Hmm, a lot of these strategies are great! but I'm a bit skeptical about some of the "more X equals better rankings" (i.e. embeds) because just because two metrics are correlated, it doesn't mean A causes B. For example, a video doing very well could LEAD TO more embeds, not necessarily the other way around! It could even be factor C (or more) causing Both A and B!

Time is your best friend. If you publish a video with a good thumbnail and title that you are sure off will drive traffic to that video, no matter what, after a period of time your video will begin to rank. If your video starts ranking at #40 and 10% of the people seeing your video click on it (and stay for a good % of your video) youtube will boost your video. You could get #30 and even more people click on your video now! If the video keeps doing great, they will give you that sweet #1 spot. :)

For sure. Correlation isn't always causation. That said: embeds can't hurt. So to me, they're worth doing.
