It's SOO hard to go against your Mom, BUT you have to be true to yourself.
I don't think it's fair that the mom "played games" with her daughter. It was the daughter's day and not the time or place. Just my 2 cents.
Mum didn't like it at all really. She just said she liked it so she didn't disappoint her daughter . It's obvious.
The first dress was truly beautifil on her. It was classic and timeless. The halter top was a show stopper on her. Wow.
I loved the bodice on the first dress - suited her perfectly. I do think the ballgown skirt was too big, a shame the bodice wasn't on an A-line skirt or a more fitted skirt.
I agree, the halter top was just amazing on her; so much better than the dress she went with. If only there had been something that had the same/similar top but with a slimmed down / less huge skirt part

Also, i don't believe her mom's story of "setting her up". I think she was just afraid of embarrassing her daughter so she lied at the end.
I think Mom just knew that her daughter needed her to love it, too, to be really happy, so she found a way to give her daughter the reassurance that she needed.

I think mum changed her tune to make her daughter happy, she didn't love the dress.
So refreshing to see a bride go with what she wants instead of her moms. Very mature.
The halter strap on the 2nd dress looked cheap and I thought the top aged her. The first one was absolutely breathtaking on her - agree the bottom was too big but surely they could have taken out some crinoline? The top on the first made her look absolutely radiant.
After thinking what you said yes I agree. The top on the second one has a dater look about it that I think might go back to the nineties
She is sweet, pretty girl with lovely figure. However, I feel she could have found something that would suit her even better in that particular style (halter top mermaid). I felt the dress didn't do much for her. Not enough support in bust area which shortened her silhouette.
How does a halter "age" someone? Funny what people "see"
@@linamarie84 Halter tops don't in and of themselves age someone. My comment was about that particular halter top - the one on the 2nd dress - because as I wrote it looked cheap to me. Looking at it again, that pattern of lace combined with the unfinished edges on the strap are what IMO make her look matronly/dated.

We love a supportive mother in law, some that I've seen on this show where they are so disapproving of everything the bride puts on, it's disheartening, then I see these mothers in law and they make me so happy

The first dress was beautiful on top, but way too big on the bottom! Second dress was the right pick, IMO, & I'm so glad she picked it & then the surprise that her mom really liked it after all! Never saw an episode like this one before. Gok is wonderful at picking out dresses. What an interesting episode. Best wishes to the bride & groom.
The first dress is literally my dream dress. I've looked at all of the Mori Lee collection and that is THE dress I love most. One day ❤

I didn't like the creasing on the 2nd dress.
I liked the sihouette of the dress on the bride, but something about the lace halter style, made it look cheap.
I liked the dress, but the straps on the halter neck seemed odd. Also if it’s creasing on the rack you can bet it will in a car. No amount of steaming would stop that.
She looked so classy in the first dress.

Dress 1 was beautiful on her, but it was a bit big. Dress 2 looked kind of like a cheap nightgown. First time I have ever disagreed with Gok.
I think for me, it's the straps on the 2nd one. If it was off the shoulder or strapless I think it'd like a lot better

Wow, first time I've ever NOT liked a Gok pick. That second dress was a big meh to me. BUT I firmly agree that the bride is always in charge of the pick.
Her mam was right. It wasn’t wow but the bride loved it so that’s what counts. The first one was beautiful and looked great on her. Shame we didn’t get to see a similar one with less weight in the skirt for comparison.
