1997 AMA 125 MOTOCROSS - TROY - 2 FULL MOTO's

On a very warm Ohio day, Kawasaki mounted Damon HUFFMAN shows the field how it's done.
With Ricky CARMICHAEL dominating the class all year, it was a surpise to see HUFFMAN take both moto's, making it look effortless. He was silky smooth all weekend.
CARMICHAEL limits the damage by taking 2 runner up spots, trying to keep HUFFMAN in his sights.

Funnily I remember a Huffman quote from that year that stuck with me. Might of been from this race or one after when he was asked about his bike in a interview cause he'd had a couple dnf's with ignitions going out. He said he loved the bike and it was real fast but it was a bit like a tropical fish and and would be swimming along beautifully then next minute it would be belly up😂
