5:02 Everytime you show one of these little silver boats hauling around I flashback to watching ‘The Beachcombers” with my dad in the 80s. Had all but forgotten about that show …
H’i guys the aircraft that you filmed is a CP 140 Aurora based out of CFB Comox. These are coastal patrol (hence the CP designation) aircraft they are used for monitoring shipping in Canadian waters, drug interdiction ops and is also an anti-submarine patrol aircraft. I spent a number of hours on board these aircraft when I was stationed in Comox back in 1991. Super cool you got a private display!
When we were in Tenedos Bay, anchored near where the outflow of Unwin Lake is, I took our yellow Lab for his last shore visit before weighing anchor. 20 minutes later, as the windlass brought the anchor up, I looked toward shore to see a 250# +/- black bear walking along the shore, where we had just been.
Happy Birthday! Love the new content and being from Campbell River I recognize many of the waters you are navigating. I notice that your boat is equipped with chart plotters but I see Anne uses an iPad or tablet to navigate and was hoping that you might do an episode on what type of equipment and software Anne uses to navigate around our beautiful waters.
Thanks! :) Good idea, she is using software called Navionics. Here is the web version as an example webapp.navionics.com/#boating There is an app version on her phone and new tablet. She bought an Android rugged tablet called a Tripltek www.tripltek.com/product-page/tripltek9 It's nice since its way brighter than most tablets for use outside, huge battery capacity, waterproof, drop proof, etc. and she uses it with her drone as well. Cheers, Ray

Happy Birthday...I just turned 60 too! The plane was an Aurora, they are used to detect submarines. The long thin tail is part their radar systems.
Cool! thanks for the info
@@LoveYourRV We will be in Naniamo for a month then heading south...hopefully we can meet up.
We may be over camped a Rathtrevor later in October after we get the boat put away for the winter, I'll let you know if we end up there. Cheers, Ray

Anne showed her setup when she did a tour of the boat video www.loveyourrv.com/anne-gives-a-video-tour-of-our-1976-chb-34-trawler/
Hey Ray,
thanks for the video. I noticed that Anne was not stearing the boat. Does the GPS steer the boat to the destination? Thanks
