    Thanks for the information. I use the Ambrosia Blucon with Libre sensor, It helps me to monitor readings on the Apple Watch and iPhone, the alarms help me at night. It also has food insight option which helps to show which food effects on glucose and I can track my activity status too like exercise, running etc.

    Nice presentation well done. I started using Dexcom G6 6 months ago. I am 57 y and having T2D since 1996. I have tried lots of tools you can imagine. And I can say it’s the first time I am seeing I am ahead of my killer. 😂

    Thank you for this extremely helpful video! I would love to track myself with Levels, but I live in Hawaii and they don’t ship here. A big favor..would by chance remember the packaging it came in.. e.g., was it a FedEx box, or USPS? and might you remember the approximate dimensions? My sister lives in Oregon and I’m wondering how it would be for her to ship it to me. Thank you in advance for any reply!!

    Great review! Quick question, what do you do with the app the 11 months following your month with CGM's unless you decide to do more CGM's?

    • @Nourishable
      @Nourishable  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reality is there isn't much specifically within the app that is useful unless you are actively using a CGM unless you're continuing to dive in the analytics from your previously collected data.

    I may have GSD9, with low fasting levels. Do you think Levels will pick up on this? or do you think the Libre will think this is an error with the sensor?

    If you are not measuring even baseline fasting insulin, Trigs, and HDL, then how does BG levels and excursions alone help you?

  • @DennisMathias
    @DennisMathias ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, she's over the top as a qualified presenter AFAIC. But isn't A1C a long term indicator of glucose? Isn't that number good enough?

    I love the idea of CGMs for health optimisation. Your own data can be very powerful. But the issue I have found is that if you have little muscle in your arms then the CGM is not accurate, is painful or just does not last for the full 2 weeks. This means those with muscle loss due to illness or suffering from sarcopenia can not benefit from this important technology.

    • @Nourishable
      @Nourishable  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I wasn't aware of the issues in people with low muscle mass, though I have experienced several CGMs not lasting the full two weeks.

    • @littlevoice_11
      @littlevoice_11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Nourishable yes and it is very painful as there is very limited muscle to put the sensor into. Therefore the interstitial fluid is also less and you are more likely to damage the tube as it bends against bone or ligaments.
      The other issue is that many sensor algorithms are tested only on the arm. So moving the sensor to the abdomen, hip, thigh or area where someone may have more mass can not guarantee a good reading. The blood glucose to interstitial reading is calculated and the companies will replace damaged or faulty sensors but ONLY if it is inserted in the correct location on the body. Such a shame. I hope you can speak to Levels about this to see what they say.
      People with muscle loss are one of the demographics likely to really benefit from data driven lifestyle changes.

    The first 12-24hr after inserting your CGM is sometimes not very accurate.

  • @jayhay1237
    @jayhay1237 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems to me that once you have learned what foods have which effects, that you wouldn't need more data? I'm glad to learn from others rather than spend $400 to learn on my own.

    • @johnneiberger7311
      @johnneiberger7311 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's even worse than that. The $400 is just the membership plus the first month of CGM sensors. The sensors are $200/month after that, so a Levels membership plus CGMs would be $2,600 per year. I think that puts it out of reach for quite a few people.

  • @eclampsium
    @eclampsium ปีที่แล้ว

    Why TF did they put an 8h limit of info in the sensor…? Why not 12h for example… just to make people loose data when they are busy…?

  • @miaflaherty4752
    @miaflaherty4752 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks Lara for sharing great details. I'm utilizing Ambrosia's real-time Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system, which incorporates the FreeStyle Libre sensor in conjunction with the BluCon and LinkBluCon applications. This setup has significantly contributed to my weight loss journey, helping me shed 15 lbs within a span of 30 days. The 'food insights' feature in the application has been instrumental in my progress as it allows me to understand how different foods affect my body. Consequently, I've been able to limit intake of foods that significantly raise my glucose levels. This, in turn, has been highly beneficial for my intermittent fasting regimen.
