Draft from a public pool of face-down and face-up tiles (along with some bonus cards), then simultaneously divide them into 2 groups. You will select one group from another player and keep the group of yours that isn't selected. Organize your growing collection each round and score 1 of 4 goals choose wisely, as you can't score that goal again. If you like what we are doing here please remember...

And I thought I was the only one who really wanted to like Arnak and ended up being bored to tears with it :-) Repetitive, endless resource conversion with poor man's deckbuilding and in fact obligatory climbing the research track. For a time I was thinking of buying Distlled, I have not though, I went for some other title instead. If I have a chance to play it I will give it a shot. Some of the games which greatly disappointed me, other than Arnak: Letters from Whitechapel: I guess it may be fun for the Ripper player, the rest in practice just follow alpha player, and they frankly do not have much to do anyway. Gave this game away after first and only play through. Voyages of Marco Polo first edition: the game just repeatedly ground to a halt. Half way through I was taking max 5 seconds per move, just to speed it up a bit and finally be done with it. Never again Uno- I do enjoy light, filler games. And Uno is pretty much the most popular filler in the world. So I bought it. Read the rules. Face palmed. Threw it away without playing thinking: seriously, is that it?! That is the whole game?! Social deduction games. All of them: Avalon, Blood on the Clock tower. Mafia, you name it. They are all the same to me and share a common fatal flaw: there is no game in them.
Though I've heard of all games you listed, sadly I played only one - Pret a Porter but it would also end up on my list if favorite worker placements. I like how clean it is, without any forcing itself to be innovative, it just seamlessly fits this game. And I can relate, my gaming group almost killed me with laughter when I proposed this game. Now it is one if their favorite games, some even bought their own copies XD. From my collection I would also recommend the following 4 worker placement games: Pan Am - this game was so unlucky. Some gamers wanted another Ticket to Ride and were turned off by this game's skillful mix of worker placement and auction mechanics. And those players who would potentially enjoy it assumed that it was just another Ticket to Ride just with planes, and did mot even check it. Dwrrgar - what if we had a worker placement with only one our own worker? The remaining workers, divided into three groups each having a unique special abilities is shared. :-) Outlived - we are sending workers to their starting position from which they have to move. If they reach their destination is another thing. This post apocalyptic game merges worker placement with building our own shelter. Lord of the Ice Garden - a heavy, highly assymetrical area control game which uses worker placement as action selection. The game is completely devoid of luck factor. Everything can be calculated if you correctly anticipate your opponents actions.
Wow, I've only heard of Pan Am. We will look into the rest of em. Thanks for watching!
Fields of Arle for us the better game from Uwe. Feast of Odin basically Tetris… lose any theme through “shapes” acquisition. Stuff for shapes not functionality.
Haven't played Fields of Arle enough but it will most likely shoot up
good list my top 5 would probably be (still didnt unpack my feast for odin, it was released in our country only relatively recently) 1. paladins of west kingdom 2. lost ruins of arnak 3. dune imperium 4. beyond the sun 5. lords of waterdeep (with expansions) or champions of midgaard (with expansions)
LoW definitely needs the expansion! Great list
@@dadsanddice champions of midgaard are also a lot better with at least valhalla expansion
@12:11 oopsie on the pattern i think. The card shows 2 reds flanked by green while the tiles on the board were 2 greens flanked by red. Nice playthrough. I had overlooked this game, and I think its going to be a nice "filler" game for my wife and I.
Thanks for watching and catching that! If you enjoy this you might enjoy Reef as well
Lords of Waterdeep, Caverna, Dune Imperium
Lords of Waterdeep and Caverna is so good. We need to ry Dune Imperium again
They sure are!
Thanks for the video! Helpful review. But add more dad stuff. What you ask? Idk. Jokes? Dad gaming advice relatable to the game? I don't know man, just need some type of enjoyable gimmick here as well :P
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the comment
Borderline criminal Lords of Waterdeep ain't on here 😭
We legit had a conversation about it!
I think every game mentioned here is better than LoW LoW’s claim to fame is DnD theme. As a worker placement, there are SO MANY better games.
@@SAUPAYANMAZUMDAR the audacity
@@shelbygerba it’s not called audacity, it’s called knowledge/experience. Experience of having played about 1280 unique games
@SAUPAYANMAZUMDAR Lords of Waterdeep's claim to fame is in its history. Nowadays, yes, it's not even close to a top 5 worker placement game, but it was one of the first, and greatly helped to popularize the mechanism.
For me: Viticulture; Underwater Cities; Barcelona; Dune Imperium; Ghe Gallerist
TBH in surprised Viticulture did not make Devin's list. Now I'm even more excited to try out Underwater Cities!
Another great one guys! Also, my start with worker placement was Lords of Waterdeep! Some of these you have are definitely on my list!
Man Lords of Waterdeep is just so good
Great list, thanks. Recommend trying Dwellings of Eldervale (or AE) if you havent yet. Might make at least honorable mention hehe. Gotta get my Lorenzo to the table (just got it)! Hype!
Devin has played Dwellings, I'm hoping to get to try out this week at Bggcon
great list! its hard not to have some Shem and Uwe games on any worker placement list.
Both just the best at what they do!
@@dadsanddice yes they are. i have shipwrights redux and raiders set up at the moment!
Might as well set up Explorers and do the Runesaga
@@dadsanddicedoes runesaga work with redux? Didn’t know it was backwards compatible
15:20. Artificer deals 7 damage and this is not removed from Shadow Thief's health dial....
