I think all birds are pretty smart. But the biggest flaw I’ve seen with hawks is that they get to prey focused. They lock onto one thing and keep it a target. However, even when crows are eating, they always have an eye out. They always are weary and never let an ego get the best of them.
I'm witnessing that right now (audio only) for about an hour so far. A murder of crows murdering what I suspect is a mate or young. It's an absolute epic to the death battle. All these decades watching birds, I have never seen or heard anything like this. The crows won't shut up and the hawks continue squealing and circling only to be chased by dozens of crows. It's like the friggin Serengeti out here 😆 in central Virginia USA
We had a hawk preying our yard last summer, I guess it was eyeing the pigeons at out feeders. Could not believe when I saw three crows swarm the hawk during flight and take it to the ground into our neighbours yard.
MNS I hate Hawks! I need to learn how to use a slingshot so I can slam them when they try to get our chickens! That would be so fun! Otherwise, I hate to kill animals. Something like a hawk would be the exception.
Crows can only really do serious damage to a hawk or other predator if they can get them to the ground. When there's a hawk in the air for example crows will often peck at the eyes or other places to get it to crash and if the hawk does crash it's game over
Something similar to this happened in my neighborhood semi-recently. :( It was an owl though, not a hawk. The crows had been actually very strange for about a week, they were almost never on the ground foraging like normal in the mornings like normal. Finally I heard a big commotion and found them all and got there just in time to see about a dozen crows chasing an owl out of the neighborhood! I got chills when I saw all those tiny black feathers that the hawk was ripping up, poor baby. :(
Man, it is just sitting there plucking the feathers off the bird and eating bites of it and the crows keep attacking and the hawk doesn't seem to be scared!
Hes eating a bage/brownish bird. NOT A CROW . Crows are attacking him because they are NATURAL ENEMIES. I support the Crows on this one.😉👍🏼... I cant hate the hawk either but, IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME IF HAWKS WOULD stick to ONLY SNAKES and FISH. or better yet, If they went 100%VEGAN. 👍🏼😉
I hate crows and glad he’s eating them. I raise pecans for a living and they steal a large percentage of my crop. In low crop years they’ll steal them all. They steal songbirds babies from their nest. They’ll kill baby chicks and ducks just like a hawk. I shot 3 this morning. They group up in the thousands in Kansas.
@@jamesbarron1202 I guess you actually experienced the live version of Hekyll & Jekyll? Not funny in the real world! Crows are like the Motor Cycles Gangs of the avian world!

When they start striking they ain't a feared of ya,hawk, lol. Frankly the braver ones were trying to get it to drop the prey and leave,so they can eat it. They only mob to either rob or kill, they only wanted the food, why they pursued it after. Or they wanted it all, including the hawk. They're really not afraid of much, and they are retaliatory
Pretty sure that was a youngster it caught. Crows are really particular about their own kin, esp when it comes to death and danger. I can pretty much guarantee they weren't looking to cannibalize their baby.
no doubt? so the crows will lead us to the promised land i guess these symbols like the hawk really is a metaphor for how we view the preditor and the prey .with the asymmetrical power struggles that are the result of a society geared up on game theory and Redbull. the sanctioned symbols of our world are the preditor angry eagle with his head turn to the left or right?I can't remember but it's that and the bear and remember to not be a sheep or you will be eaten by the lion. so I say you are right the hawk is a remnant of the idea that i am somehow on the side of right with vision and in truth, if you get close I peck your eyes out. I LOVE CROWS. ❤❤
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BIRDS OF ALL !!! 😍😍❤❤
You can’t sit with us
on Wednesdays we wear black
And the crows gathered amongst the streets screaming "MURDERER MURDERER MURDERER MURDERER MURDERER"

The group that visits my back yard daily, always has one bird in a tree as lookout. Without fail, one bird keeping watch.
That’s bc crows have several enemies, hawks really don’t
Hawk: “I’m just sitting there, trying to enjoy a little snack and then, out of nowhere three thugs started in on me.”
Relax Karen......🤪
That's probably their friend he is eating

Oh yeah crows are known to often harass hawks and owl's, it's a behavior called mobbing.
Crow hate eagles. I love how brave they are.
Yeah, they are also much more intelligent.
That's a hawk
The crows are my kids when I'm trying to eat
"WHATCHA EATIN?"
That hawk has balls just sitting there while the crows gather next to it and attack it at the beginning
It needs to feed more than it needs to fight. Energy isn't free for them, so the Hawk will take a few hits to live and fight another day.
Obviously that's all they can do. The hawk knows the crows will only mock, nothing more.
Like tossing pebbles into the ocean
@@henthust9784 Crows know its only a matter of time before one of them is at the receiving end of those talons

They wanted it out of their territory. Mission accomplished

amazing vid thank you!!
when a hawk has a kill, it actually doesnt give a f about alot of things. even people. they dont scare off their kill easily.
True....I've driven by hawks on roadside kill and if anything they might pull the kill a little farther off the road.
I can see 10,000s crows driving along at dusk downtown. But I only see a hawk once or twice a week. Usually red tailed
What city are you in?
The reason why crows harass hawks is because they see them as a threat overtime I see a hawk outside the crows always go after it...
hawks got their baby
