I really appreciate you taking a moment to mention specific known issues with both sets, like the moisture issue or the on-head detection finickyness - something many reviewers would not highlight at all. Peace!
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! I ask myself, what would I want to know in a review when I do them. Hopefully it helps someone when looking at the headphones. I appreciate you noticing the effort!
A very well made video! I can honestly say having tried the 5909, they’re truly one of the best Bluetooth headphones on the market today. I am coming from a Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones and after 6 years having them, I was literally stunned by the sound quality of the 5909… it’s Bluetooth and Mark Levinson have created an incredible product (their first headphones product).
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! I agree, Mark Levinson has knocked it out the park for their first pair of headphones. The Bluetooth side is great, but the headphones really shine wired. They sound great! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Don’t be a stranger!
Nice video, I enjoyed watching. I have been an owner of the Mark Levinson 5909 for one week now and just love them. I own three different Audeze, a Focal, Dan Clark Audio, HiFiMan, Sennheiser, etc. and the 5909 are as well built, comfortable, premium as any of my others. Just an excellent first offering yet hard to recommend, due to cost. One must be a serious music enthusiast as opposed to the casual listener to fully appreciate this level of expenditure. They are really good!
I agree, the Mark Levinson No 5909 are a pair of headphones that are meant for the more enthused listener. The price will steer a lot of people away, but people who want a pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones that are good wired and wireless will appreciate the Mark Levinson 5909 headphones. I also have Focal, HifiMan, Sennheiser, and etc. There are a few headphones I want to compare in a similar price range (PX8, Focal Bathys, and MW75). I appreciate you taking the time to watch and sharing your thoughts!
@@DelonteM I testee the focal but the workmanship wasn't particularly good, they were very comfortable, but when you press them on the ear cups they start beeping(I mean the bowers also), but ML not . The bowers wilkins px7 s2 had an audible anc hiss, which the px8 wont have. But bowers drowns everything into Bass. ML is the only one which have aptx hd and ldac. At 10khz a little bit to much highs, Bluetooth 5.1 not up to date, multipoint connection also, best all-round package, definitive.
@Brüll Mücke I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video! The ML 5909 have been great, I love how everything comes together (highs, mids, and lows). You're right, the Bluetooth is a little dated now, but the complete package is solid! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Detailed comparison and you’re the first to make it, thanks! I agree that the 5909s sound clearer in your binaural recording. A question: does the 5909 have sidetone for calls (what Bose calls Self Voice) when ANC is on? The APM doesn’t and I find that annoying. No one else has answered this yet.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! There isn’t anything that specifically calls out this function (or I haven’t seen it yet), but you can hear yourself while using the headphones. It works very similar to Bose’s Self Voice High mode. Calls are very clear and you have the ability to hear how you come across as well. I hope this helps!
I've had my 5909s for a number of weeks. If I just want great noise-canceling I grab my Bose 700s. The 5090 really produces an excellent sound experience, especially when using the cable. Thank you for your great review!
The 5909 headphones have been great for me as well! Bose is definitely one of the top three for noise cancellation, but the No 5909 headphones sound refined. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
@@johnhaydock1577 Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! My opinion, the Bose QC45 and the Bose Noise Canceling 700 headphones are some of the best headphones for noise canceling at the current time of this question. Apple's Airpods Max, Sony's XM4, and Bose's QC45 and Noise canceling 700 are the front runners at the current time. I will be testing the Sony XM5 headphones as soon as they are delivered. If you are looking for a really good pair of headphones that sound excellent with good noise canceling, the Mark Levinson 5909 are an excellent choice. The sound is the cleanest so far... They are $1,000, but they sound really good and have good noise canceling. I hope this helps!
The ML headphones are on a completely different level, lol. The AirPods Max by themselves sound good, but you can definitely hear the difference in a side by side comparison. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video!
Thanks for Vid my Man! I'm sold on the 5909 and just put an order in Crutchfield using accumulated points on CC. So in short I just paid tax and shipping on the 5909s. Your Vid made my choice much easier
My apologies for not seeing this comment. I'll have to do some digging to find out where they are from. I very much so appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I bought the 5909 , excellent sound except that the product is full of faults: Crackling when no sound in bluetooth. Problem with sound cutting in aptx HD if the environment is not free of any interference. Headphone head detection function malfunctions, headphones close randomly. If you connect it to two Bluetooth devices, in my case they connect almost at the same time and when the music start, an unpleasant sound occurs and the headphones close. Finally, the headphones are heavy to wear over a long period of time. Customer and tecnical service is not very good. So invest your $1000 on another more successful product!!!!
