- In Power Book 2 Ghost one of the big threats this season in Ghost Season 4, is Detective Don Carter. Not only is he a dirty cop, he wants to control every drug dealer in the city with a massive 35% cut. So, in this breakdown, I run through Detective Carter's story arc in a bit more detail with Tariq vs Carter, how I believe he's the big bad of the season and the villain that Tariq really needs to worry about, perhaps even more so than Noma in Book 2 Ghost. But, come the end, will Tariq win? I think he'll need to tap into all the good parts of Ghost and all the bad parts of him, and so I think he needs to ask himself, what would Ghost do in this situation against someone like Carter in Power Book 2 Ghost Season 4.

She’s been losing her aura, she was only in 3 episodes last season but now she’s in every episode

I really hate that they keep comparing this dude with his dad. He isnt smart enough, he doesn't have the experience Ghost has, keeps giving people who does him wrong too many chances and way too young and full of him self to succeed. Tariq is a weak foolish entitled character who would've been in jail a long time ago

Ghost would’ve been took out the Tejadas. They’re only a threat to Tariq. Ghost and Tommy were handling mob bosses. Nobody knows who the Tejadas are outside of teenage versions of Ghost and Tommy aka Tariq and Brayden.

Carter can be got, but he is extremely formidable. He doesn't make a move unless he has it all planned out.
Zion did say Ghost knew how to solve a problem before it began; definitely would’ve got Carter in check or out of here , everyone at least has a weakness or soft spot you can leverage. Ghost ain’t really have a weakness because no one knew who he was he didn’t have much exposure unlike noma which I feel like she not even scary. If Tariq thinks like ghost, he needs to literally be a ghost. Stay off the radar until it’s time to go on the offensive. He does need to up his game but he can’t be sloppy going forward.

Carter connects the Tajedas with Salim's death. Diana has his car and has been calling him, so he raids Monet's home. This is why Diana has to save her family.
I think people keep comparing Tariq to James because Tariq keeps swearing that he is nothin like him. Ghost had a whole network. Tariq is still building. Idt Carter really KNEW Ghost. Ghost WAS loyal to those he cared about. He always looked out for them. Even when we thought he wasnt. How many times he saved Tommy even when they were beefing? He didnt kill innocents. He paid people off. He let people go also. Sean, Liliana, the girlfriend from episode 1. Every person Ghost took out deserved it. Nobody really knew who "Ghost" was, People thought Ghost was Tommy. So how Carter know what he smells like? Unless he was somehow dirty before he was a cop. Or possibly related to Ghost in some way? Ghost didnt have "Cop" problems before Angela. Junior was a wasted character even though he could've been Tariq's brother. His whole purpose was to introduce Carter? Doesn’t make sense. Carter will have to go. Everytime Tariq gives people that look...he cancels christmas or at least tries to. I just hope they let Michael Ealy to hang around for a minute or 2. I like him.

Enabling drug dealers to continue selling is the ULTIMATE harm/dangers to drug users or better yet CIVILIANS. It’s the biggest contradiction as the harm that is caused to self and others amplifies wrong doing.

Don Carter is a mixture of Howard, Jukebox, Ray Ray and Sheamus Bennigan. Tariq will use Rashad Tate to divide and conquer Don Carter because of the death of Kamaal Tate.

The thing with Tariq is that he’s trying to be BETTER than Ghost, when he’s not looking at anything from all the angles the way his father did. He gained the name GHOST from laying low and just being a NAME but with POWER! Tariq doesn’t care about exposing himself bc he is impulsive, selfish, and thinks he knows everything when he knows NOTHING! He’s more like Cane than his father, and look where he’s at now 😂. He is no where near his father, no matter how the writers try to make him.

Carter has some serious mental health issues about grieving the death of his wife but he we need to find out the details behind his wifes death so we can understand why he is acting like she is still alive in his house.. Micheal Ealy is definitely a different cop and his character is powerful..
He shocked me when he told Monet that he would look the other way as long as no civilians get killed during their business, he doesn't seem to trust Detective Tate yet but if he gets in the way of Carter or his plan, he might get dealt with and then Congressman Tate will align with Davis, Tariq and Monet to bring down Carter and the task force..
I love the chess games that Tariq and Carter bring, the conversation where Carter was talking about Tariq keeping his breathing regular "You are a good fucking liar, this will be fun"..

The question is WHAT did ghost do to neutralize Carter or was he working with him not what would he do. It is obvious that Carter knows him. I think knows him. Probably his brother. I think ghost is the only one he was not taking money from and allowed him to be at the top of the food chain and that’s where he is going to put Tariq. It sounds like he knows ghost really well.

I'm still sticking to my story. Det. Carter is a big bad wolf, but he's jus another Big Bad Wolf (cop or not). I like how formidable he's character is, but I'm not worried for Tyriq or the Tejadas.... I just think Tyriq will bring him down eventually, as everyone makes a mistake eventually.... If he's previously mistake took his wife's life, then the next one takes he's life.
