What is making me tear up with laughter is I was living in my tipi in the winter forest and these chipmunks were sleeping in my tipi. they were pissed at me. So they would try to chase me out! Each time I returned - there were the chipmunks. They would sleep like babies but then during the day - be all pissed at me. Then in late February - no chipmunks! Instead I saw big cat prints that lept into a tree - and only the chipmunks were the only mammals living in those trees. Later I found Lynx scat - confirming my suspicion. The Lynx ate those pesky chipmunks! Then later I heard the Lynx call nearby. Amazing. Here you got the Chipmunks BUILDING the Tipi! too funny.
So please tell me what the thought process was here? You have the ability to pack in a stove, stove pipe, glassware for tea, but decided that instead of packing in a tent you'll just bring a heavy ass roll of plastic to wrap around some branches and that somehow is 'camping for $5, please at least tell me you packed that plastic waste out after everything was done......

That's an adult men still little boys at heart. Love this ,just bring back memories from my childhood, when we were building structures like this. Instead of plastic we used fir trees and brunches. So light hearted!!😀

I work at Costco and use these rolls of plastic every morning for putting pallets back up in the steel. It’s ridiculously strong. Nice to see another use for it.

This is the best emergency shelter I've ever seen on TH-cam, and I've looked at a lot. Cheap, fast, and easy to put up. Even without the wood stove, this shelter would heat up quite a bit just from sunshine. Brilliant.

Put some bricks or stones on and(or) around the stove - that way heat accumulates, stays longer and emits long infrared rays which are very cozy and warm just like from old furnace in wooden house.

If someone really wants to do "getting back to nature 100%" they probably goes naked, because of the synthetic clothes, tent, portable stove, rubber shoes, metal knives, and foods wrapped in plastics with preservatives.

If you wrap the plastic around each pair (2) of the supporting beams first, it will be +50% better insulated. Also if needed for longer, dig a trench around the tent to divert rainfall away from the inside. Use dug out earth to cover the edges of the tent.
We lived in Central Asia for years where that was much Eastern European influence. This brought back many fond memories for my wife and me. Thank you for sharing. Maybe I'll try making a shelter like that one day soon.

While we were having breakfast the first morning, two guys showed up with a brand new canoe and after talking to the fishing guide they took off down the river. Everything they had was brand new, the guide said they were heading off to camp in the wild for a few weeks, it was their first time doing anything like that. The very next morning I saw those two come back, pack their stuff back in their van and leave. When I asked the guide what happened to their plan, he said they spent the night getting chased around an island by a bear. My friend and I had a great time, I caught some fish and he caught a clam, a snapping turtle and a fisher that was swimming by us, he used the landing net and it went nuts, like the tasmanian devil in a bugs bunny cartoon, good memories from camping and fishing, guaranteed every time, lol?

It's a good cheap source of construct the tent but is no good for environment because too many plastic are used, if everyone is camping this way how many plastic waste will there be, and also those nails. If this can be recycle is a good idea. Yes, is true if goes out in the wild without knowing when the weather conditions change this is an essential item to be taken for emergency use. Nails, axe, hammer and roll plastic if possible the foldable fire wood stove. 👍👍🙏🙏
To complete the higher portions next time, drive two nails into an extra pole opposite of each other abuot 1.3 feet down from the top of the pole. This will give you a "roller" of sorts to finish the top. Cool build.
great video, that little stove is amazingly efficient and easy to make up & the cellophane wrap was a great technique, wish i had of thought of this when i was homeless, we would use small trees and bend them downwards to make what we called "a Bender" kind of a makeshift camp or a small fort

I would have also wrapped a 2nd layer in heavy duty aluminum foil..a bit more sturdy and able to with stand the heat from stove .. especially around the piping..for the stove..just my thought

В супермаркете взял для него бутылку виски Black ram 0,25 и дал ему когда обратно шёл.Он что то вроде пробурчал или пёрнул. Но не представляю,как он там будет ночью спать,когда температура может до нуля упасть.. Надеюсь с ним всё будет нормально и удачно встретит Новый год через час и с Новым годом.Жаль что у него нет такого уютного фигвама.
I love the inventive! But I just wonder: if you carry so much stuff up - stools and real meals, wouldn't it be more sustainable to carry a simple tent that you could reuse again instead of a big roll of plastic wrap for trash?
And those rolls are pretty heavy to. I'd say like maybe 10 pounds full. So I think a tent is much lighter. And plus now days they have tents that are like a small cabin. I don't want people to see me in my tent wft. What if your banging or something. Look mom there having sex

Mud and leaves can make for a better and completely free wall of your shelter... without polluting as much as well.
All you need to do is carry a huge roll of gladwrap with you wherever you go, just in case you need to build one.

We use a metal bucket with scrap steel at work.

And if you wrap a blanket or hide around it it will insulate you better.
You can't do that. Doing one blocks from doing the next panel. You need to stack leafy branches, or thin branches and pack with fallen leaves

Our tea master taught us to brew tea with water at 90 degree C. The double boiler here is just right for the job.

great video, that little stove is amazingly efficient and easy to make up & the cellophane wrap was a great technique, wish i had of thought of this when i was homeless, we would use small trees and bend them downwards to make what we called "a Bender" kind of a makeshift camp or a small fort

Be careful you protect it. Have you ever dealt with plastic wrap that had a cut or more in it or the roll was smashed on an end? Frustrating to use.
I would have also wrapped a 2nd layer in heavy duty aluminum foil..a bit more sturdy and able to with stand the heat from stove .. especially around the piping..for the stove..just my thought

В супермаркете взял для него бутылку виски Black ram 0,25 и дал ему когда обратно шёл.Он что то вроде пробурчал или пёрнул. Но не представляю,как он там будет ночью спать,когда температура может до нуля упасть.. Надеюсь с ним всё будет нормально и удачно встретит Новый год через час и с Новым годом.Жаль что у него нет такого уютного фигвама.