Comprehensive review of the features of these headphones. I wished you would have talked a bit more about the sound quality. Sound is subjective but, which ones sounded better to you. Listening to sound demos via TH-cam isn't the best way to compare headphones but from what I could tell the Mark Levinson sounded better to me. I know people will buy Bluetooth headphones for all kinds of reasons but if I'm going to spend $500 or $1000 on headphones, first and foremost, I will want music to sound great on them. Thanks for the review.
The video was cut a lot, it was initially 22 mins long… I figured nobody would have wanted to go through that much time, lol. As you said, sound is subjective, but the No 5909 headphones are more clearer and sound enriched. Both headphones sound good, but when you play them side by side, the AirPods Max headphones sound as if the curtains were not pulled back at a concert… The AirPods Max sound great, don’t get me wrong and definitely provide a lot of value in the Apple ecosystem. If you’re looking for excellent sound in the wireless/Bluetooth headphones space, the No 5909 headphones are pretty hard to beat… I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
@@DelonteM That's the way Apple get's you. If you have been in their ecosystem for a long time like I have, it's hard to not stick with their products. I know the AirPods Max will work seamlessly across all my Apple devices just like my AirPods Pro. I like that about the AirPods Max but I bet the 5909 are more focused on sounding the best they can. The 5909 are tuned to the Harmon target which is generally considered to be a good thing. I'm considering the 5909 for the flexible ways you can use them... wired and wireless but, what I really want is a premium headphone with the best sound. I'm debating the 5909 or just a really good pair of wired headphones since most of my listening will be at home.
@@stnkpalm That is the way Apple gets you, lol. I can say the No 5909 sound great. The Beyerdynamic 990 pro and the Sennheiser HD 650 are excellent headphones as well. The Sennheiser HD 800S are some really good headphones as well. These are all open back headphones. The Focal Celestee are a nice pair of closed back headphones. It really depends on what you’re looking for in a pair of headphones and your budget. I’m definitely interested in hearing what pair of headphones you decide to go with and how you liked them!
Excellent review! 👍The AirPods accept a wired option like the 5909s. This allows you to take advantage of ultra hi-def stream from Apple, Deezer, Qubuz, Tidal, etc. Bluetooth can easily handle compressed MP3, but sounds horrible IMO. BT may not stream those large files but can handle some hi-def lossless like 24-bit/192 kHZ FLAC. To tap into the Ultra hi-def (greater than 24/192), you should wire to an outboard dac/amp. This also allows you to take FULL advantage of your headphone’s quality and explore their capability. This is where the Levinsons leave Apple in the dust. I have both Apple Music and Deezer. I don’t like Apple’s proprietary sound. Apple, Deezer and others, stream ultra high def (at or above 24/192) at higher cost. I can hear the difference. Listen to all file sizes to see what you prefer. Internet connection speed matters. If I’m jogging/working out, I’m gonna wear my Sony XM5 wireless w/hi-def files. Not sweating, I’m going to go wired w/Levinson, Audeze, Focals, Beyerdynamic, etc. that have BT and wired listening option. I drop the Dac/amp in my coat pocket or I use a Fanny pack to store the gear. If you’re confused or need help deciding, here’s an updated article from 2018 that goes into some depth. www.cnet.com/tech/home-entertainment/what-is-flac-the-high-def-mp3-explained/
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I plan to do a video similar to what you discussed here in the near future. I generally take my headphones or IEMs with a cable attached to a DAC/Amp as well for better sound. Some people feel this is a bit too extreme and want the Bluetooth convenience, which is something I need every now and then as well. Each their own, as long as you get what you need while listening… I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
Thanks for this very useful review and comparison. Would love to hear your take between the 5909 and the new Ausounds AU-X ANC. Just got the latter and I'm impressed. Just wish they felt a bit more comfortable. Wondering how B&W's upcoming Px8 will fare against the 5909. Looking forward to seeing more reviews from you. Just subscribed!
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I will definitely be reviewing the PX8 when released. I have a lot of high hopes, hopefully B&W don’t let us down… I have not had a chance to listen to the AU-X headphones as of yet. I’ll look into getting my hands on them for review. If they sound good enough to compete with the 5909 headphones, they must be really good! I have a few more reviews coming out against the 5909 and a so many months later review as well. The 5909 headphones are the bar right now at $1,000 U.S. dollars… Welcome to the team!
