    Excellent workmanship on the part of both the manufacturer and yourself, young man...

    Oh my goodness !!! Camping my whole life (75years) starting out in Germany as a child I remember my dad starting camping stoves !!! Scariest things ever !! When the initial flame finally died down and 6:08 6:22 the blue flame kicked in was a nerve racking experience in a tent lol
    What a super job you did!! BRAVO and I really like the music with your videos....... there's a rhythm to your working!!

    That’s was so much fun. Thank you for this video. I love stoves. The moment the stove was lit, was epic.

    Superbe restauration d’un petit coin pour un café sur le pouce en pleine campagne ou en bord de route ou réchauffer un plat tout près.
    Îles vraiment dommage que nous ne faissions plus de tels objets utiles et pratiques

    It's sad to think that something I grew up with is an antique, but then again, so am I, I guess!! They're outstanding stoves, along with the Optimus 8R, Svea 127 and the like!

      And just like the stove, you still work. Quality engineering...

    Merci à vous tous les restaurateurs passionnés,.Serait-il possible d'en recréer de nouveaux avec la technologie actuelle pour quelques nostalgiques ?

    My dad has one of these, I have fond memories of playing with it as a kid and using it when we went camping. I have to say though, his still has the optimus badge on it, and is very much that colour blue that the original was before you sandblasted it. I'm 95% sure it's never been repainted and hence was the original colour as well.

    Not a fan of your camera work, but it is nice to see the stove restored. I like the outer paint color, too.

    Was this model wickless?????

    • @Amazingct2000restorations
      @Amazingct2000restorations  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it does not have a wick just a spirit tray. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it.

      @@Amazingct2000restorations, you can see ruined wick in the tube at 3:00. It is better to preheat the burner using strong alcohol - it will keep the burner clean and extend service intervals. Finally I'm not sure, but it seems this stove was designed for kerosene.

      @@vgnparvez That was not a wick. That was a metal mesh used for fuel filtering.

      What he did with the fuel pump also remains a mystery. The internal part of the pump was hidden all the time. The power of editing..

    It's a porta stove.

    Just FYI get some good video editing software. There are plenty of free ones out there. You music is way to loud. With video editing software you can lower the sound of the music. I have you turned down to 25% volume on TH-cam and maybe a third on my speakers and music is still way to loud.
