U r seriously amazing sir.... I m using ABB drive for 5 hp induction motor there is setting of 9904 parameter in ABB DRIVE which is control mode so we r setting 3 means SCALAR CONTROL.. I have dis doubt so long what is vector n scalar control now I clear... Tons of thanks n keep sharing ur knowledge... 😀

Earlier DC motor based on thyristor control were being used. My final year project in 1977, itself was speed control of DC motor using thyristor. However 20 years back, VFD along with 3 phase AC motor and GTO based control came. Afterwords VFD along with igbt based control and 3 phase motor came. Now days many more function with VFD will be there.

sir yaha par kuch glat hai,, pahle rectifier se AC ko DC volt me convert kiya jata hai sahi hai, DC volt jo 600 volt tak ya jad ho sakta hai sahi hai. IGBT ka kam hai DC volt ko variable AC volt and freq me change karna.. is pure system ko Inverter kahte hai.
