+Prateek Kulkarni Because they are much in number and now even WDG-4D's have come up in numbers. So the Cst loco shed authorities give trains links as per availability. I know WDG-4 is freight god but even WDP-4D, WDP-4B are overpower for 24 coach loads. VTA WDP-4D hauled Double Stack Container load singlehandedly. So in future, you will get overpowered emds in future. Even WDG-5 will come in future.

Infact train travel is economical. If you travel by Mumbai Rajdhani Express 1AC for 1400kms, it costs INR4500. If you travel by sleeper class, its very economical. For foreigners, its economical to travel by Maharaja express even if is about 1lakh per person for 1 week tour. For Indians, its expensive
