in my opinion there are several arcade games in which the last boss is quite easy compared to the one before, it is generally due an intended mechanic used for the final that ends up being easily exploitable
I actually like the throws in this game. You have to lock up and then lift them the opponent in a somewhat reasonable time frame. Modern fighting games have spoiled us with how fast the characters throw each other. XD
Hearing the name 'Mutant Fighter', with no indication as to what the game is about, would have made me think it's a game like Street Fighter, but everyone has some mutations to them, like a guy with mantis arms or a wide mouthed venus fly trap woman or something.
The Hydra has the same sound effect as the Medusa from Clash of the Titans (Harryhausen version), which is a neat detail. The lack of any custom ending per character is fucking weak.
False advertising & lying title. *NONE OF THEM ARE MUTANTS!* Just a bunch of humans from different races fighting creatures from mythology *& an Archmage/Wizard!* Maybe the Minotaur is considered a mutant (a child between the Sea God Poseidon & the wife of King Minos) but the rest represent entire species! Do they even know what the word "mutant" means? So if I practice enough magic spells & become an Archmage does that make me a mutant? I guess Harry Potter & Sabrina the Teenage Witch & (That's So) Raven are mutants, too?
Well I believe that you are barking at the wrong tree, that's the name the developer give to his game. But the player never lie,he paass this game with no damage.
@@Kankan_Mahadi allow me to play that ever-so-insidious game of "Devil's Advocate" here= Mr. Hernandez's improper grammar may be attributed to him (perhaps) not having English as his native tongue, thus attempting, in his own way, mangled as it might be, to explain an actually solid point: the developers of this game, Data East Corp. were a Japanese company. this game is from 1991, one year before they got themselves far better translators and proofreaders for their games after hitting it relatively big with previous successes in "RoboCop", "The Real Ghostbusters", "Karnov", and "Bad Dudes"! so yes; lack of proper grasp of English and just using any words as long as they sound cool/marketable are the real culprits here! hope that helps...!
I don't know where the heck Japan got this idea, but for some reason what we call amazons they consistently call "amazonesses" over there. Maybe to distinguish them from the jungle or something?
Kind of a shame that the human fighters can only be fought with certain fighters. They should've had a bracket to fight the human fighters. And have the Doppelganger be fought in the stage where the fighter the player uses would normally be fought.

I probably would have mained Golem. I’m not always the huge tanky dude, but also being a golem is too much for me to resist.
The starting screen reminds me of Mega Man, except you select player characters instead of levels.

It's a 90's game. Anything with "mutants" was an easy sell to kids back then.
i remember golem was such a pain to take down by fighter or amazon bcoz his massive life bar and high defense which lead to time out n u lose

I wouldn't say stolen, it's an inspiration for Hercules as he was the final boss in Hippodrome turned protagonist in thos game.
I think having combos would've been better than having the characters constantly grappling and slapping each other like idiot school kids.