I'm waiting for the comparison between px8 and 5909 . Audio enthusiast myself having both relatively expensive wired as well as wireless headphones, I'm keen on upgrading my wireless headphones end of this year or early next year because I've been using my wireless headphones for the last four years. It's a welcoming trend in terms of the number of options in the wireless headphones market as a consumer.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I will definitely be doing the PX8 vs 5909 review. I am actually pretty excited for this comparison and hope Bowers & Wilkins doesn’t let us down… We’ll see!
I also have quite a few wired headphones with DAC/Amp setups and love the ability to switch as needed. The problem comes when you’re used to the sound from the wired setup and listen to wireless setup that disappoint… The Mark Levinson 5909 have been great so far with some exception. I’ll be doing an updated video about that portion, but can’t wait to compare the 5909 to the PX8!
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! This sounds like something I should do a comparison with... I do not have much experience with the H95 headphones, but I'll see if I can get my hands on them for a review and comparison. Thanks for the idea!
@@DelonteM Thank you for your answer. I would love to see that comparison. Both headphones are very expensive but have amazing sound and build quality.
@@bmaedah Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! I’m definitely looking into making this happen. There’s been quite a few people asking about this comparison or a review of the B&O headphones themselves. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
Welcome back! I would give it a good 24 hours of use… You’ll start noticing a difference after a few hours of use. You can play music in the background (without you actually listening to them) to let the headphones break in as well. After that you should be good to go! Let us know what you think when you break them in!
Great review/comparison, well done & thank you. So, the 5909s cost nearly twice as much. Surely it's a no brainer - you buy the Airpods. But hang on. You'll need to buy the extra cable, and a case that actually works, and a cloth to dry the inside of condensation plus paying all that extra money for the over-priced iPad, iPhone or MacBook so you can actually use them. Or you can actually save your money and buy the 5909s that will actually work with everything and sound sooo much better. Oh, and you won't have to buy your friends a coffee everyday to apologise for the appalling sound leakage of the Airpods. Now it's a no brainer!
Love the way you broke down the cost 😂 and wish I thought of something like this for the video! There are quite a few extra items needed to make the AirPods Max shine. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and sharing your thoughts! This was hilarious, especially needing the cloth 🤣.
If you actually compare sound quality and not compare cost the 5909 are by far the better sounding Headphone specifically when you use a loss less play source ,
Welcome back, I appreciate you taking the time to watch! My next video is discussing the 10 best features of the Apple ecosystem. Let me know what you think if you get a chance to see it!
@@DelonteM Perfect, the last one about the eco system made me to buy 13promax, series 7 watch and pro earpods, not a joke. It hooked, and i like the style youre presenting :)
@Jo Ku Thanks, I appreciate the support. Comments like this really help to stay motivated! I’ll have a section to assist people with Apple ecosystem devices, but you seem to have everything you need, lol. I really appreciate your comment!
Great video . I think they sound amazing ,but I find the volume to be high ,but not loud. That's driving me crazy . I've had other Bluetooth that dint have this issue. Wondering if it's the cans or they just sound low.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! That is one of the negatives for the 5909… They don’t get loud… The volume can get pretty high, but the volume isn’t loud. This is a pair of headphones where you will need to place the volume at 70% or 80% to get more out of them… I was going to mention this in the solo full review of the 5909 headphones. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
@DelonteM thanks for the response, bro. That's a deal breaker for me cause I like to go loud sometimes with a great song , and these are just way low at 100%. Idk. Give them some more time since I have 30 days to return them . Also, they sound phenomenal and are worth the price, just not happy with the low volume with bluetooth. Ps count me as a subscriber, hope your channel does well.
@@camarykaren Thanks, welcome to the team! I would tell you to check out the Focal Bathys or the PX8 headphones if you need wireless Bluetooth headphones that sound great and get loud! I have a review on both of them on the channel. The Bathys excels in the upper realm, while the PX8 excels in the lower realm. I also have a comparison video of the two if that helps! I think one of those two will better suit your needs based on what you’re saying. I hope that helps!
@DelonteM yes , I'll be checking them out and thank u. But I know the focal won't sound as good which is disappointing since I have the Clears and Utopia . Focal change their sound for the Bathys which I wonder y .
