The timing of this Tricky Thursday is perfect! My 4th tool is a tailor's clapper to set the steam press. 1st is my fancy store- bought model. Next is a home shop find-an 8" long 1.5" x 1.5" table leg. I carry one in my travel kit. (I had four and gave two away.)
YES! I didn't have a clapper until recently and I love it! American Modern Vintage has some beautiful clappers if you are interested in getting one. 💚I'll be doinga video about them soon!
I don’t mind ironing if it’s for something I’m sewing. I haven’t been in very good mood for sewing this past month. I was told by 3 Doctors that I had cancer starting October 28. The day before Thanksgiving I had a procedure an endoscopy and the Doctor came and told me and my husband that there was absolutely no evidence of cancer anywhere. I do need to get my gallbladder removed. So no a little ironing isn’t going to get to me. Best Thanksgiving ever!
I am so sorry that you are having such scary health struggles, You are right, compared to all that, I would take ironing any day! I have had my gallbladder removed. If it is causing your grief, get it out of there!! I am very happy to hear that the doctors said there is no evidence of Cancer! Celebrate every win!! 💚
I learned that when I was auditing a couture sewing class. It's so nice to be able to see through to your project! That is what has always bothered me about the muslin ones. So happy it helped! 💚
Be careful about using synthetic pressing cloths. My iron tends to run HOT...and I went to press something synthetic and it just MELTED away under my iron! I had to really heat my iron up to get the residue off it and then sandpaper it till it was clean. Needless to say, I was NOT happy about it!

Yikes! 💌 for the happy in your Thanksgiving day. Sew when you're ready, and jump on or binge watch until then.
I’ve never seen the organza idea before. Thank you!

great point! This is why silk organza would be the best thing to use. 💚