Thanks!
Just got finished watching your playthrough of Honey Buzz. Would that count as a worker placement game?
Definitely would!
Did you play it in the car?
I did not, but I'm sure you could!
Add me on BGA! Paul_DadsandDice
Just got mine and a ss etb and boster bundle 😊
Heck yeah!
When you modified your ultimate by adding 3 damage to it.. arent those defendable damage ? I tough Spiderman would be allowed a defensive roll. (I am new to dice throne. Just got the marvel 4 set (thor spidy, wanda, loki)
Nothing from an Ultimate is defendable, the only thing you can do is change your opponents dice before it's locked in
@@dadsanddice cant Loki use his illusion ?
Nothing can be done after the ultimate is locked in
Glad you have enjoyed the solo mode for Forges of Ravenshire. Curious to see if you will ever try Master Smith, the highest difficulty level. :)
Ha no need to jump that far into the deep end just yet!
Oh hell's yeah, that's m'jam 🎶🕺
🎣🎣
Thanks for playing.
Thanks for watching!
Sick as brother, keep doing what you love 🔥
Another game you'd love is "Tokaido" similar premise but more peaceful with awesome artwork
Love Tokaido, it actually got picked up by Stonemaier and they are making a solo for it
You are the best
Just Kickstarted this. SOOO pumped!!
Awesome! They are so well mad e
that is really not how to play the game. It is much more tactical. Don`t stand in front of each other playing all your hand. You wanna run away before your hand is too small. Otherwise you are just playing from the top of your deck. And that is random
Thanks for watching!
Very fun game. The solo mode is done very well as well with how the automa values things for the I Cut, You Choose.
I honestly didn't think it would play great at 2 but that wasn't true, I'm more inclined to try the solo now
@ it’s really good.
HONEY BUZZZ???????!!!!! lol. Love your reasoning for each of these!
Lol thanks for watching!
Thank you for playing Kutná Hora!
Thank you so much for watching! You designed a great one here. Can't wait to try it with more players
First 26:00 minutes or so there are technical sound issues. Gameplay begins afterwards.
Whyy the hell you Play with rats in 3-players game 😭😭
They definitely won the game
So it is possible to win. I've been getting creamed everytime. Nice job!
It is possible! I generally score in the upper 40s and this time i just pulled it out. Thanks for watching!
Good game! 🎉 Really enjoyed the stream. A few questions: Did you get your points (3 total, I think) for leftover resources? And is the Horrified stream on Monday, the 28th? If so, what time?
🤯 I most definitely did not! Add 3 points to my score! Yes the Horrified stream is the 28th and we will be aiming to start at 8:30PM CST
Yes, the solo mode can get quite challenging for Forges of Ravenshire. I triple dog dare you to play the Full Mastersmith level with a Mithril finish focus. Let me know how it goes. ;)
Hey, thanks for watching! I've really been enjoying the game, great design. I'll be sure to work my way up there!
So after watching the video, my takeaway is that it includes none of the content that was in the original, only replaced content. Is that right?
You are correct, it does not have any of the previous content. It's all new, non Stonemaier game, content.
Note that you can leave the tiles in the Susan, but store the box Horizontally or the pieces will all fall out into the box. They are releasing a cover for the Susan in a few months along with the Supermoon expansion.
That's a bit disappointing, gonna have to rearrange the collection again.
Planet Unknown is one of my favorite games. So much fun.
So glad to hear that! We've got a 6 player game night next weekend so we will get it played then
Not understanding why it sounds like a complaint when you didn't even combine the game & expansions into the deluxe box... One box, one mat. Seems pretty easy to me! Plus, you have the entire trilogy PLUS the deluxe boxes for each as well -and I'm just guessing that you also have the expansions for the other two as well, so you obviously love them, so it's still not really an "inconvenience", is it??? Yeah, didn't think so.
😅
I snagged all three of the Delve games and plan to spend a lot time playing them over Halloween. I like card games like these and the artwork is just insane. Thanks for streaming this despite the technical difficulties. Really enjoying your channel since first seeing you guys on Co-op Guild. Cheers!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching and sticking with me for it! Hopefully you can make it down the wells
Thanks for playing!
Thanks for watching! Really enjoying the series
I know what I want for Christmas.
I'd love a 3D printer, thankfully my local library has one. This insert was like 20 bucks
That looks fun, I'll try it out
Hope you can!
Watch part 2 here th-cam.com/users/liveMvwlamS-1As?feature=share
Looks like the stream abruptly disconnected 1 hour into the game
Yup, internet cut out, Part 2 is pinned in the comments!
turns out that late space card was basically the difference in final scores...
Great video! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
this game is so pretty - devins arm looks so short because the map is so wide LOL
Lolol the game does have a great table presence but it is huge!
Chulhu realms , Challengers and Cascadia are my picks!
Challengers has caught my eye in the past
This was an immediate hit for me solo. The fact that you use dice multiple ways was great. One of my top games of the year.
It was a cool mechanism for sure
Legacy of Yu is outstanding. I went 14 games and lost on the last one. Immediately wanted to go again
If you haven't gotten thr chance to already there is a one off game that you can set up while not doing the entire campaign
@@dadsanddice where do you find that?
@veerchasm1 there is a thread posted on BGG that lays out the components needed for it. It's also on their Instagram and their FB page