@@camarykaren Yea, Focal’s wired headphones sound better in my opinion… The Bathys is a first gen product, hopefully they improve them in the second round. It’s too bad about the volume. The 5909 is one of the best wireless headphones out today! They definitely compliment my wired setup. Check out the PX8 headphones review. I hope that one works better. The PX8 is a bit meatier than the Bathys headphones. They also do very well with a third party EQ. Let me know what you think!
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and share your thoughts! I hope to see the channel grow one day, but I’m also very appreciative that people are willing to watch! Thanks again for your time and the uplifting comment!
The AirPods Max are a nice pair of headphones for people in the Apple ecosystem, but if sound is number one for you, I would definitely check out the No 5909. The price is the only reason it is hard to recommend the 5909 to a lot of people, but they sound great! I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Thx for such amazingly thorough review/comparison, with nice editing choices to animate the speech! As some suggested, I'd apply for the list of the waiters for a comparison between some new titans in this field of ANC BT hp, notably the Focal Bathys, the B&W PX8, the B&O H95, VS these Mark Levinson No 5909 ; especially whenFocal is also part of the rare manufacturers using Beryllium drivers. 😎👍 (but of course, those represent such a budget, you're welcome to take your time to invest [or not] in those) Big up
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I have a review of the Focal Bathys already in the channel and working on the PX8 as well. I’ll be doing a comparison of the ML 5909 vs the Bathys (working on that right now) and the PX8. A lot of people are asking me to review the MW75 headphones… I’ll try to get my hands on those as well. All the comparisons will be coming very soon. I appreciate you taking the time to recommend headphones for the channel! Thanks for stopping by!
Really thorough review. Really appreciate it. I’m leaning towards the Levinson. I own ML and Apple products already. I have multiple headphones from Senn, AKG, and Audio Tecnica but I’m really wanting ultimate sound quality that’s wireless. ML seems like the ticket.
Thanks for taking the time to watch. The ML 5909 are definitely one of the best wireless Bluetooth headphones out. It is currently my primary go to pair of headphones. I have a review of the Focal Bathys on the channel as well and will have the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 out soon. Some people don’t want to pay the high price for these headphones, but the No 5909 has been worth it in my opinion. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the 5909 headphones. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
@@DelonteM I’m putting the 5909 on my Xmas list for sure. By the way, I have one headphone which has been super crazy entertaining. It literally shakes your head and you can’t help yourself from laughing and smiling cheek to cheek. It’s not for everyone but I listen to a lot of 60’s and 70’s music where bass recordings are pretty flat and these headphones give more beef to the music. Modern hiphop and EDM, these headphones literally take your head off… Skullcandy Crusher Evo for$200. Yep… Skullcandy.

They also include an 8 band EQ in the app. I’ll check out the Skullcandy Crusher Evo headphones for review. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@nguyenhuu6559 The AirPods Max are a really nice pair of headphones and provide a lot of value. It really depends on what the user is looking for. The sound on the Mark Levinson is hard to beat for wireless/Bluetooth headphones, but if you’re in the Apple ecosystem, the value the AirPods Max provide is hard to beat as well. The person would have to decide what was best for them. Hopefully the next generation of AirPods Max close the sound gap. I will definitely do the updated review when/if a next generation of AirPods Max is released.
@@DelonteM the "levinsons" have great sound indeed, but as i am in the apple ecosystem, "maxes" serve me better!!!thanks for your great comparison!!!(i am also looking forward to see the next generation of airpods max!!!)
@ATHE Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! I can’t wait to see what Apple does with the next version of the AirPods Max. I’ll definitely be reviewing them once they are released! The AirPods Max sound really good and provide a ton of benefits within the Apple ecosystem. I’m also pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem as well, so I definitely get what you are saying, lol. The ML 5909 headphones sound better better in my opinion, but the APM sound really good as well, with the added convenience of an entire ecosystem. Thanks again for taking the time to watch!
respect the review, would be great if you had a couple other music categories when sharing the sound quality. electronic bass music can be very subjective
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I will definitely keep that in mind. I try to place different genres of music, but I will try to get more music with less emphasis on bass. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
My story is I bought Mark Levinson 5909 headphones. Very careful home use 1-2 times during the week. After 6 months, the leather parts around the head came off. The glue is bad. Now I have to look for a solution to this problem. Hey guys from Mark Levinson, how do you like this quality of headphones for over 1000 USD. The headphones sound great. The quality of the construction is terrible. I do not recommend it.
