Since no one here seems to have commented this yet, I will. There's a way to make your transitions a LOT smoother than Jordan's. You can use the /execute command. Do /execute @p ~ ~ ~ tp [~x ~y ~z]. This will teleport you a number of blocks in relation to where you are at the moment, which will make your transition that much smoother. For example, in Jordan's case he went from 130, 67, 144 to 124, 64, 37. The command would be /execute ~ ~ ~ tp ~-6 ~-3 ~-107. I hope Eystreem sees this comment, because I think he could definitely find better uses for this than me. Cheers!

@@airworx2911 Basically, the execute command in a command block does the command as if the player is the one typing the command. Without doing this, the command block will teleport you in relation to the COMMAND BLOCK and not you, which would ruin the effect. When you do the command /tp and then the numbers, it teleports you to a certain set of coordinates. However, if you add "~" before the numbers, instead of teleporting you to those coordinates, it will teleport you however many blocks away that you specified. (for example, /tp @p ~0 ~10 ~0 would teleport you up ten blocks instead of to the 0, 10, 0 coordinates in your world). This makes transitions smoother, as if you're in between two blocks while walking, you will teleport and STILL be between two blocks while walking, rather than being teleported to the middle of a new block, which will look choppy. Again, hope Jordan sees this.

Tip:it doesnt work if too far away
it depends on how long it takes for the chunks to load once you walk through. if your portal is really close to the first one, like the 2nd portal is only 2 blocks away from the first portal, walking through will be no problems at all. it will look smooth. but if your 2nd portal is like 2000 blocks away from the first one, it will take like a minute or longer for the chunks to load once you walk through. so if you want to have a smooth look of entering the portal, either make your 2nd portal not far from the first one. that way it will look smooth walking through. but if you want to make the portal far away, but walking through it doesnt take a minute or longer, you must have an extremely fast and great computer or phone/tablet.
Clarification that this was just a joke and I know that it’s because of chunk loading.
Fun fact: for the r=1 step, i wanted to see what happens if i did an r=2. so i did. but when the portal was complete with an r=2, nothing different happened. it was the same as a portal with r=1. but if you want to try an r=3 or r=4, you could try since i have not tried it yet.

It worked for me it takes a while to get it right but as long as you follow instructions it works this is what I recommend
-make sure to have a copy of the world so if it glitches you still have your world
-make sure command settings are correct
-make sure portals face the same way
Also I did notice that there is no way to go back through the same portal because it glitches. To go around this I recommend making 2 portals one to arrive in and one the go back. You can try the make it go back through the same portal but for me it just kept going in a loop since command blocks are too close. I hope this helps 🤗

Tip:Turn off clouds because when you look through the portal there may be clouds that you can see and when you teleport. The clouds may disappear or change places it will really mess up your portal
Tip: he can also use structure blocks so he don't work so much hard
