Thanks a lot!! ¡¡Muchas gracias!I have a couple of 111B that I will to refufrbish and i will study your videos carefully. I used them in trekkings to Roraima mount and they are really legendary. Regards-saludos from Caracas, Venezuela.
Hi Thank you for your videos. I’m looking for information on where to purchase a new nrv for my Optimus 111 ? The previous one was damaged while I was replacing a head gasket. Thanks for your time.
@Ian Brodie Try Base-Camp or The FettleBox in the UK. Or, try one of the S. Korean or Taiwanese suppliers on my stove part suppliers list here: www.berniedawg.com/stove-part-supplier-links/ Good luck on your project. BD
Hi I love watching your vids you get in to. Sutch detailed I have just started adding these stoves to my calation but all ways worried about all the parts an if they could be founed could you please tell me where you fined yours are how you make them in a video an where you got the trenches you used on the 8rs you rebuilt when I tried rebuilding mine I couldn't get the tube off the tank an was afraid I would make a mess of it any info would be greatly apresheated thank you
@PaulBearden-be1pe Thanks. But, to find tools, methods and parts sources you just need to look through my webpages and my other videos. I have a complete series on the 8R for instance that is in a playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PL9Tg7BYD6fUJ4L9S6PipKE0-GOAlUVShb.html Tools and parts can be found through consulting my webpage here: www.berniedawg.com/stove-part-supplier-links/ Base-Camp in the UK is a great source for the correct and NOS original parts. Here’s a manual at my website for the 8R: www.berniedawg.com/optimus-8r-manual/ If all that doesn’t cut it for you and you need more individualized help, then I have an email address for that here: bd@berniedawg.com Most of these links and this information, and a whole lot more besides, is in the description boxes below my videos. Or, if you are too shy, you could signup with your annual fee at Classic Camp Stoves and maybe receive help (some of it correct) from the stove fans over there: classiccampstoves.com/ 👍😎 BD
Try as I might, in the one I’ve just acquired, I can’t seem to get the pressure to build up enough before it fades away, any ideas please, a thorough clean maybe?
@Dave Ramble On Witt You've described the symptoms of leaky seals. Replace all the seals as I show in these videos and you should be golden. Need more advice? bd@berniedawg.com 👍 BD
@@BernieDawgCinema thanks for that, appreciated, One thing I am curious about is, how long, on average, one in full working order, how long should it burn for, once it’s being pumped up for the first time, before it requires some more input?
@Dave Ramble On Witt For a 111B... 20-30 minutes or so? The naphtha models like the B can self-pressurize a bit. Need more advice? bd@berniedawg.com 👍 BD
@@BernieDawgCinema thanks, mine lasts about a minute before it needs pumping up again, like you said previously, a complete service and seal change definitely required, thanks for being so helpful, really appreciated
@Dave Ramble On Witt Sure thing. A minute shows really bad leakage. Your stove is 20-40 years old. Seals only last 5-8 years. But, just get those seals changed out and you'll see a world of difference. My videos show you pretty much everything you need to know. You can email me for a link to where to get the parts for yours there in the UK. BD

Correct. Not a good idea. Avoid ammoniated cleaners when cleaning thin brass. Ammonia can cause or contribute to the development of stress cracks in brass stove tanks. BD