Nice video mate! However, I am not sure is a correct and fair comparison; ML is at a different level really compared with Apple's Max. Sound on Apple I found it good only on the Apple Music platform while changing to Tidal (even with master songs) is not delivering the same, which makes me think that it might be another of those Apple's dirty jobs. ML, on the other hand, are spot on various platforms, the sound is out of this world and they deliver superb. Through the cable the sound is even better. So, all in all, I believe would make much more sense to have cans from the same price range compared rather than like this
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! The ML 5909 headphones are an all around great pair of headphones. I’ll be doing a comparison with the Focal Bathys and the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 in the near future. Let me know what you think of those comparisons if you get a chance to watch. I didn't get which headphones you used when you played the music. I heard difference but as I am blind I could not see which one you used first. Sorry for that. Otherwise I am very impressed by your demo. I have the EarPods max but maybe I should get the NO 5909 also. Hmm, no money.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! Both headphones are pretty good, but the AirPods Max are a lot easier to use if you are using them as wireless bluetooth headphones only. There are some issues with the No 5909 headphones that annoy me, like the head detection feature still not working correctly and the noise cancellation feature. If you move too much (dance along with the track or walk too much) the noise cancellation feature sounds wonky or weird.... You don't have these issues with the AirPods Max headphones, so they are easier to use. The No 5909 headphones sound better, but the AirPods Max are a lot easier to use. I hope this helps!
Definitely do your own testing, but the No 5909 headphones hands down sound better than the AirPods Max. If sound is your main priority, you will be happy with the No 5909 headphones! Last time I checked there are only a few retailers that sell the No 5909. Crutchfield and Audio Advice are two of them. You can return them if you don’t like them, check with the retailers return policy for more info. I hope this helps and let us know what you think of the No 5909 headphones if you decide to get them!
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! You will need to be using an Apple device to get the spatial audio feature to work. You can download the HBO Max app on the Apple TV or mirror the HBO Max app from your iPhone and get spatial audio to work. Unfortunately, you would be using standard Bluetooth with the AirPods Max directly to your TV. I hope this helps!
I have the apple 🍎 headphones 🎧 and iPhone 📱combination already I’m wondering with that being said if it makes Sense to upgrade my wireless headphones to the Mark Levinson No. 5909 especially when it comes to playing HipHop and Reggae the two genres I play the most on my truly wireless headphones 🎧? What day you boss thanks ☺️ in advance peace ✌🏾?
I appreciate you taking the time to watch! The Mark Levinson No 5909 have been great so far (except the on head detection feature, which I hope they work out very soon). I’m so far in the Apple ecosystem… I have everything from the iPhone to the Pro Display XDR (Apple Watch, Mac, iPad, AirPods, and etc). I go back and forth with the No 5909 and the AirPods Max a lot, primarily due to the AirPods and the ecosystem. I find myself picking up the No 5909 a lot recently. They sound so much better and the call quality, noise cancellation, and so on are still pretty good. You heard the samples, if you feel the headphones are worth a try at $1,000, try them out. There’s always the return policy if they don’t meet your expectations. My first thoughts were to return them, but by day 3 I was all in, lol. These headphones are great with all types of music. There’s an option to add bass or reduce the bass in the app as well. I generally keep the bass at either neutral or enhanced bass and both have been great for hip hop and reggae tracks. I hope this helps and don’t be a stranger!

@@jonathanbarnes7641 No problem, I’m glad I was able to help! It will be very hard to sample the No 5909 headphones, as of right now, select retailers sell them (Crutchfield and Audio Advice of the top of my head). The best true wireless earbuds for me right now would have to be the Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds. I made a video about them and they are leading the pack right now. They have their faults, call quality in a noisy environment isn’t that great and you do need to take a second to ensure they are really in your ear, but sound quality, features, and comfort is an easy win with the Sony XM4 earbuds. Nice punchy bass, natural sounding mods, and crisp highs.
@@nguyenhuu6559 I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video! Apple does have lossless audio, it’s called Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC). In Bluetooth the ML 5909 headphones support AAC, aptX Adaptive, and LDAC. I do not see where the headphones support ALAC, but wired is different. If you download a track in lossless audio and hard wire connect to the source, you get what the source provides. I agree with you 1000 percent on the A800 for the price they hit way above what you would think. Wired would be awesome as there are so many great wired headphones out there . But make sure you have all the right stuff for hi end headphones like a good dac , cables , etc plus always break them in some take up to 50 or more hrs before their true potential is revealed
@@rdeh1678 I use the Topping D90SE and the Topping A90D for my DAC/amp setup and agree with the break in periods. The Topping DAC and amps are nice. The A90D sounds a bit better than the previous A90 in my opinion (a little warmer).
