That's awful. I lost my stepdad to cancer this June and he was only in his early 50s. Losing someone is always hard, even more hard when their life isn't even fully lived. My condolences to you and those you cherish.
I have a lot of nostalgia for TR Octane since he was my first Voyager when I started collecting transformers. I’m still to this day reall impressed by the transformation but with the nosecone that completely hides away to give the back of the tanker a (relatively) flat surface. I hope an Astrotrain would try something similar one day regarding my the front of the steam locomotive and the cockpit of the space shuttle to avoid that neck warmer that Shuttle modes usually have.
I've always had a soft spot for Octane, the only episode I ever saw him in was Starscreams ghost, and his friendship with Sandstorm made him stick out in my mind. I had the delux toy growing up and even with the jank, I've been yearning for a legends scale Octane for a while. I'll definitely pick this up in the future.
The Decepticon Triplechangers were never a trio By the time Octane showed up in the cartoon, Blitzwing was gone and Astrotrain barely showed up. The only time all 3 of them showed up together was 1 scene in The Headmasters
They might as well be, considering their entire gimmick is having 3 forms and there's 3 of them. Besides, the Autobot Triplechanger trio came out in 1986, not treating the Decepticon Triplechangers as a trio fucks up the balance.
@Truegear the autobots also weren't a trio Springer, Sandstorm, and Broadside are never all on screen together, they barely interact with each other Springer's doing his own thing with the main cast, Broadside's just a big dude in the background and Sandstorm's a pacifist who has more of a relationship with Octane than either of them do with the rest of their respective factions triplechangers
Honestly I think all 3 of these triple changers are great and I'd love to get them. I don't own any third party figures so maybe sometime these guys could be my first ones.
Octane (Octone? did they get the name back?) is actually my favorite of the decepticon triple changers. Looking forward to seeing what they do with him in mainline.
ah, no wonder he's the only MFT triple changer that I can still easily find these days (and for cheap to boot, he's cheaper than hasbro deluxes) 😅 genuinely thanks doc because this IS a review I've been looking for since I've been wondering if I should give it a whirl, might do now because of the aforementioned cheapness (and I am one of those people to whom octane is a fan favorite) but ofc I wish I'd found their astrotrain instead lol btw are you planning on getting iron factory's liokaiser?
Octane's alt modes during the scale comparisons really makes me think: Would a legend scale g1 scorponok be a scorponok that fits on your pocket or a scorponok that scales the base mode FOR legend scales figures?
It’s not bad as an octane kinda wish they included some of the toy colour details to brighten things up maybe something around the waist and white parts of the arms, the truck does look nice and the plane is meh feels a little unpolished compared to the others, I’m looking for one to complete the trio to have a nice set of legends triple changes for the wee man shelf
Okay I'm so curious, and haven't seen anybody else asking but the background music in this series has been absolutely wonderful, does anybody know what it is?
Hey Doc, consider your a legion scale expert...out of curiosity , whats the ...how to say , a master class to a legian scale , so small and heavy engineer that need small tool to convert betwin modes ?
Yeah, obviously anybody can like what they like. But yeah, especially in robot mode. There's one that looks like the character and one that doesn't it's not even close
I'm one of the ones still waiting for the Hasbro version because my Titans Returns version is garbage - the truck cab refuses to stay together. If they weren't going for accuracy I would hope for the Deluxe upsized - but if Hasbro at least copies this MechFans one I would be definitely happy - just fix the issues you have with it.
I don’t know I think this thing looks great genuinely I have the kfc one and it’s just kinda janky it doesn’t work very well all the modes are kinda compromised but this one looks really good in each mode at least in my opinion especially for a legends figure this figure actually borrows a lot from the kfc one in its transformation
this cheers me up after finding out one of my mates is leaving this world before hes 25…

@@grimlocktheking2010I’m so sorry that happened I hope you’re feeling a little better
Unbelievably sorry to hear that, that sucks
Im sorry that happened, friend. much love from a stranger that cares.

Only the comics have the autobot trio as a group in the wreckers
I do hope he shows up someday soon in Generations.

God I love Octane.
Octane gang
The titans return version Is overshadowed by the laser Optimus prime re-paint.
Actually, prime released before octane, so technically it's the other way around
Octane (Octone? did they get the name back?) is actually my favorite of the decepticon triple changers. Looking forward to seeing what they do with him in mainline.

More than planning. In the process of. Just waiting on the last three members to drop
Octane's alt modes during the scale comparisons really makes me think:

There's three on the market right now and they're all roughly leader size.
Ah yes, the best triple changer.
It's kind of interesting that the kfc octane does something very similar with the cab in jet mode
We need this but upscaled
I'm not a fan of legends figures because I'm worry about how fragile it is
This is anything but fragile. Solid as a rock
If I could ask, how is the conversion of the Titans Returns Octane? I am a major Transformation enjoyer, so i'm curious ^^
Pretty good. Nothing crazy, but reasonably fun
THE WHAT!?!? 11:03
i think he has a charm for the size since i do own it

Hello big rigs
Octane isn't even the last one to come out. The order was astrotrain, then octane, then blitzwing being the last one.
Not from where I bought them from
@DrLockdown understandable. The first two did get a reissue later on, which then changed the order if that's what the suppliers get.
I preordered all three on a local Aussie site, so I just got them as they came.
@@DrLockdown was it around 2020? I believe that was when astrotrain first came out.
I got zero guesses for the full review. Is it DNA Wheelie and Spike? NewAge Straxus?
I would like to cover Straxus someday, but I ran out of space and I already did newage prime earlier this month
@ is newage straxus worse than zeta superitron (not in terms of disappointment, cuz obviously it’s straxus, cuz zeta’s always sucked)
Wouldn't go that far. It's differently bad
my money's on doubledealer
I did get the generations Octane and I agree that he is a pretty fun figure would like to get the tr version one day
Is that big rigs on the tv?
Yes
@@DrLockdownwonderful choice for a background video
Alright!
Okay I'm so curious, and haven't seen anybody else asking but the background music in this series has been absolutely wonderful, does anybody know what it is?
Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition, colony 9 theme
@DrLockdown yesss thank you so much!
Someone knows how it’s called that Legends War Within Optimus?
IDW stormbringer actually. It's from iron factory
Hey Doc, consider your a legion scale expert...out of curiosity , whats the ...how to say , a master class to a legian scale , so small and heavy engineer that need small tool to convert betwin modes ?
I'm...not too sure. I'm better at reviewing toys than designing them I'm afraid
Yeah, obviously anybody can like what they like. But yeah, especially in robot mode. There's one that looks like the character and one that doesn't it's not even close
If i would redesign octane, ill turn him into a smaller private jet like
