This is why Ten is the main dancer of NCT. He’s very talented in dancing...and everything else.
Ten dancing? It’s like even he dance with a bunch of people, you still notice him. He always stood out, he is that good. 😍
Ten is absolutely otherworldly. There is no way to describe him that could encapsulate his essence. Just being able to see and hear him is a privilege and an honor. ❤️ Great content as usual RJ thank you
"Dream in a Dream" is the perfect example of what makes Ten such a phenomenal dancer. Even though Ten looks like he must have been a trained ballet or contemporary dancer, really his dance training was in hip-hop and he was a gymnast when he was a kid. So Ten's dance style is really just pure talent. More recently he has taken a few ballet lessons and he is starting to become interested in contemporary dance, but he doesn't have a background in those styles. He is just really good at interpreting what he hears, sees and feels through the movement of dance.
And even as a solo project, if you notice everything he does is centered on NCT's dream concept.
Even though Ten is Thai, he also has Chinese heritage. He was made a member of WayV because his grandparents are Chinese, so that is where you get his melding of cultures.
Fun fact: The other guy you see wandering around in the background, who is sort of silhouetted in the MV, that was Lucas -- fellow NCT-U, WayV and SuperM member. Lucas appeared as a special extra in Ten's MV even before he debuted. So at that point Lucas was still only considered a trainee. It was SM's way of preparing us for his introduction into NCT. Lucas debuted in 2018 in NCT-U's "Boss" MV. :D
The choreography is a little different in the dance practice than what you see in the MV because the dance practice is the "Station version," which is a special performance that was done for SM Station 2 years after they recorded the MV. However, if you want to see the choreography for the MV better, you can watch the original dance practice that was recorded at the same time as the MV. :D
The backup dancers are SM dancers.
The two dancers in the choreography practice video are the japanese dancers Yumeki and Karin. Yumeki is the guy and the choreographer. These two were doing dance workshops in Korea when they were contacted by a SM staff asking them to hold a workshop only for Ten in the SM building. There is a story saying they canceled their flight back to give this class. Anyway, there is even a practice behind of this video, it is really fun.

New Heroes mv choreo was freestyle by the way. English is Ten's second language so don't ever be surprised if his songs are in such. It makes sense in a way.

Ah yes New Heroes!! This song is absolutely one of my favorite kpop songs ever and my fav Ten song! His voice, his dancing and the mv are all absolutely gorgeous! Like seriously I could listen to this song all day!

I feel like you watched a great 3 videos in order to exemplify his versatility! Ten is a freaking STAR. He's just too good.
All of his dance videos like the three that there are I believe where after his surgery so Ten just wanted to make sure the world knew he was back and he still had it.
Fun fact: The lights Ten uses in his "New Heroes" MV are similar to the lights Super Junior uses in their "Burn the Floor" performance.
"New Heroes" isn't just mostly in English, it's all in English. ;D Almost all of Ten's solo songs are in English because Ten grew up attending an international school in Thailand which was run by British educators, so he spoke English in school. He is almost better at English than he is his native Thai. LOL And if you notice, when he speaks English he has a slight British accent/pronunciation of some words. Ten is fluent in Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin.
You should also check out the dance practice for "New Heroes," th-cam.com/video/DtO1TlSQPxg/w-d-xo.html. Fun fact No. 2: The dance practice choreography is different than what you see in the MV because in the MV Ten's dancing is freestyle and in the dance practice it has been choreographed to use some of his original freestyle movements and adds in backup dancers and some choreographed elements. The dance practice is what he performed/performs at music shows and in concert. But the MV is all just Ten feeling the music and interpreting the song with his body. :D
That is why Ten is NCT's main dancer and the one with the most solo projects, because he is such a great performer and he has such beautiful vocals, that SM has chosen to showcase his talents.
The two dancers in the "Coco Chanel" video are Japanese dancers and the guy is the one who choreographed this dance.

I just love how I can see Ten's love for the Step Up franchise, in Step Up you can see various types of dance styles and I think that's the reason why he wants to learn/do every kind of dance out there.
I always forget that Ten started with hip hop first and it's something to see man.

I've seen comments on it before and long suspected it myself that at the time Ten did the choreography video for Dream within a dream and the devil's dance practice it would have been right after he recovered from knee surgery.
I do believe Ten has done ballet when he was younger but we never learned how much training he actually had. His dancer teachers from Thailand certainly loved him they actually told him not to go to Korean because he had an opportunity to go to the US and continue dancing.

Dream in a dream is one of my fav songs so far, it's such a calming song and it helps me work well or even write sometimes. My niece said that Ten is a prince. Also Ten has a very unique voice, I know who is is just by listening to his voice.
I think; not forcing you just suggesting, that you would love to see Dream within a dream x New Heroes live it is a treat for the eyes.

Ten learned the coco choreo in one day they choreographer is one of the dancers and said it was fun teaching Ten lol. I think I think they stayed back just to teach Ten the choreo before heading back to Japan lol. No one at me I saw this either on TH-cam or Instagram.
i love that you're getting into ten's dance videos..sad that there aren't any uploads on youtube anymore but he does post choreos on his instagram. would also love for you to check out all of taeyong's freestyles in a video, he's incredibly good at it. as expected from two of the main dancers of nct!

I don’t know about the dancer on the right but the dancer on the left is from 1 million dance studios. He’s Japanese and his name is Yumeki. I really love him. You’ll find him as a back up dancer in a lot of SM music videos. He is also a choreographer.

TEN IS AMAAAZING!! You should start watching Fancams too!! I like Jaehyun's fancams the best bc they really show Jaehyun's dancing abilities! I recommend Kick it Jaehyun fancam (Music Bank 200626) and also the one where the background is white! (ALL THE K-POP Jaehyun Kick It Fancam) Try other fancams with other songs as well :))

I am sooooooo glad you did the dance practice for dream within a dream - the MV is a total vibe and beautiful but the actual dance should be seen as it’s so intricate, creative, stunning and you are totally 💯 that Ten is completely mesmerising in this choreo.
KUN has some instrumental songs that are so cinematic and amazing, highly recommend you add them to your to listen to list - Gu REN GUI is my fav.

Also the As You Wish mini drama scene he did is so cute I think you would enjoy. (All the SuperM members filmed a literal 5-6min kdrama mini each with their own story and they are amazing. Bae, Kai and Taeyong are my favs but they all were fab although Lucas left me with a plot twist lol)

Lucas has literally been there for just about every huge moment for Ten in his career. His first solo (dream in a dream MV) . His Chinese sub unit. And so much more. I love their friendship.
