It's a protest song against authoritarian governments, it tells the story of a rebel who was hunted down by the authorities, even though he was killed, he inspired others to rise up.

There is a name that is relevant in this song and it is the reason for it VICTOR JARA he was a very representative figure of a social and cultural movement called the Nueva Trova, when the dictatorship was imposed in CHILE and its president was deposed with weapons during the night the Armed Forces were mobilized and they were sent to arrest the political dissidents among them VICTOR JARA along with 12 thousand other people and taken to the soccer stadium in Santiago de CHILE he was murdered in a brutal and barbaric way they cut him off the fingers of his hands and they ripped out his tongue so that he could never sing again while he bled to death and the soldiers laughed he was assassinated this song is a tribute to him and all those who protest in the world

Brilliant Argentinean Ska band! The song talks about political oppression in Argentina, and specific mentions the death of singer-songwriter Victor Jara, who was publicly executed in a stadium for his political activism. I saw the band live a few years ago, and they put on an incredible party for such a serious message.

They shot him 44 times to kill him, but they made him eternal. Also they cut both of his hands, and i will never forget that.
