have always loved the mysterious, dream-like and chilled out sound of a vibraphone! The first thing I think of though when I hear it is the 1960's! It was used a LOT in TV shows and the like, back then! lol. (Always with the tremelo on).
Used on "This Time" By Troy Shondell in 1962 And the first and last note of "Deep Night" by Rudy Vallee in 1929.th-cam.com/video/jGe22lEYPj0/w-d-xo.html
Vibraphones are the splash of modern color (like raspberry red or plum purple) used to contrast the dark, greasy, hard-nosed black and white and brass that comes with jazz music. It gives it a more modern sensibility.
Relative to grip, the performer should use the grip that best suits his or her talent; however, it's most important to know both for teaching purposes and for various musical roles where one grip might work better than the other. I've fought with this idea but have come to the realization it's what is best for yourself and the musical message you're trying to convey. JW
I heard this melody long time ago. But I can't remember when, where, the year, in a movie, in some radio program, I'd like to know more about this wonderful piece.
The reasons not to use Stevens have never made a lot of sense to me. Some people say chords work better with Burton, but I haven't had that experience. I've also heard that Burton is easier on vibraphone if the vibes aren't height adjustable, but I haven't had that problem since I'm barely over 5 feet tall. To each their own!
Eye of the beholder and the lonely from bernard herrmann on the twilight zone brought me here. Great job ny the way. How much does a decent set up cost?
Curiously watching vibraphone videos just cus I used to play back in high school. Anyways I came across your video and it sounded oddly familiar... then it hit me. It reminds me of that popular TikTok song “Supalonely” by Benee. Hmmm.
- Me* In the last 5 minutes: caught an unknown "pitched percussion instrument" that appeared on a youtube video. -> Getting to know what is "Vibraphone" - Same me at the last 1 minute: Wow this instrument would make my beat sounds better, should I get one tomorrow. - Vibraphone: Standard price start from ~$4000. - Okay (Searching for Vibraphone VST instead)
Very nice composition, Daniel. Fine technique and great job with pitch bending. Looks like you're using an old fiberglass Musser mallet for that. It works well. I also like your choice of mallets at the beginning. May I inquire as to the brand and model? Keep up the great work.
I didn’t know what a vibraphone was until 5 minutes ago. This is the first video I watched. I think I chose the right one. This is a niiiice vibe
video gamer69 oh yeah yeah
Swans Soundtracks for the Blind
Pun intended?
Same
nice pun
Forget all those sleep meditation videos, I’m going with this
With headphones it sounds hypnotic.
For some reason it reminds me of the movie soul
similar to the isochronic tone videos out there
imagine how it must sound like in the room...
😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫

Right, I heard it for the first time in the episode "The Lonely". It's the theme for the entire episode. Something about it is super lovely.
Bernard Herrmann used it in the Twilight Zone, Lost in Space, and the film Twisted Nerve, among others
@@Fablins-kt9ti Stones used it in Monkey Man

i will always appreciate that vibes are the only instrument who's name describes their character
Here for my music exam. Need to identify a Vibrophone but didn't expect the instrument to make such beautiful sounds! Made my day!
What a beautiful piece! Somehow brought me to the memories of summer time I spent around the lake.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad I could invoke such fond memories for you!
Makes me tearful. Beautiful piece.
You have had your hearts fully regenerated.
Vibraphones sound so lush. Literally perfect sample-able sounds for any downtempo, lounge, trip hop, deep house etc. Gorgeous sound and performance.
Almost looks like its alive with those fans spinning inside like that. Like a heartbeat
One of the best sounds from a percussion instrument ever
Using that other mallet to dampen and flatten the sound is super creative. Nice performance!
Right? I thought that was so cool!
I used to love doing that when I played the vibraphone at school.

A pig and a horse doing neat stuff brough me here.

