USA is land of opportunity . In 1975 I was single with one child. My son was 7 years old when I met a young handsome American , and we married. Although I was afraid to go to the States I was forced to because my husband insisted that he cannot go back to the States without us. We live from payday to payday from his salary from the military. In the States it is easy to find a job if you are not choosy . Together we all three were working, my son works at Mcdonald . At the age of 18 years old he joined the military and when he had enough knowledge to live in the community after 5 years he resigned his military career. He applied in a Nuclear Facility and worked his way up. Now he is a CEO in one of those companies.

Thank you Violeta for sharing your inspiring story! It’s incredible to hear how your family overcame challenges and found success in the U.S. Your son’s journey from working at McDonald's to becoming a CEO is a testament to hard work and determination. Stories like yours really highlight the opportunities available and the importance of perseverance. Wishing you and your family continued success - jay

Hey Jay! Working in the 100 degree heat and over 110 heat index all day long keeps me fit. There is not a whole lot of gas in the tank for a workout after that. As much as I love the Philippines, it was a good thing that you were able to bring Idelyn and Keiri to the U.S. during Covid. Rural America is a great place for kids to grow up. Kids learn to be more self-sufficient when they spend a lot of time outdoors. They also learn what a hard day of work is all about. Man! You are 100 percent correct with the 80's and even 90's phone calls to girls. I would rehearse what I was going to say. It never came out the way you wanted it to. You have a large group of people who support you and are interested in your success. Keep the dream alive!

You seems not a typical American in today's trend where many are not concern about family and norturing childrens. I salute you for your perspectives on valuing family. That cultures is innate with the Filipinos and Latinos in contrast to the west and maybe it is one of the reason why Filipinos generally cannot accommulate so much wealth because of that culture of attachments.

OMG you brought back my COVID lockdown memories in the Philippines. Went to celebrate my current 5 year olds 1 year birthday back then and after a few weeks total lockdown. It was like prison in a town in a province we didn’t know anyone. Army guys with M16s in cammo taking temperatures with that hand held device. Fail and go to quarantine for suspicion of COVID. Yep I’ll never forget it. Took us 4 months to get out with US Embassy help on a “sweeper” flight picking up stranded tourists. The Manila airport looked like the airport in that movie The Killing Fields when Pol Pot was taking over Cambodia and all the expats and connected people jamming and pushing in the airport terminal to get on their flight. Utter chaos. Hack when are baby got sick in that town they wouldn’t even see us at the hosipital because we were from America and they were blaming the tourist for bringing COVID there. I learned from that once I retire there live close to an airport and have a bug out plan ready to roll at a moments notice so you try to beat that Govt Gone Wild lockdown idiocy trap. Take care. P.S. I’ll be watching your channel for years… unless you start doing bikini haul try ons clickbait haha LoL some of those Filipina TH-cam girls, geez.

Philippines is about as stable as China and US let it be. I saw plenty and truly hurt my heart. Could go down this 🐇 hole all night. Glad you got out, it was true nightmare. Won't be using bikini clad girls, promise. 😉

After building and running a business since I was 20 I've reached the point that the thought of selling out and living in the philippines for 6 months and USA 6 months is extremely tempting. Great video, just found your channel. And subscribed. I’m 51 a carpenter, I have my own business in south west Florida. I’m very healthy, a former bodybuilder. I moved here from Massachusetts in 2018. I have one daughter she is almost 17. I’ve been considering visiting the Philippines. I got divorced in 2010. Been single for about 4 years now. Just contemplating life a lot lately.
What do I want? What to do? Where to go? Not a fan of western culture and dating. Not dating at all actually. But also don’t want to be alone rest of my life. Never wanted more kids but last few months I’ve changed my mind- I would love to have a second chance for a family and do it right.

I lived in Fort Lauderdale in 08 for a year, I used to miss it. But the Philippines is a whole new level. Your never truly old in the Phils. If your healthy and fit, its like being captain of the team, star quarterback. lol Don't listen to anyone who says Phils has changed, girls arent this or that anymore. Most negatives about the girls come from very unhealthy men who have aged. Suprising number of men think they are healthy because they walk daily. Visit Phils, set aside enought time to relax and take it all in, minimumly id say that takes a month. I couldn't agree more on your thought of being a dad again. I think we all really need that feeling to live a longer more fulfiling life. Being "free" of kids is not a blessing, being a leader, protector, "dad" is awesome and will keep us pushing and not getting comfortable. Hope to hear more from you, especially if you get close to trying the PHILS out. reach out anytime! jay

