    I’m 72 years old and I’ve been watching basketball my entire life. I have seen the Harlem Globetrotters Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Dave Cowins through Marvin Webster Shaq, Moses Malone, pistol Larry Magic and all the other greats. Jokic is most definitely the greatest floor raiser I’ve ever seen. he’s in the top 20 already doesn’t need to do another game. Could be in the top five by the ends….

      Not true though is it, Teams generally want a big that can score, defend and pass, and that has been the case for the longest time. In his case the team lucked out and found a big that can score and pass at a high level but the profile of Wembanyama is more attractive than the profile of Jokic, granted Wemby is young and his game still has to evolve, but in theory he's a big that can be(probably already is) the best defender in the league while also scoring 26+ and dishing out 5+ assists in his prime, with the ability to shoot 3 point shots at league average level, that my friend is more of a perfect basketball player than anyone currently playing basketball, is not ever. In reality Jokic, Giannis and Embiid are the most sought after type of player before Wemby, hence they have won the last however many MVPs between them and each year you could hade a strong argument for the two that did not win it.

    • @rorydougherty
      @rorydougherty หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I’d have to say Jordan and Kobe were right there with him offensively. They may not have been as good a passer or playmaker as Jokić, but they were better all around scorers and were excellent passers and play makers in their own right. Jokic is more efficient obviously, but he should be considering he’s a center, operating mostly on the low block, taking higher percentage shots than them. So I’d agree with you that Jokic is the greatest offensive weapon of all time… right there with Mike and Kobe.

    Most intelligent analysts (not racist idiots like Gilbert Arenas) a;ready have Jokic in the 20-25 best all time range. With another MVP--almost a certainty now--he moves into top 15 territory. He just turned 29 with a game that will age well. One more chip and another 5 years of All NBA level play and he's got a very strong argument for top 10. Only 8 players ever have 3 MVPs, a chip, and a finals MVP on their resumes. Just 8. He'll soon be the 9th. By that measure he's already top 10

      Good analysis. I agree with all of it. Logical and factual. I think of Wilt Chamberlain and how dominating he was and he only won 1 championship, and that late in his career. Hakeem Olajuwon was my favorite center for years (until Jokic because of his passing) and Hakeem only won 2 championships (only - LOL) and those were when Michael Jordan was out of the league following his father's death. Jokic should be top 10 (definitely top 20) in 5 years if he remains healthy. He'll have 20,000 plus points and 10,000 plus rebounds, easily.

      it kinda is unfair to compare resumes. He is playing in Denver, not in LA or the Boston.
      He likely would have 2 chips already if not for that one season where literally everyone was hurt...
      It is only because of him they can attract some proper role players and became a somewhat attractive market to begin with.
      Ask the mavs about these struggles when they tried to build around Dirk or now Luka.
      So, i'd say, context matters in the resume department :)

      - Jackson is 33

      6 of those 8 will 100% still be playing in 6-7 years. MPJ, Braun, Murray, Watson will still be in their primes - and potentially Jokic too seeing as his style of play doesn't rely on explosiveness.

      You clearly don't know anything about basketball calling Jokic "the weakest MVP" haha. Jokic averaged 30-12.5-9.5 in this last playoff run and was the first player to lead all players in the playoffs in NBA history in points, assists, and rebounds. He also has 3 of the 4 highest box plus minuses in NBA history and he has done that in the last 4 years. His career box plus minus is also the highest of all time above MJ at 2 and Lebron at 3. Stop embarrassing yourself haha

    Yes. Jokic is Magic AND Bird AND Hakeem AND Duncan. He's now #1 in career PER, #1 in career Box plus minus, #1 in career win shares per 48. That's #1 in the nearly 80 year history of the league in ALL of those categories. Ahead of Jordan, ahead of LeBron, ahead of Wilt and Russell and Magic and Bird and Curry and Kareem and EVERYONE EVER. He's not just gonna be "in the top 75, 30, 10, choose your number". He's the GOAT. Sorry if that makes you sad or angry. Truth is truth. "But he's only won 1 chip and 2 MVPs". For now. Just wait. And realize that the Jamal Murray ACL and MPJ back issues cost the Nuggets a legit shot at last year being potentially the Nuggets 3rd chip in a row AND COUNTING.

      MJ had the same thing with his team being decimated by injuries before they were finally healthy and won.

    Hastings is a great guy. Joker absolutely could get into the top 10 ever! Not there yet, but the opportunity is there.
