There HAS to be a way to get this song into a hi-fi digital format. This is one of a handful of songs that is close to annihilation because of movie studio botch jobs. (If you enjoy R&B, look up Shanice's "It's For You" - same deal.
Holiday Road was the only single to promote the album and when it failed to make the Billboard 200 another single probably was considered to help with sales. June's first solo album Baby Sister was released in June 1983 with the movie release end of July 1983. I'm sure June had recorded this for her own album but was dropped. I'm So Excited was in the original movie release as it was popular on radio at the time, 1st released in summer 1982 then re-mixed and re-released on Pointer Sisters album Break Out! in late 1983. Since Warner owned rights to the soundtrack, June and Planet Records aka RCA records could not release the song as a stand-alone single. Early 80s record companies really didn't release singles on their own merits like they did later in the 80s. Singles were always marketed as promotional items for album sales growth. Especially, in a time of early 80s when sales of singles themselves were on the decline from the decade prior. That's my take of what happened...
wow National Lampoons Vacation is 40 years old this summer
One of my favorite scenes from the movie. 😆 What a voice this woman had. June Pointer was a huge talent.
there were 3 scenes in the movie they had this song
The Lovely June Pointer's voice. R.I.P.

I consider this song a precursor to yellow's Oh Yeah from Ferris Bullers day's off because both films involve Ferraris & lust.
