    Cutting the side off of that Studebaker was brilliant idea the ultimate wall art I'm going to have to try that

    I remember back in the 80's knowing the Studebaker family outside of El Dorado. They had some sweet Studebaker pickups they were always driving around.

    Glad you and Silas got some neat stuff. That old studebaker half sure looks great next to that tin building. Great Save.

      It's amazing how it looks like junk sitting in a field, but becomes an art piece when separated and given its own solo venue!

    Appreciate hearing your comments from your reservoir of expertise and experience. Was introduced to your channel by Silas and his Adventures Made From Scratch. Must say that I impressed by the work ethic of Joe. He just gets down and settles into the dirt and gets the job done. If it were me, I would be concerned about sharp objects, hostile critters, bugs, poison ivy, and how I was going to stand up again, etc.

    Be great wall art to be found around that yard. That side you cut off will look so cool hanging on the side of a garage. Most of the old wrecking yards in Australia you cannot go in because of health and safety issues.

    I wish the Packards could be saved they are one if my favorite cars. I can remember those cars when they were quiet common and they just, like old cowboys, just faded away. Tim that will make great wall art, I have the whole right side of a 55 Chevy Bel air like that.👍👍👍👍👍❤🇺🇸

    • @mr.goodpliers6988
      @mr.goodpliers6988  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Silas hauled all of the Packards back to his storage lot in Hutchinson.
      I wish I had a better place to display the wall art, but I don't really

    By the time this video came out, the place was already crushed out. Still nice that you are able to save some stuff though.

    Didn't know that you knew Silas, I sent you a link a while back hoping you would check it out. Did you look in those conex's that were packed with transmissions like four speeds and corvette manifolds for the blue flame six cylinder engines and you name it as it was nicely packed for ease of finding

    This particular video was a real treat! I have always wanted to do this, 'shave' the profile off an old derelict car and make it a big wall hanger, complete with wheels and tires and all the details. Keep the patina and stay with stock wheels and caps. This is so damn cool!
    I have a car that I want to do this to except for the front clip instead. There is no electricity available anywhere near the car. What do you recommend (at minimum expense) for a cordless angle grinder? Brand, amount of batteries for one whole job, etc?
    Thank you for sharing!!!

    Thanks. I dont understand why dont sell those cars and parties of cars through the auction? Why go those cars to scrap? Maybe need go to scrap all antique cars "Studebaker".

    • @mr.goodpliers6988
      @mr.goodpliers6988  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      An auctioneer gets almost a third for commission, and most of these were so incomplete and rusted that they probably would not have met a minimum salvage bid. An auction makes sense for complete rebuildable cars, but here it's arguably a step backwards. A niche brand likely wouldn't have drawn much of a local crowd, and the condition and incompleteness of the cars would have made it difficult to get many people from further away to come.
