I collect both records and comics too. Budgeting is a nightmare but I'll feel like they both relieve stress for me. Cute cat btw.

How are the Grant Morrison stories? I’m just getting into comics. I’ve always been reading Japanese manga prior.
Of all the grant Morrison I own, all I’ve read is Batman Vol 1 and half of Vol 2. I enjoyed Volume 1. Grant is known for taking a bunch of stuff you forgot about from decades prior and infusing it in a meaningful way.
He’s like the Christopher Nolan of comics. You gotta make sure you’re paying attention, because every detail matters.

I haven't read the Aquaman omni yet, but I thumbed through it and loved the artwork. I'll probably read that as a palate cleanser once I finish Morrison's Batman run.

Finally got around to checking this out - great collection! I know you're all about the Bats, and I'll I have is a Long Halloween paperback (which is great!) so I've got a two part question for you: 1.) What's your favorite Bat omni generally? and 2.) If you had to choose between Loeb or Morrison specifically, which do you choose?
My vote is Loeb. My favorite depiction of Batman in any medium is the animated series, and Jeph Loeb’s run reminds me most of that. I haven’t read the Paul Dini omnibus yet, but I imagine it will rank high since he wrote many animated series episodes.
For a neophyte, not bad . I noticed that although you had most formats, you didn`t have an Absolute. If you`re going to start that format, please start with the Alan Moore Swamp Things. They are true works of art & great reads.
Watchmen is really worth the read . I understand your first reaction to it. When I read the first issue back in`86 I asked Myself, what the hell did I just read ? The second issue with the Comedian`s back -story & funeral is great. If you liked the movie , you`ll love the G.N. as it`s pretty much shot for the story except for the ending . Also, the Space Ghost animated series from the `60`s is worth seeking out . This is where the character started out. they were fun adventures .
You`re more trusting of your books than I am. My Trades & Hardbacks are bagged as well as the floppies. I`ve found you can put a standard sized Trade in a Silver -Age bag. A standard sized Hardback fits into a Golden-Age bag . Larger sized books go into Virgin polypropylene bags I order from Amazon. Not standard practice for other collectors but it gives Me more peace of mind. But even for a Comic Collector, I`m strange.
Haha I’ve stayed away from absolutes because my shelves are too small. I’ll be upgrading to IKEA Kallax in the new space, so maybe I’ll start grabbing them then.

How do I get a collection this big? on a buget
Did you have to reinforce the target shelf? Shelves are pretty thin but I like the price.
No, I didn’t reinforce them. The 3x2’s sway a bit when placed vertically; but I’ve never been afraid the shelves would collapse at all.

I’ve had the best luck on eBay, although the prices are higher than I usually like to spend. When the world opens up, you’d probably be good to check out flea markets or older shops that specialize in back issues.

What type of records do/did you collect
A little of everything. Mainly Soul (Motown, stax, philly international), Funk, Jazz (CTI, Blue Note), Black Rock (Sly Stone, Prince, EWF), etc. a little hip hop too.
Where did you get your comic boxes from?
My LCS gets them. Marvel usually issues new art boxes when bigger series/events launch.
If you don't have a local comic shop Newbury comics sells them if you have one in your area.
Do you still have those Star Wars Jason Aaron’s HD’s?
No. I sold them, and the omnibus went out of print the same week. So now I’m stuck with no Star Wars smh.
