    I've always wondered how these buildings remain empty with all the stuff inside. If it's been abandoned for a long time, either the government owns it or there is somebody somewhere that is paying the yearly property taxes but couldn't be bothered to do anything with the property.
    As much as I find these videos entertaining of showing off these supposed abandoned building, would love to have some videographers do more research into the past owners, that would make these types of videos complete.

    What a real shame... that was a beautiful house... now it's filled with black mold and old memories that only the homeowners and their guest could share...

    this was so amazing, i can't believe that any one could leave such a wonder place. i hope that someone will do something with it before it can't be fixed up. awesome. a great find.

    Would have been hilarious to stand completely still in that upstairs window staring down at those kids, they would have shat themselves I'm sure if it!! Lol!! What a great place, makes ya wonder what happened to the owners for sure!

    RNK I used to be a receptionist for land company. Go to real property in the county seat or city wherever this is. Get the address and they can look up the information on the property for you. Way to go RNK. I love how you respect the property and others don't.

      Catherine Yarton Agreed!! Respecting the property is what it's all about!! Only take photographs from a building!

      I think its alright to see these buildings as long as we don't know who owns it.

    • @CatherineYarton
      @CatherineYarton 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course we know your not going to tell us who owns them. Not unless you have the legal ok to do so. God Bless. Keep up the great work.

      Catherine Yarton love these tours...but my problem is ...I want to know all the answers..where ?why?what happened?legal battle?meanwhile this place is molding away and disrespected when it could be sooo delightful...of course it would now be a tear down on the east coast(owned a property on LBI in NJ) this must be in that Ny/NJ area because of the Stengl pottery in the kitchen and on the tables(made in Flemington NJ in the 1950's etc) Also very lovely Chippendale game table and chairs ....custom bedspreads etc. This is old school 1950-1970's seashore decor!!!! A real find!!!! And boy would I love to be there to trek through !!!!!

    Love ur vids guys. Upsets me knowing these houses are just sitting rotting with so many homeless. Sad just sad.

    • @76reliant
      @76reliant 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      So, if you just threw homeless in it, who pays for the rent, the utilities, the upkeep?

    • @pandorasbox7853
      @pandorasbox7853 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Captain Genius many homeless chose that life and will not live inside for one reason or another. Many are antisocial and don’t want to be with anyone but themselves

    • @Somethinglikethat2023

      Black mold unsafe and expensive to get rid of.

    • @TCampbell36
      @TCampbell36 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I get that. So many people being driven into poverty and homelessness and yet there are hundreds of thousands of empty homes just left to rot.

    • @beverlydavid581
      @beverlydavid581 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Captain Genius cap I also would love the answer to that. Any older and larger than average home required much upkeep. It takes a lot of money to maintain one of these, not counting the time to find the right contractor to do the job.

  • @dawnklug6986
    @dawnklug6986 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Likely an insurance buy out for black mold and major water damage. They pay and you move out with only real valuables as everything is considered contaminated.

    That house is unreal, I'm from Ireland and you would never find anything like that sitting empty. It's great I love your videos and the way you appreciate well made nice old stuff that's in some of these places. Take care you too, can't wait for the next video.

  • @bubblesangel555

    There's other's trying to break their way in, and don't succeed, while Kristy, and Robb watch them from the inside! What interesting place, full of all sorts of treasure's. It's in such a beautiful setting, the land will probably be sold, and this house bulldozed (with everything still inside) to make room for a new house. Another great video, thank's for taking me along! 🎈

    • @marysekely9571
      @marysekely9571 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it truly is abandoned and owned by no one, how can it get sold? Who gets the money? Exactly, the county owns it which makes what these two are doing illegal. They are breaking into it and trespassing. Not cool.

  • @BernieCookPilot
    @BernieCookPilot 6 ปีที่แล้ว +48

    Love your exploring of abandoned homes and businesses but do every one a favour and scare the shit out of these ass holes who brake windows and doors just to gain access and most likely vandalise often well preserved history thanks for sharing

    RNK: you can also go to your county's appraisal/tax website and look up the address and learn the names of all who once owned that home, square footage, year built. If it's in foreclosure the site would show the name of the bank or company. Thanks for the tour.....and the fright! Mercy yal'll be careful!

    One of the possibilities for the reason that this house was abandoned so quickly is they could have been told there was Toxic Black Mold! You cannot remove anything because it is highly TOXIC! You guys should really protect yourselves from places like this.

      If it is black mold it can kill you. I am a realtor and I take these kind of classes to protect my clients. If it is truly black mold, which it does look like it, I know of several incidents where the owners of homes go to clean this up without masks and they got that mold in their lungs when they disturbed it and died from it.

      The owner/owners could be in a nursing home and may yet return home. I don't like the idea of people going into other people's homes without permission. What if the owner shows up? I find it hard to believe this place wasn't locked.

      Paul Palumbo Jr most of the furniture was actually 70s some of it was 50s and some of it was from the 1800s it went all the way up to the 1980s. we had a microwave in 1970 maybe even 69 but I think it was 1970. we had a telephone in her huge console TV that you answered on the TV remote control and dialed on was really embarrassing when my friends came over.

      This home is by the ocean, which provides moisture which creates mold. Mold can grow in a matter of months. And I have seen many homes with mold in them and people are still living there.

      By "unattended" do you mean you do not even have anyone who maintains it? We have a small place in Water Mill, and although we might stay away for as long as three years at a time, we always have someone watching over it. These places, this one especially, seem very oddly and curiously neglected and as if suddenly.

      LOL except for the black mold, my house looks much worse than this house! Honestly I m o, doesn't look like it has been abandoned very long. It seems like someone was just hanging out at home and had to leave quickly , unable to return Wish we knew the story behind this house. I'm so nosy that it irritates me when explorers don't look up any history about these houses. I realize names and addresses wouldn't be appropriate but a little history would be nice:-)

    Great find and cool video. One thing I noticed was, there was no personal pictures or anything on the walls/tables. I think this was a place that was used to rent out, the beddings look a lot like it too. There maybe been a owner who had clothes there, to save traveling with it, else most things was plain, furniture and such as you would see in a house that is used for rent. Hence the note in bathroom too, if it was only one family, they didn't need to be reminded of the leak :)

      @Wilddaylilies 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t think it was an actual rental. They probably let friends and family use it though. We had a place at the beach and we left ours just like that every time we left. Looks like money got hard , bankruptcies etc and they never went back.

    I have to agree that it looks very recently abandoned; as within a few minutes. For starters, Trivial Pursuit wasn't commercially available until the 1980s. Second, the phone. After a while of being off the hook, landlines produce a louder, different dial tone. I also don't see a lot of dust in the place.

    • @gomezaddams6470

      Chris Nemec the phone is part of their trademark exclamation point anytime there's a landline they do that have a dial tone going and they hang the phone up! people wait for it to happen! It's a bit of humor perhaps a bit of creepiness added! wasn't really real LOL

    Have you ever been contacted by family/friends etc that are like “Hey, I know that house!!”? That would be pretty cool. That flat screen tv screams either “respectful squatter” or someone there trying to figure out what to do with the place (years ago). I don’t think that’s part of the actual owners property. It’s way too out of place imo. That’s for all the great ponderings. (BTW...I’m guessing it’s dust free because, obviously, dust is from people. Skin, gross. And it’s by a beach so maybe the air is pretty clean. Any abandoned spots I’ve seen on YT aren’t covered with thick dust layers.)
