This was such a fantastic game. I was watching both this game on my phone & AEW Dynasty on my laptop. Both were freaking fantastic for me being both a pro wrestling fan & Winnipeg Jets fan. I pray we get another fun, crazy games like game 1. I love games like that because it's fun to watch & makes me feel great about our team being gritty & resilient. I'd rather have our team being fun & gritty than boring & dominant. That's just me though being a Jets fan & hardcore hockeyhead lol.
Manson, Toews, and Rantanen all played trash. Girard in for Jones next game, maybe Kovy in too, this team can get better. But the biggest deal will be if they can get just average goaltending. If they did this game it would have ended 5-2, maybe 5-1

My biggest issues I saw from the Jets were the PK and early game. Period one being outshot 11-1 at one point is wild. I thought the fourth line wasn't as good as it could be since I really wanted Perfetti Namestnikov and Iafallo but Gus is good too. But yeah period one/early game was questionable, Helle was just a little bit shaky not as good as he normally could be but still good and that penalty kill was rough. We evaluated correctly the Avs goalie compared to ours we were right. Except. If Helle was slightly worse tied 7-7 OT. Helle wasn't even playing his best brand either. But without him and (not counting LB being great) chances are we would have lost. So it's like Helle wasn't playing his best but at the same time we needed him. Also, why aren't we using Miller and Samberg in third line defense? That would be good I think along with a fourth line Perfetti Namestnikov Iafallo. So main issues were early game, PK and Helle was a little shaky. But still a good win to pump up the rest of the team for playoffs.
Did anybody else notice that just about every goal the jets scored was top right? I'm beginning to think there's a blind spot there lol I would agree that the jets were overly excited and were pushing themselves too much to the point that they were making mistakes. One of the things I've noticed with the jets of late is that they have a turnover problem. They aren't completing their passes very well. Too many times I've been noticing that Jet 'A' passes the puck to Jet 'B', but falls short, so Jet 'B' has to turn around to snatch the puck, or Jet 'B' just completely MISSES the puck and therefore loses it. Not sure why that's been happening more lately, but it's something I've noticed. Maybe I'm imagining it though lol
Really for me the jets need to come out stronger to start periods. Every single period it was the avs that came out flying. Also wont be sustainable to score 7 a game so need to tighten up the defense. Dont think your gonna be scoring 6 goals on Helle again either. Regardless a wins a win but lots to improve on
The way both teams played is unsustainable. Jets will lose if they don’t tighten up on defence. Avs will lose if they keep playing their top forwards to death and they need some goaltending. Looking forward to a lower scoring chess match next game.
Annunen was sick and wasn't even on the bench for this game. He'll likely be sick on Tuesday, so don't be surprised if Georgiev is back for that one too. But if he plays the same, it'll likely be the last game he plays for the club, either way. But playoffs don't really start until someone loses at home, so they've got space to try him once more before going back to Denver, imho
Nunnanen is questionable. he has the flu. thier third stringer Holm has ) NHL starts and an .891 AHL SV% 2.97 GAA.. they don't really have much to turn to.
Avs think their all high and mighty just because the avs outplayed us, truth is the jets played like they did in nashville , my guess they will shut them down next game, it pisses me off that the avs just blame their goalie, the truth is most of those goals were good , the ones on helleybuck not great, the smount of shots for the avs come from the outside and most of them were in the first and the third period, avs fans are wrong to feel good , I swear they are so annoying
My man, look again at the shot locations. Sure, they shot from near the blueline a bunch but that was with deflections and screens. But most of them were right in home plate, danger-central. Horrible defensive breakdowns all game for the Jets
