus since you have done more than a few, you got a solid style going.
You out done yourself "again!" My brother and I was watching this and our jaws drop! Truly amazing diorama man. The idea you did at the end of the video of the orange lid was epic! Man, I wish I have ideas like yours and.. 6 hours lol You should help with GL do his next movie project, that is if he does any more movies. ^^ You would save him a lot of money in production. haha
@theairbournetrooper yay first view lol - Yeah i hear you about the figures. My dios totally depend on what figures I want to play wtih. Thanks for your comment and watching
You could also get tin foil and burn the edges with a lighter and get some see through plastic and cut little leg holes and slot them in so it's like the sewer water kinda thing ?
I know I'm late to this video but I wanted to add a tip: When you're swapping heads on figures and the ball socket joint is loose, use Blue-Tac. Put a little bit on the top of the neck and seat the head. The Blue-Tac will hold it tight and let you pose the head with a reasonable assurance of the head staying in place.
Hope that helps.
Han Solo: One thing's for sure. We're all going to be a lot thinner
the red light with the clear tap was awesome. and the idea with the heads of the figuers was great. 10/10 all arownd
Your diorama is awesome. Cardboard is free and you can make so many things with it. I made a medieval ship from cardboard, coated it with Titebond wood glue and marine varnish. It actually floats and virtually indestructible.

Really amazing job. This is my second favorite of your dioramas (#1 is the sabaac game). Rock on!
Usually most of them get thrown out except for those that took me so much time to build. Most of them are really cheap and made from junk so it doesn't cost a lot to throw them out -
wow thanks for the super awesome comment and watching!

@The budget Jedi Anytime! Thx for posting this!
Boring?! Not at all. Another great tutorial. I love these videos you do. I'll be sure to promote your channel as much as possible.
A trash compactor diorama might be in my future. Have to finish the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 bridge diorama first.
@ARCTROOPERMARK hahahah you noticed that, i love it! I did get a little too crazy with crushing the rebels haha
That's pretty fun. I still have my Kenner Death Star with bright orange trash compactor with foam and Dianoga lol MTFBWY
Its looks super playable... Another grt vid frm e Master himself. Tks.
