    Just a note on the 2022 Rose Bowl between Utah and OSU, Utah did not have more of their starters than OSU. Utah's secondary was decimated, they had an RB playing corner, Cam Rising went out with injury in the second half and their best D-lineman was playing with a broken rib. OSU had more of their production guys than Utah. Even with that legendary performance by N'Jigba and Stroud, they only won by 3 points on a game winning field goal. OSU still probably wins that playoff game but Utah would make it closer than most would imagine.

    FINALLY someone with some common sense to realize my Longhorns are WAY overhyped this year despite all the losses (both internally and key players) and not a Queen sEwers fan whatsoever! Only thing I would change is we are not making the playoff at all...we are going 9-3 at best! Michigan, Owho and/or Georgia, and a game we always lose that we shouldn't (Florida, Kentucky, or even those damn Gaggies...)

    • @collegefootballwithsam
      @collegefootballwithsam  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In my updated video I do not have them making the CFP at all. I think the losses at DT are too much to bear, the secondary (while better) will still be bad, and Ewers is not consistent enough to beat elite defenses.

    Utah is a solid pick to win the Big 12 and earn a bye, but I think K-State has a really special player in Avery Johnson. His performance against NC State was impressive. Keep an eye on that team because I think they could make some noise in the postseason.

    What bowl games do you project each team to go to? The four quarterfinals this season are the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, and Peach Bowls. The semis are the Orange and Cotton Bowls. Well, if you have Georgia at #1, you’d think the Bulldogs would choose to play in the Peach Bowl in their home state. Michigan likely would want to save their fans money in case they advance to the semis, so they likely would go to the Sugar Bowl. Florida State likely would go to the Fiesta Bowl, and that would then put Utah in the Rose Bowl. Creating in your projections a Georgia-UND Peach Bowl, a Michigan-PSU Sugar Bowl, a Florida State-Oregon Fiesta Bowl, and a Utah-Ohio State Rose Bowl (a rematch of the 2022 Rose Bowl). The semifinals would prolly be Georgia-OSU in the Orange and Michigan-Oregon in the Cotton.

    12 team playoff is 100% better than the 4 team playoff which was better than the BCS which was better than the AP. I have problems with conference champs not getting home playoff games, having a committee choose the at large teams based on whatever they feel like, and now the group of 5 getting an auto birth (with cincy, UCF, Houston, and smu joining the power 4, the group of 5 will have trouble putting up playoff quality teams)

Penn state is talented enough to win the Natty and the coordinators to. It comes down to Franklin. I love my Lions but I am reaching an area of concern with Franklin. I know we will never fire him. Your thinking is flawed. I do like it, though. LMAO! I would love to see 3 Big Ten teams in the top 4 but... I think this is the year where we see Xichigan lose a game that they really shouldn't have. I also think that Oregon will slip up, too. It is getting about that time for my Buckeyes, too.
    Georgia may have the better offense against Ohio State... Ohio State may have the better defense. However, it would be very easy for the Bucks to have the better offense. Very easy for Georgia to have the better defense, too. I would love to see my Buckeyes get another shot at Georgia.

    What most of you guys are missing is PJ Fleck. After playing Michigan, in a game that Michigan played 74/75 players that traveled to Minnesota: after comparing Michigan to a Boa Constrictor, Fleck said “that’s the best team I’ve seen in 11 years of being a head coach.”
    They would go on to prove him correct because NO TEAM in history could’ve done what they did. Love them or hate them, no one could go undefeated without their head coach for 6 games, all while dealing with the BS that they were cleared of, and win the Natty in the playoff era. Why? Because no team ever did it before. Because of that, they’ll forever go down in college football lore.
    Missouri, conversely truly lost everything and even with that soft schedule, it’ll be difficult to make the playoffs, imo for them. osu/Penn St/ Oregon will flex their muscles and show why the B1G is so tough. I think Bama will take a step back and Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and possibly LSU/Oklahoma will lead the SEC.

      Oregon State and Washington State have a schedule alliance with the MWC. They may try to poach the MWC teams in the future, but the MWC arguably now has more stability than the PAC and ACC. Their media contracts dont end until 2025, and a lot of the MWC teams have a hate relationship with the PAC in general. Unless the PAC can somehow garuntee like a 3-5 increase on media deals long term Im not sure those teams join the PAC2 (especially considering even with how weak the PAC is they still are trying power moves on the MWC).
      For this next season I really dont see OSU or WSU winning more than 8 games. They are gonna go positive in records vs the MWC, but they play the hardest teams in the MWC all on the road, which even at a neutral or home site it wouldnt be easy to play the best of the MWC. I think Fresno State and Wyoming both sweep the PAC, Boise State, UNLV and Air Force Split them, and SDSU takes out WSU in a surprise.
      it will be an interesting year to see if the PAC has better records than the MWC champ. I dont think they survive the MWC conference record, but a lot of MWC teams play (yet again) ridiculous OOC schedules.
      If by some miracle a MWC team actually goes undefeated they are undeniably the G5 seed, and they really should be like a 6th seed at worst. That conference has OOC road games against Michigan, Oregon, Texas, Wisconsin, NC State, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Iowa, UNC, Louisville, UCLA, USC, Washington, and KState.

Michigan has a ton of questions on offense and on parts of their staff, no doubt, but they are not worse in most categories compared to those two schools because their defense returns All-American players and several great second stringers, I cannot say the same for Oregon and Texas' defense.
