I think part of it has to do with what bugs daddy did to michael. He's averse to older men in general. He knows all about omar. Omar even calls him sweet pea.

Kenard didn't didn't see a man that was so great he could jump out of a 6 story building and survive. He just saw a vulnerable old man. Even to a young child in the game, there's a certain level of innocence they can't help but have.

To the older gen, Omar is the shotgun toting robber whose been robbing them for years, can match their muscle in ferocity and disappear like a phantom. But to the younger gen, its just a crippled guy robbing corners with a pistol, which in itself is ridiculous. No mythos to back him in the back of the targets mind, nothing special
