    Gosh Felicia great videos! I have many years experience being a musician and in the 80's and 90's I did software development and technical writing (manuals) for software companies. I have since been teaching as Music professor and adjunct faculty at a local University - but there are not any high paying positions available only a very small number of private music lessons and maybe one or two classes at the (very low) adjunct salary level. I have recently completed a Masters Degree in Music and am now finishing up a PhD degree in Musicology, and as you may well know, graduate students do nothing but writing writing writing writing especially for the dissertation. My previous experience doing technical writing and copywriting for software companies adds a lot to my focus. I am looking to get into doing technical writing or copywriting as a government contractor, this includes manuals, training handbooks, technical manuals, military manuals, software manuals, brochures, ad copy, and most kinds of writing. Writing writing writing! How can I break in? Thanks!!!!!

    • @feliciamdupree
      @feliciamdupree  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Roger, first you need to get setup inside the government systems, apply for certifications for which you qualify, and then market to the agencies that buy what you sell. If you have no past performance, you'll need to start as a subcontractor with someone that has government contracts. That is how you can build past performance. I also did a quick video for you. Hi Felicia, I am newly registered with Sam. I have not started any bids, but I have researched my field in my state? There was more than what I offer in some of the opportunities, but it’s something I could fulfill. Do you think I should price the cost plus my labeling fees in the initial bid, or should it be an estimate for bargaining purposes?

    • @feliciamdupree
      @feliciamdupree  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what you mean by price the cost plus labeling fees. You should price cost to delivery as well as a profit. If that's not what you're asking, clairfy for me.
