  • St Peter's Church dates back to the 14th century and is located in the centre of Hever next to Hever Castle. The Church is best known for being the final resting place of Sir Thomas Boleyn, Anne Boleyn's father and Elizabeth I's grandfather. Thomas is not the only Boleyn buried in the church. Henry Boleyn, son of Sir Thomas Boleyn, thought to have died in infancy is buried near his father. His tomb is marked by a brass cross.

When I went to Hever Castle, I walked around the church yard looking for his gravestone for nearly an hour and I was so disappointed and confused when I couldn't find it. Never thought to look inside, even though that makes the most sense on reflection!

Great video. Thanks. Much appreciated. Strange Elizabeth Howard Boleyn wasn't buried with her husband Thomas Boleyn. Shame Anne Boleyn's grave is so modest.

The detail of the brass is amazing after all this time. I actually came across a rubbing of Thomas Boleyn when I was clearing out an antiques dealership. would there be anyway for me to find out it's authenticity?

Any idea as to why there is brickwork on the side of the tomb? I wonder if at a later date another Boleyn joined him?