The plastics on the 5909 make it look much cheaper than it actually is. And it looks super goofy on the head. But in the comparison, they made the AirPods Max sound like a muffled mess.
Welcome back and thanks for taking the time to watch! The plastic discussion was a mistake on my part. The headphones use an anodized aluminum frame with automotive grade metallic painted ear cups. They are a bit chunky, but are definitely in my rotation as of this post. The headphones sound great! I apologize for the mistake…

@@DelonteM Never expected a response so that's 👍 What I meant is that they have a high quality top grain leather or a full grain leather. Thanks for taking the time to watch. The 5909 headphones are really good! I’m looking at comparing them against the MW75 and the H95 headphones. Stay tuned!
no it’s not. It’s a point of reference. I am an audiophile and have had 6000 DACS, AMPS, and headphones. People compare low end gear to high end gear for a point of reference. Especially to show the law of diminishing returns.
Too bad you didn't develop more about wired mode with a good DAP. Unlike Sony, Bose or even apple wired mode is not only to save battery. Wired mode on ML really bring more to audio. More soundstage more clearer. For me the ML is not a wireless headphone we can use as wired headphone sometime. It is more a wired one we can use useless too
I had the wired portion in the video, but had to take out a lot. The video was going to be 22 mins long and I didn’t think people wanted that long of a video, lol. The headphones definitely shine in wired mode. They are also a great references/neutral sounding pair of headphones for editing music and video audio. Great pair of headphones!
For a £1000 Ile be be buying a DAC amp just saying and go wired for the ultimate sound quality with no volume distortion dueto how limited in volume Bluetooth is I have a pair of Sony cans for £300 I expect a louder pair of cans just saying I wanna blast my ears to rock and roll and I just can't do with the volume booster it just distorts the sound and as much as I know wires are a pain in the ass but the sound quality alone alongside a DAC and a inbuilt amplifier to get a nice volume kick from it if a car can do over 100db on a sound system why can't I listen to rock and roll music at the same level I hate Bluetooth due to the bloody restrictions media volume limit Makes it louder but it's still not that loud I had a thx DAC amp dongle oh my god that thing is plenty of power could easily run 60ohm at a decent listening experience I tried it on my Sony xm4 headphones let's just say don't g further than 40% volume it's almost too loud but you want some Lee way for hip hop and rock and roll songs
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I agree, I have the moon river 2 DAC amp for on the go and the Topping A90D/Topping D90SE for home use. You can easily spend $1000 and get better sound wired, but most people are looking for the wireless convenience. You can easily turn up the volume without distortion with the right wired setup. I was thinking on doing a video discussing this… The 5909 headphones are a nice pair of headphones, for those who don’t want to deal with wires on the go. It’s easily one of the closest pairs of headphones to listening wired. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! The 5909 is pretty hard to beat, they sound really good. I have a few 5909 videos coming vs the Focal Bathys and the Bowers & Wilkins PX8.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! The price is the one thing that makes certain wireless headphones hard to recommend. Wired headphones will go on forever l, while wireless headphones have a much shorter life span. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Welcome back! I would give it a good 24 hours of use… You’ll start noticing a difference after a few hours of use. You can play music in the background (without you actually listening to them) to let the headphones break in as well. After that you should be good to go! Let us know what you think when you break them in!
Don’t be a stranger!
how do they compare to the B&O Beoplay H95s?
Do you find the volume to be low. It's high, but not loud.
@@camarykaren same questions here, do you own ML 5909 or heard from someone who does about the loudness thing?
@@DelonteM It does - thanks again!
I think NC of ML is good enough for travel. I prefer average NC than average sound quality like Bose or Sony.
Would you say the Bose noise cancelling is better than the 5909s?
I hope this helps!
but why? if you want a headphone with cable you can certainly get the same for less...the whole point of this is the portability of wireless and ANC.
sound stage was not even close.... ML sounded great........ Oh and thank you for the awesome review!
The ML headphones are on a completely different level, lol. The AirPods Max by themselves sound good, but you can definitely hear the difference in a side by side comparison. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video!
