Love your videos. My house flooded last year and the contractor took off and never finished anything and left a lot of things either unfinished or just plain screwed up. We have had to do alot of things ourselves and your videos have taught me the right way to do things. So thanks!
Home Improvement How To's We had a plumber install our bathtubs with 3 piece tub surrounds. One tub was caulked with clear caulking and it's separated and allowing water in it.... I'm taking that caulking out. Anybsuggwatikns/how to on caulking so water doesn't poor down side of tub and ruin /cause paint to peel off?
thank you you've taught me a lot I came from nothing and manage to have a small 1 man company and painting is one of the services I can do thanks to you.
Funny part.. most homeowners don't care. Most "cheap" diyers don't care for detail stuff. Imperfections drive me nuts. My wife and her family.. not so much. Runs, loss of texture around trim due to overpainting, cracks in drywall... They don't care. Love your vids and work.
I was getting worried there for a moment like almost fell 1 to many passes thought another drip scan was going to happen lol. great job was on the edge of my seat lol
Hi thanks so much for all your tips.. I need a recommendation, I hired a company to do my kitchen cabinets and the whole process has turned into total nightmare. The paint has been pealing and cracking. He has tried to fix it was but we are going on 3 times and everything seems to get worse as we retouch. I decided to go at it myself. What is a good quality spray gun that a DIY can purchase that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Also would I need to sand and prime all over again.
It probably cracked because it wasn't sanded. They could of used latex paint over oil paint also. My old boss and I had the same problem years ago. The woman didn't want oil paint because of the smell. It should of been primed before paint. How did it work out for you Lulu?
Quick question... How do you get paint runs? I thought it was from over spray? Or is it due to the paint not sticking to the surface. Thanks love the videos.
Could also take a 3/8 microfiber nap for that type of fake wood finish. Takes away the need to remask since the glass frame should still look good from the initial spray
You need to wait about 48 hours for the paint to dry before sanding if you don't want to make boogers with the paint. If you live in a fast-changing climate it's also important to anticipate how much time you have before the rain and match it with the drying time of your paint. Benjamin Moores takes longer to dry so if you don't pay attention some of the paint will end up diluted on the doorstep. So one guy on the team needs to be on the weather alert.
U don't mask any if the inside casing for over spray? We do put paper on te inside outside the door and around the wall ,and 1 piece of floor paper, rich people will see everything
Paint run easy to fix it water with sand paper 180 or 220 decent how dry is the surface.... But had to be complete dry the surface that you’re going to be sending
your older tip set at a28oo of spray, should force plenty of that stippled paint through you door knob holes.why not just put some tape on the inside. of the door where the knobs are.also the way,he painted the bottem of the door style will leave a funky build up .shot the bottem,in a lazy way.btw, you really need a wand when your that, close?i know it aint for better control
Tools and products are... Need have work on the grammar now. :-) You may want to type what you want to type what you are going to say in MS Word and let that program correct the spelling and grammar for you. :-) Love the tips, keep them coming!!
I wouldn't set up a spray gun just for a door would use a paint brush an if u cannot get a really good finish with a brush u have no business being a painter

Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
Looks great! How are you able to spray the door with it closed? Will definitely save time, though will you see a ridge of paint when it is opened?
Bro I wish I could find the balls to spray with only a few inches of paper protecting the overspray, you guys are freakin BOSS!
great video good tip, its nice to see john taking part in the videos
Yes, he is awesome!
Nicely done, thanks for the tips, should you use a fine wet sponge after med.

Titan Capspray 115. You can either have a good gun or an inexpensive gun. You will have to sand or strip and start over
Home Improvement How To's thanks 👍🏼

Does this method work on metal too?
Quick question... How do you get paint runs? I thought it was from over spray? Or is it due to the paint not sticking to the surface. Thanks love the videos.
Chris, why didn't you use the hand held sprayer?
Thanks for all of the great tips!
I see you spray with the door shut. Doesn't that leave a ridge around the door face?
Iam glad someone else made a mistake so I can fix it too. That music went well with the airless sprayer machine it gave it an extra beat 😁.
Nice door looks great, chris
Thanks Henry!
Nice, I love fine finish spray tips from Graco
Could also take a 3/8 microfiber nap for that type of fake wood finish. Takes away the need to remask since the glass frame should still look good from the initial spray
Thanks for sharing!
How can you spray the door properly when it's partially closed ,you can't all the hinge side
We were not painting the inside edges of the door it was masked off
Great time to use the Graco ultimate battery powered sprayer. I bought one on your recommendations. It is awesome for small jobs.
Yes it is! Glad you like it too!
Is the door partially open? How did you keep over spray from going inside?
It was not open
Awesome fix!!!! thank's for sharing!!!!
What type of paint should I be using for a fiberglass door?
We use superpaint from Sherwin Williams
Does this process work for mistakes on spray painted furniture?
Yes
break out a 1/4" nap roller cover to spot touch-up after sanding no?
Would you quote painting a house in Huntsville, AL?
I got a local quote for 8500
I use denature alcohol ...rub with rag..dont rub to much... rub a little let denature evap...n repeat till mils are good
Isn’t a 310 tip designed to spray on low pressure? Why so would 2800psi be necessary? I use a 210 fflp at 1200psi and get a flawless finish.
I was wondering. I wonder if it's a standard 310 not the FFLP 310.
Looks perfect now!
Thanks !
how do you fix it in a fragile interior trim paint?
Doesn't the door have to be open to spray??...or taken off the hinges ??
SuperWoodyboy no, just mask the frame and take out the weather stripping
How do you not get awful blisters from sanding with the sponge?
Don’t over sand

The annotation says "repray with an older 310 tip". "repray" ? Did you feel that you needed devine intervention for this?
hey good tip when wet sanding add some soap to the water your using it keep it going without adding water and keep it lube
I would love to show my attempt to spray doors and how horrible it went for me. Im currently looking for professionals this time
thanks
You're welcome!

Thanks!
Use 180 grit on an orbital. 2 min fix. No patch no bondo
Why did he use wet sand paper?
your older tip set at a28oo of spray, should force plenty of that stippled paint through you door knob holes.why not just put some tape on the inside. of the door where the knobs are.also the way,he painted the bottem of the door style will leave a funky build up .shot the bottem,in a lazy way.btw, you really need a wand when your that, close?i know it aint for better control

awesome scripture brother! do u pray in holy spirit?
mr. Idaho
cant i give you a 1 time sponsor for your gift of knowledge instead of subscribing to a monthly subscription ?
The guy that touched it should've been the guy to sand and fix it, he wouldn't do that twice 😂
lol, true
Situations like that is where I bust out my Hvlp and call it a day..

lol, thanks for the correction and thanks for watching!
Why do you guys spray so much? Many things yall do can be done by brush or roller. Arent you concerned with wind carrying over spray past the masking?
We have ways to reduce overspray and spraying leaves a better finish and is more efficient
I think im looking at the guy who touched it
Wet sand
yep
Oooohhhh.... I bet someone got fired.
lol, no
Shipping cost on the websight are outragest should at least be free after you spend 50 or 100 bucks or go down in cost instead it goes up
Interesting, we’ll have to look into that!
I wouldn't set up a spray gun just for a door would use a paint brush an if u cannot get a really good finish with a brush u have no business being a painter
