- My mom & I went houseplant shopping at a new nursery called Cactus & Tropicals. This was our first time shopping for indoor plants at this location & the nursery is HUGE & BEAUTIFUL! They had so many rare, unique, popular, & trendy plants for indoors. OMG a Ficus Audrey a plant i had but died on me after i went on vacation. I wanted one because its the name of my daughter. Youre sooo lucky its an absolutely gorgeous plant!! i love all your plants they are gorgeous
This is also my favorite Nursery. That place is paradise to me. I could just go sit in there for hours. I love the earthy sweet smell. I really got into houseplants at the end of summer. I now have 82 plants not counting propagating projects. I love your channel! It's cool to see you go to my favorite places too!

Curly spider plants and their babies! Yes! Please share your plans for them🤔 I have about 5babes from 2 different plants still on the stem(in an antique med bottle,so cool,but don't have a camera to show u)and feel stalled cuz I'm scared of the next move! That's such a cute nursery. The boyfriend and I love going to Utah for the 5th water hot springs and In n' Out burgers so I'll have to check this place out next time I go. The hoya you got is so pretty and full

Sue Bunneee! You brought me good luck, girl! I, too, found a Hoya 'Mathilde', H. australis 'Lisa' AND a Hoya 'Bella' in the early morning hours yesterday morning! I was messing around on Etsy, EBay, etc., when SUDDENLY, an amazing number of lesser heard of hoyas started popping up for sell! I felt like I was dreaming; but, it was all real & I'm immensely excited! OMG! I became a maniac! I'm not EVEN telling you guys how many new babies that I have on their way here! (I don't mean to sound "braggy"; but, there are even a few of my wish list plants coming to live with me!!! A couple of aroids with the initials, P.P.P., are on their way or will be very soon!) I'm so HAPPY; but, kind of scared, too! No...they aren't variegated Monsteras! I'm as excited as if they were, tho! Thanks for bringing good luck to me! Most times, I wouldn't have even been on there looking around at stuff; but, I'm amazingly glad that I was! 🌱💜

Nice haul, Harli! Cool place! Is that Satin Pothos loving life, or what!?!?! I'd LOVE to have something to climb my big, tall, wide chimney to add some character to it! (Maybe a Monstera? Maybe a VARIEGATED Monstera!?!?!? OMG, that would be so amazing!) This chimney SURE needs SOMETHING! I can't wait for the trip you make to the Provo location! You guys should do a really thorough shopping video on that trip. You know, focusing on cool groups of specific plants & how "Cactus & Tropicals" displays them. That would be so much fun! I thought that you already had a Calathea 'White Fusion' that you ordered from somewhere online...or not, oh, well! I love your 'Audrey,' sooo much; but, of course, the Hoya Carnosa 'Tricolor' is such a stunning plant! The Crocodile fern is a new one to me. I really like it, too! I started to order a 'Bonnie' spider plant a few weeks ago and then I backed out. Yours is a very pretty one. I think my most favorite (other than the hoya) is definitely the variegated Kangaroo Fern! I desperately need that plant IN MY LIFE! I love these two videos that you guys made. Arrowhead plants (Syngonium sp.) are so easy to care for and propagate.
You can let them dry out almost completely despite what many books say (I've had them droop and recover on many occasions), and cuttings root 100% of the time in a jar of water.

I love them all, but I looooove the last fern!! Reminds me of my birds nest fern but with more matte, different textured leaves. LOVE IT! That place was adorable

Harli G it probably will be! The less dainty ferns are not as finicky in my experience. My maidenhair fern is the biggest drama queen but is surprisingly still alive over a year later 😂 you should do an update video on it after a few months
I live right down the street from the second Cactus and Tropicals location in Draper, definitely give it a try before going all the way to Provo! Funny enough, I also grabbed their last Pilea Peperomioides. Sorry not sorry! ;)

Love you & mom's excitement when you go plant shopping. Finding a tropical/cactus nursery in the middle of winter is just awesome! Love the vines hanging from the ceiling. Do you always put your new plants by your old ones? I am always concerned about pests, so mine get quarantined until I know they are pest free.
I just bought another Hoya Carnosa Tricolor Crimson Queen. I have a large one that I gave had for 4 years. Hopefully it will bloom this spring.

HPE Teacher I inspect them very very closely when I first bring them home! I also wipe down all of their leaves with my cleaning mixture & so far I haven’t had issues. I should definitely be better about it though!
I have had plants that I bought that looked healthy and wound up paying the price. Just very careful not to infest the rest of my plants. Losing one plant is not as bad as all of them.

Pilea plants are SO common here in MI! They’re in almost all grocery stores/nurseries around me and they usually stock a bunch! Makes sense why I saw some on Etsy last night for so expensive! 😱 Makes me reconsider not ever buying one 🤔 haha!

I feel the fern struggle! I couldn’t resist an adorable crispy wave fern I found a few months ago, and I just don’t know if the poor thing is going to make it. 🙁 That crocodile fern is so pretty, though!

Loved the nursery and the plants you bought, but quick question on the plants in the car.....does the nursery NOT cover them for you from protection from the cold going into the car and then from car to house??? I know it has to be cold enough as you are in the mountains and its got snow out. I live in Canada and every time I bought plants at nurseries they cover them for me, or when I buy myself at walmart I make sure there is one or two bags over top of them. Even the big ass plants walmart will give me big plastic bags to put them in. Just curious as some plants I know are extremely sensitive to cold and would hate for them to be frost bitten
michelle schafer they did offer to cover them, but I declined because I don’t want to waste more plastic than necessary to cover the plants! They really are only in the old for 5 minutes max and So far I have not seen a negative impact on the plants as a result of not covering them on the way to the car 😊 it is very cold here though!
@@HarliG well I'm glad there was no negative impact on them.....I would be scared of that. Actually the one nursery covers them with paper bags. I recycle so I'm ok that way.
