    This video brings up a sore point for me. We sold part of our farm to a golf course development. Our beautiful French Colonial home was to be part of a new club house complex. The owners had to sell to a new owner, and they tore down a section of the house that was kitchens and staff apartments, this made sense. . The remaining and principal part was 8700 sq feet. Then the second owners sold out to a third owner. That group, without our knowledge tore down the principal part. If I had know I'd have it moved to land we still owned on the same parcel. Even it if cost $100k it would have been a good deal.

    ha we moved an entire block of row houses in st.louis, years ago. picked them up all in one lift and moved them back to allow more roadway. they are still there and all been remodeled. moving houses is a back breaking meticilous endeavor.

    Something like this must cost a ton! :-0 After completing this video, it seems like all in, you could be at 100-200K between the moving, getting an engineer to assure the foundation is solid, Plumbing, re-wiring, potentially some remodeling, correcting any cracking and of course...buying the land. If you could find land in a nice neighborhood where homes are valuable, it could be worth it. I would be curious to know how a house like this would be assessed taxes. There's a lot to consider and likely a lot of sneaky expenses.

    Thanks for posting this; I loved the valentine house video and I have been looking for land in the Kentucky / Tennessee area. I currently live on the west coast and already knew you could move houses, even some distance. Sadly this video did alert me to the fact that back east you guys clutter everything with overhead connections and if I grabbed one of the six houses from that video there is no feasible way to move it the needed distance.

      We realized this too after we did this video! Not something all areas have problems with... Good luck and thanks for watching.

    From what I see, Wolf has the right equipment and does the setup right, in order to move structures. I would feel confident letting them move structures from what I see in the video and what I hear in the phone call.

    How do you find these free houses I live in Arizona and have four kids who all still live at home and would love to find a free house or one for hardly anything because I am barely making it taking care of my large family and it's hard to find a place to rent and am tired of renting and fixing up the houses we rent and don't own with money out of my pocket..

    This is so interesting, and I'm glad they put this together! But I have to say, her verbal feedback, "uh huh" "okay" "mm hmm" is almost distracting and throws him off at times! Her questions are good, but her reactions are kind of timed weird!

    I need a large shed moved from Texas to Missouri. I am wondering if I should take it apart and ship it and rebuild it. Probably cost a few $1,000. Maybe better to buy materials and just build another one.

    What's the cost of moving a house ? $$$

    • @asialynn3845
      @asialynn3845 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      He said a minimum of about $15-20 thousand and that's a small easy move. He said the average house is around $30-40 thousand which isn't bad if you are getting a beautiful free house I sure wish I had that kind of money to buy land and have one of these free houses moved. You would still need to have the utilities and lines disconnected then reconnected. You need money basically to do this but if you're getting a mansion in livable condition I'd go for it.

      asia lynn thats cheap we charge 15000 just to lift a house up 7 feet for them to put a foundation under.

      It depends on house size, frame or brick, how far it needs moved, and if trees or utilities need to be temporarily moved. Cost can be $15,000 for a small structure including the utility disconnect and reconnect on the new slab, to millions if it is a complex stone or brick, utilities (phone and electric wires) need to be rerouted or temporary disconnected, and roadways need to be cut to accommodate the house/building size. The houses I moved were in the $100,000 range - small brick or stone, not a long distance to move, and an easy path to move the structure.

    Wow $30k or more to move a house? That's alot!! I love old homes but at that expense is it worth it? Like the gentleman said in the interview, unless they are of some historical value it may be best just to tear it down and in my opinion scrap it for parts.

    • @PrimateProductions
      @PrimateProductions 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      imari2305 that would depend..if you had a home you had obtained for free such as those in the other video and their worth far exceeds $30 thousand (house might be worth couple hundred thousand) then absolutely it would be worth it!