This is a very interesting topic, i 100% agree that during covid the philippines had very draconian measures, but they had too because our healthcare system there will not be able to handle it, its not like in the US where people are so spread out(except new york) and thats why new york was hit the hardest, there is very few hospitals in the philippines with little to almost non existent life saving technology like the ECMO(extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) we dont have alot of ventilators, no doctors if there are they are also dying because of covid, it will overwhelm the system that is why they had to implement draconian measures… and yes it sucks, i mean even countries like italy because of their “socialist” system now they literally have to just let everybody over age 70 die to ration resources we are very lucky in the US, europe always criticise us for having poor outcomes, we have poor outcomes because the types of patients we have are really high acuity patients thats because of alot of co morbidities and chronic illness and why? Because of the kind of food americans eat or choose to eat high carbohydrate high sugar diet.. which is often advertised by BIG agriculture and big pharma its a constant cycle to get people sick eat more crap and get sick and take more medicines its a business but again we have a FREE MARKET ECONOMY AKA capitalism, you just need to be an INFORMED consumer we have healthy food in the US the problem is americans dont choose it..😂 but we are very blessed to be here, im filipino and will be a US citizen soon, i wish i worked on this earlier so i can vote… its too late now… now the illegals are eating the cats and dogs and i cant vote against it 😩

Thank you Rosana for sharing this perspective! I completely agree that earning and saving in the U.S. can provide a solid foundation for a happy retirement in the Philippines. It’s inspiring to see how many OFWs work hard to build a better future for themselves and their families. I appreciate your support and good wishes - jay

I disagree with your prisoner comment during COVID in Philippines, I spent half the time in Philippines and half the time in Canada during COVID 2020-2022 (USA was the same) and I had more fun (and I felt less prisoner) in Phils than in the West, YES there were alot of tougher rules and lots of restrictions, BUT you can still spend time in the beach and nobody will say anything, if anything the beaches were better because there were less tourist and it was more fun than in any city in Canada or USA. I remember in 2020 when I got stranded in Philippines for 9 months and then going back to the West for a year in 2020-2021, I said I rather get stranded and spend COVID months in Philippines than in the West, and that was even with all the restrictions and I also had a baby daughter just like you.

That's odd,, I recall my daughter wasn't allowed to be outside without the fear of rewards being given to locals for calling swat on us. Or was she allowed to go into stores. Disagreement is fine, doesn't make it true. When I got her to America, she was allowed to be outside and into stores, parks.

@@jaysphilippines Yeah but that lasted only afew months, end of March to May, the same it lasted for afew months in Canada or USA and probably the whole world (except China which lasted years after), I remember family members in Canada and USA told me they also couldn't go out outside for a couple of months when COVID started, the police will give them a fined, and you could also call the police if you hear big gatherings happening in an apartment or a house party, etc, etc.
And I remember there was alot of fake news, I was stranded in the province btw, specially coming from Manila where people said there was curfews after 10 pm or whatever time (this happened like 4-5 months after COVID started), BUT when I got there on August of 2020, I spent alot of times at night all over Manila and no curfew happened, you could get an uber and taxi well past midnight and nobody will stop you.

@calo2006 i have 3 grown kids in America, while it obviously was disappointing to see it anywhere, out of cities had options to serve or not serve people, masks or not. I could still take her out and play in America without fear of swat in red state we live in. California, new York. Well they was different. I'll agree it was all bad. But, being told I can only grocery shop on certain days and or risk being apprehended by swat teams without my covid pass, 😆 that only happened in Phil's. But Phil's takes it orders from its masters , those certain un named countries who run things.

@@jaysphilippines Yeah I agree, during the month of April of 2020 (and even on May in some provinces), they needed to have a pass to get groceries and be walking in the street, but like I said it only lasted 1 or 2 months. So yeah during that time 1-2 months you can say that USA and Canada was less boring during COVID, but after that from June and up I rather choose been in the Philippines than been in the West, more fun over there. And that's me loving Canadian Summers, lots of things to do in Canada, but that year on 2020 everything was close in the West, like fun events, festivals, concerts, amusement parks, camping, public beaches, anything in group gatherings was close. So it was boring in that sense, yeah you have more freedom to go out, BUT to do what? there was nothing open that year! So that's why I said I had more fun in the Philippines because you know you could always find something open over there (illegally open, lol) I remember hiding when we hear the police, but most of the time the police never came. Also the beaches were amazing, that time they used to call me Island Boy because I used to camp sometimes during COVID and a couple of times I spent the night. Of course my daughter and partner couldn't stay that long with me in the beach because my daughter was only afew months old so they had to go back home which was like a 5 minutes motorcycle ride.