Alonso Martinez great minds think alike
The video you've referenced is called Morning Mood and it was made by Tabuley.
@@manuelvargas9737 Yeah mate
Makes me emotional.
So beautiful a sound is the Vibraphone. Thank you.
The sound really reminds of Mario galaxy!!! The blue star that pulls you in when you aim at it and he the "a" button on the Wii remote lol
Very nice job with a beautiful sound. Vibraphone always reminds me of 70's era John Williams film music, such as from the Eiger Sanction movie.
I love the sound the Vibraphone makes
Oooo another Vibraphonist named Daniel! You did so amazing!
I'm gonna make it to that level someday...
You definitely captured the vibe of dreamland!
I have many immagines when i close my eyes, too beautiful.
This is brilliant! Outstanding job.
I really love the music you create.
Beautiful piece of music! Great camera angles too, showing how the speed of the rotating fan blades corresponds with the tremelo effect.
Gorgeous song, just dripping with sublimeness
what a magical instrument
The most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
Absolutely enchanting...wish i could afford a vibraphone
really cool pitch bending!!! love the composition and execution, thanks for sharing :)

Came here after watching Rick Beato interview with Gary Burton and I did not know what a vibraphone is, glad to have a new discovery
Beautiful piece.
Two words: "morning mood".
Understand how you want.
OwO
fuckin hell, tabuley huh?
Indeed. :)
I read it as morning wood 💀
Beautiful, really powerful effect
This is so hypnotic, it makes me feel like I'm before the port of heaven, but then I woke up from my dream.
Just recently moved to mallet from trumpet and this is my FAVORITE instrument to play now ❤️
This is brilliant! MOAR VIBRAPHONE!
The bendy thing using the harder beater is not something I've seen before. And I love it!
Beautiful and subtle piece Daniel..!

It's great to see you performing instead of teaching. This is amazing!
I heard this melody long time ago. But I can't remember when, where, the year, in a movie, in some radio program, I'd like to know more about this wonderful piece.
such a nice sound. i love it
yippee at last some vibrato its what the vibraphone sound is to me !
yea, not enough vibrato
This music is so soothing thanks for the relaxing moment. I appreciate it! :)
Ambient vibez. Reminds of me old Aphex Twin.
I love the vibraphone
It's weird to see someone using Stevens grip on a vibe. I've been told all my life to use Burton grip. Only on vibes and glockenspiel though.
The reasons not to use Stevens have never made a lot of sense to me. Some people say chords work better with Burton, but I haven't had that experience. Love the Vibes. A wonder about transcribing Russian Orthodox choral music for vibes.
Beautiful piece!
i want to go out to the bay at dusk, sit out on the dock, and listen to this
My eternal mood
Very beautiful work! ❤️🎶❤️🎶
Very nice!
Daniel this piece is magnificent. I sent you an email just now about purchasing the sheet music. Keep it up!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing!
Silent Hill mood... Great piece!
Chill Mood i'm dreamin' a lot right now so beautiful we need music like that
My neighborhood church plays this instrument Sunday mornings, very Heavenly.

Eye of the beholder and the lonely from bernard herrmann on the twilight zone brought me here. Great job ny the way. How much does a decent set up cost?
This is fire 🔥
awesome!
3:21 I didn't know you could bend the notes.
GEIL ❤
This is so amazing. Thank you so much ❤
I reminded of Gino Vannelli, Storm At Sunup. My folks vinyl collection.
Sounds like something lofi artists would use
What’s “lofi”?
relaxing at best
Possibly the most underrated instrument... I hate marimbas but I love these.
what? marimbas RULE
Real Tallented Vibraphone Player.....☺️
beautiful
Thank you!
nice solo
Amazing

Who searched "vibraphone"
I have been curious what this instrument was practically my whole life, but it just seemed synthesized from something else
Hi! Where can I buy the sheet music for this ? Thanks !

Never knew lo-fi was naturally posible in vibraphone.

Wow…
so strong vibrato - looks like its rotation engine inside made it
Is it ok if I sample this for a song? I'll give you credit