In terms of ANC and transparency mode Airpods max egdes ML 5909 but when it comes to sound it's not even close ML 5909 just blitz them effortlessly.
Thanks for Vid my Man! I'm sold on the 5909 and just put an order in Crutchfield using accumulated points on CC. So in short I just paid tax and shipping on the 5909s. Your Vid made my choice much easier
Nice video bro, and may I know where 5909 are made from? Many thanks
I appreciate you taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!
Each their own, as long as you get what you need while listening… I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
nice audio tests..!!! Thank you.
No problem! I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
@@DelonteM Thank you ever so much. I'm delighted to hear you are already considering the comparison between those two pairs.

If you actually compare sound quality and not compare cost the 5909 are by far the better sounding Headphone specifically when you use a loss less play source ,
Do you 5909 doesn’t seem like it should cost twice as much as the Apple earphones.
Again, a very good product test man!

@@Mark_Levinson_5909 Thanks for sharing your experience with the headphones.
To me, that the 5909 don't have an ecosystem makes them the better, as they work with anything. Air pods Max are for iOS users, simple as that.
It certainly gave me all the answers I wanted. But I have to go out and do some testing in a store. Because I really want to know how they sound.

@@DelonteM absolutely not your channel is Fire 🔥 because you bring the best items no cheap stuff all the best straight killer no filler. You’re the one that made me buy the Beoplay EQ last month and my AirPods Over the summer so I thank you for that and you haven’t steered my wrong yet just wasn’t sure if these sound that much better hard to tell on TH-cam even With your microphone setup and sound samples. I just don’t know how and where to sample these I’m person whiteout actually buying them like you said and returning them if I don’t think they are worth the difference in price but sound is priority number one for me ultimately and comport second priority so I don’t feel warring fatigue. Thanks for your feedback and response it’s greatly appreciated. Last question which truly wireless earbuds do you honestly think have the best sound for HipHop and Reggae music 🎶 overall?
I don't think the ML is good with iPhone as Apple do not use lossless codec.
The No 5909 headphones are hi-res certified as well, which means it can play the lossless music above CD quality. You will need to be wired, but you can get hi-res, lossless music using Apple devices. I hope this helps!
The technique headphone have far better sound cancelations then both these almost as good as the Sony
Are you talking about the Technics A800? I was going to do a review of them, but did not know if people still wanted to see that review.
@@DelonteM yes they are really good for the money , the sound canceling is on par with those of the Sony but the sound quality is so much betterand the mic is probably the best and that is coming from a person who owns the 5909's , focal ,PSB m4u8 mk2 , but my favorite headphones at the moment are my Final Audio Sonorous X with them connected to my RAAL the sounds amazing
@@rdeh1678 The Technics A800 are a really good pair of headphones, I was really surprised by them! The Sonorous X look really nice. I may have to try them out… I’ve been going back and forth with adding wired headphones to the channel…
5909 sweeps the floor. Apple's got nothing on these.
I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Please don't call it genuine leather, that is the lowest quality leather, pretty sure the use top grain or full grain leather
Thanks for taking the time to watch! the headphones are made with premium leather and automotive-grade metallic painted ear cups. I needed to make the correction on the ear cups as well.
@@DelonteM Never expected a response so that's 👍 What I meant is that they have a high quality top grain leather or a full grain leather. Genuine leather is typically scraps that have been chemically treated to look and feel like High quality leather, yet they are nowhere near as durable as top grain or full grain
@@SindreWinæs I appreciate the correction! I’ll pin a comment so everyone can see that was in error. I try to reply to as many comments as I can, that’s the least I can do for you all taking the time to watch. I appreciate you!
It's an insult to Mark Levinson to compare it to an Apple product.
Lol. 5909 blow the apple away.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video! The 5909 is pretty hard to beat, they sound really good. I have a few 5909 videos coming vs the Focal Bathys and the Bowers & Wilkins PX8.
Too expensive no matter the quality.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! The price is the one thing that makes certain wireless headphones hard to recommend. Wired headphones will go on forever l, while wireless headphones have a much shorter life span. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Bruh I got the 5909, mines don't sound that good yet 🤦🏿♂️how long you think it should take before they break in?
Welcome back! I would give it a good 24 hours of use… You’ll start noticing a difference after a few hours of use. You can play music in the background (without you actually listening to them) to let the headphones break in as well. After that you should be good to go! Let us know what you think when you break them in!
I hope it must've opened up now, how do you think the sound is?
