I'll be getting the shorter version when it drops! I already bought the Pegasus when it went on sale to pair with it. Thanks for showing it paired with the RX3. Even though it was brief, you confirmed that mounting the Pegasus above the trolly will work because the two cables will pass on either side. I figured this much, but it was cool to see a demo. It kinda sucks chest supported rows don't work well, but but I'm eager to try some other exercises in that configuration. Also, while I don't plan to use it as a pulldown machine, (I use the Rhino) my wife is only 5 feet tall, and I'm hoping it's an easier setup and enough ROM for her. Thanks for pointing out some of the RX3's shortcomings and highlighting what it does well. (The weight stack sticker thing would've drove me nuts lol) Much appreciated!
What other brand attachments will fit on the GetRXd RX3 Racks? I know there are websites out there with charts on other brands listed with compatibility charts, but not any I have found with GetRXd. Might be a good weblink for you to have Gluck 🤔
Great video! Love the Honesty. I finished building my wall-mounted RX3 Tornado Tuesday night. I have 8' ceilings in my garage, so it was a tight fit, but it does work. You should mention the instructions manual. They are not very detailed. I had to cut out a couple of notches in my base boards. I wrote them a pretty detailed email. Overall, i am very happy with my purchases from GetRXd. I don't have near the fitness equipment experience as you though 😅 Look forward to your review on the Tornado Arms
I feel like nothing compares in value to the BOS All-in-one trainer. Even being forced to work in their ecosystem will provide cost savings. I got the plate-loaded option and 2 standard J cups. Unbeatable value.
I just put together the Tornado arms half rack. I don't have much functional trainer experience, but they definitely seem heavy to move on the upright and wiggle until the pin inserts. I hope it can be a low-cost freemotion trainer with storage shelves in the middle and a secondary rack.
I mounted the BOS pulley tower on BOS cross supports at the back of the hydra rack and it makes a great low row, lat pull down, and functional trainer with the added height. For everything but chest flies.
I was at the (CA) REP showroom yesterday. I’m with Wynnie on the weight of the AB4100 being “just right”. Thanks for all those bench reviews, I watched them too many times 😂
Versatility is king for me, which is how I ended up with dual BoS towers. Being able to do either 2:1 or 1:1 on a single tower opens the door to so many different exercises if you like to tinker and try new movements. You can do lever arm movements (leg press, leverage squat, etc) with up to 420lbs of cable resistance, for example. Having said all that, if I was starting from scratch (and had the ceiling height) I would be extremely torn between two of these or the tornado rack. Being able to easily adjust the width of the pulleys and get them higher or lower than where the trolley can travel might outweigh the benefits of the dual cables. But either way I’m going with the equipment that lets me get the most out of it for my training over the equipment that looks and feels nicer but does less.
Did you need to tighten most of your pulley bolts and everything? Most of the "pre-assembled" items I had were barely hand tight. That's fine, I just wish it would have told me in the instructions or at least an email letting me know.
I love the upgrades over the builder series and I’m looking forward to the tornado arms making it out into the wild. Keep up the great reviews! I’d hate to run out of curl variations.
@ I mean, not all designs are future proof. The builder series has nonstandard spacing and bolt sizes. The only real upgrade path there is to replace all those components. This model looks more future proof to me because it’s 3x3 with 1” holes
@@fwiffo42 or sell a 3x3 post with the old nonstandard spacing but with the new 1" holes between the connection points... (My gripe is really with the 4 post functional trainer i purchased a few months ago) hhmmmm????
Ah so glad someone finally released a 3x3 pulley tower that would have been an upgrade from my titan tower. I’ve only been asking for a budget-ish option for a year. Oh well my Adonis came in and is assembled so I don’t care anymore since it took everyone too long.
I’m of the opinion that you buy once cry once. I have REP’s Ares 1.0 on a PR5K and absolutely love it. I do wish I could easily upgrade to the 2.0. I love the upgrades of the new version. This does seem like a really good budget option if a few hundred dollars is a deal breaker. Rogue or REP is the way to go.
If I wasn't so cheap, this might have been a good option a year ago. But I went with the Bells plate loaded and am happy with it. Selectorized would be sweet to have though.
My 30 year old lat pulldown/ low row still going strong. Someday I’ll upgrade but it will need to be with something with a 5 lb starting weight or so for the wife
Would love to see 5lb starting weights. The issue is since these are used for overhead lifts companies worry about people dropping heavy attachments on their heads.
Hey Gluck. Thanks for all of the tips and sale info. Please remind viewers of the company that makes the barbell hooks that allow you to store a barbell inside the top of your rack rack and parallel to the floor. I think they are based in southern cal?
Honestly, I would go with neither because I believe everything is going to free motion arms on these things . That's going to be the next trend that's being produced in China and other countries . I've seen lat pulldowns with them , wall mount functional trainers , leverage machines , half racks , power racks - this goes on . I really see that's the next thing that's going to be pushed , and they're only going to get better . Fitness equipment has always been about trends , and everybody is always looking for that next itch to scratch , regardless if it works for them or not . I should know , I used to install fitness equipment in rich people's homes . Some people will buy anything just for the status symbol .
“I was hoping to do chest supported rows with the Pegasus seat but the pull point was too high”… have you tried putting the Pegasus up higher and using a box/bench for your feet?
I wish they would offer an upgrade option from last years model. same for their functional trainer. if not someone should offer a front 3X3 post with the old bolt connection points and the new top to bottom one inch holes. (My gripe is really with the 4 post functional trainer i purchased a few months ago)
@GlucksGym yeah, I saw that but your review says 12 and it's the same as their light commercial which is 12. I'm pretty sure that's a typo on their website. Could you confirm?
@@GlucksGym btw, you nailed it in comparing this to the bells towers. I have dual plate loaded bells towers and I'm looking to upgrade to something with a stack. This was on my radar for that very reason. Great job.
I've had my dual BoS cable towers since last year and I'm pretty sure they used to say they were 12 gauge steel back then in their website, maybe they moved to 14 gauge since then.
Mine (which is older) is 12 gauge. I verified with calipers. I won't assume it's a typo I've seen companies swap gauges before and I actually appreciate the honesty if that's the case. I will reach out to the owner of Bells. If it's a typo, they'll update the listing.
Too expensive. I can buy a seated leg extension/curl machine. a seated row machine, a Smith Machine with an upper and lower cable pulley attachment, a glute ham developer, and a belt squat machine from Temu for less than the price of the RX3000 Cable Tower, and I have. Exercise equipment is getting ridiculously expensive. For instance, Rogue Fitness actually is selling an overbuilt power rack for sale for $9,995.
