Maybe I can go to a narrower shoe now, to be honest, because I have raised my arch significantly over the last few years (from level 1 to level 4 in G8 insole), which shortens and narrows the foot, especially under load.
Specialized only had one wide mondel right now. S-Works Torch. Shimano S-Phyre also comes wide, but finding any to try is very difficult. You could also include Bont in this for wide feet.
Agree. The asymmetric/offset opening means the cuff of the shoe presses against your tendon and the toebox strap creates a pressure point at the front. I wouldn't consider them to be wide-fitting. One of worst bike shoe purchases ever for me. (Prior to that I had some other Specialized BG shoes and they were excellent)

Specialized Ares is not wide... can barely(actually, I can't) get my foot in that lol... and I use Lake CX238 extra wide as my road shoe.
my problem is that the heels are too wide too with that model.. any recos for that issue?

Shimano shoes are not wider, they have more volume for toebox (outsole width is almost the same as regular)

I got the Recon 2.0, and they are horrible for me. Numb toes all the time. Unless there's a wide version I don't know about.
