- Welcome! Thanks for being here. In this video I really wanted to spread the word across the whole of the diecast community and put together an ultimate "how to" guide explaining in FULL detail, exactly how to buy Hot Wheels from the Amazon Japan website and hopefully save YOU a ton of money too.
Please note that it is essential that you pay close attention to all the pro tips and tricks outlined in this video tutorial. Stay safe online fellow diecast collector and remember to be smart with all of your online orders and treat your bank accounts with respect : )
My overall experience from using the Amazon Japan website was a VERY positive one. So much so that I HAD to make this video for your viewing pleasure and to help you decide whether or not you think that buying Hot Wheels from Amazon Japan is good value for you. I have ordered quite a lot from amazon japan and noticed that the delivery is faster when you place the order on Sunday or Monday, usually DHL delivers the packages then by Friday for sure. The delivery fee depends greatly from store to store, so ordering items only from one store is usually cheaper even if you could get some items with slightly lower prices from another amazon japan seller. Funny note: with my last order I had almost all the same cars that you showed in your video ;)

I think essentially here, it’s up to you to decide if the price per car is worth it to you and if you can’t get your hands on something in store then perhaps paying a little bit more and adding it to your collection is “worth it” there are lots of products that Mattel don’t even sell here in the UK so I’m a big Amazon Japan fanboy for sure! Hello! Great to see you here. Thanks for awesome comment too. So, as a guide here’s what I have noticed. Approximately… shipping starts at around £30GBP for me or similar. And then as you add say a second car. The shipping goes up by £3 or there abouts. So like most websites “the more you buy the more you save” is how it works. Does that make sense? Hope I explained that clearly. It definitely makes more sense in my head if I get say 5, 6 or 7 things in one order. It’s not worth it for one car as you can imagine. I purchased a car culture chase from Amazon at a normal ebay price. Boy was I mad when it showed up at my door in a BAG! Needless to say, the card was all bent and wrinkled. Sent it back the same day. 😂
That’s wild! You were certainly brave to trust Amazon with a chase. I’m sure it came from a semi decent seller on there that knows about the Diecast hobby but I’d only trust professional and trustworthy websites with a chase order. Cool story though and thanks for the heads up too! You’re right to leave this comment as perhaps Amazon orders aren’t the safest but sometimes you don’t have a choice either lol. I’ve checked the prices for premium on Amazon jp, some premium cars cost only 700 yen which is adorable,But the majority of the car culture aren’t cheap. Is hot wheels that kind of expensive in UK?😢 I am In Australia and you can find any main line cars for 2 dollars everywhere.
Thanks for stopping by the video. Hope you’re doing great today. You are indeed very lucky the toy can find any mainline basic car for 2 dollars. That’s so lucky! I can also see why lots of people including a couple of my friends have moved to Australia! I must visit one day. Amazon Japan is very beneficial for certain collectors for sure. And yes it does depend where you live in the world. My advice is to add about 8-10 things into your basket and then once you can see a total. Before clicking buy. Take that total amount in your currency and divide it by how many cars you’re buying in total. That price per car will help you to decide if your basket total is even worth it. For example. We don’t get premium 2 packs in the UK and some silver series products too. So yeah. The more expensive stuff is what to go for. I’d never buy mainline basics cars from Amazon Japan. Hi....... am from India , it's been soo hard for me to collect hotwheels recently we are not getting any cars for months all the stores and malls are empty and if we go look up online it's like 2,000 rupees(20 pounds) for just a single mainline car, as a college student i cant afford those. Is there any way you could help us......and by the way you have great talent in video making you make these videos like a pro...

That is really really crazy. Wow. I would suggest that you use google and also instagram to look for an online retailer that will ship to your location and hopefully you can find somewhere that will charge a more sensible price for you. Living in the UK there are also Hot Wheels products I cannot buy and I use friendly and helpful online dealers to help me : ) I hope this helps and that you can add more awesome cars to your collection. not really a bargain, most stuff on there you can get it from mainland as well for about the same prices if you know where to look and the shipping costs are killing it.
Which country are you in? I saw a comment yesterday and I think someone wanted to buy one car. Amazon Japan certainly makes things better for collectors outside the US for sure and it’s that whole “the more you buy the more you save” thing going on when you think about the weighty shipping charge. Premium car its 5 euro in japan and shipping is 18 euro to spain, not worth.
Yes, buying one car will be pricy. That’s why in my video I recommend doing the maths per car. The more you buy the more you save, but I appreciate that not everyone will by 10 cars at once. However. I've only seen a few decent amazon cars that I don't already have.
I mentioned in another comment that I’ve found myself hopping onto Amazon Japan quite regularly now as out of stock pieces randomly show back in stock and you have to act fast! I’m sure you know what online shopping can be like. @@customcollects yeah out of country prices are not so good but I was in France to collect hot wheels. I was lucky to find a couple. As of now, distribution is easy and plenty of hot wheels dual packs are starting to stay on the pegs. However, Mattel had an issue with shipping some dual packs back in September 2023. Not enough production was made for the skyline/Supras and mustangs packs
Most of the cars that are most collectible around the world are peg warmers in the USA, that’s what comes from America getting all the cars while other countries only get a tiny selection.
Hope you can get your hands on more of the product you want to add to your collection bro. I love Paris! Great for shopping :D
For sure this video helps out international collectors more but if you can't find something then sometimes if you really want it then paying a little extra is okay. I bought before but the packaging was simply rubbish, they just threw everything into a big box like yours without wrapping or any protective packaging and many mainlines were damaged. You were lucky yours wasn’t damaged.
@jondoeami You’re right that I have been lucky with my delivery. It’s always risky buying hot wheels online if you expect to receive perfect cards and blisters. I’ve bought online in the UK and received some horrible cracked blisters. Japan IS a few thousand miles from my house so I can forgive a few small imperfects to the cards, especially as I open 90% of everything I buy. The more comments I read the more I understand that this video helps international hot wheels collectors way more than those based in the USA. If you can’t find it anywhere and you don’t mind the price then it’s worth it. But for you I’d stick to trusted online sellers based in America. There are so many websites based in the US that I wish I could buy from but the postage costs are sky high! Do you ever buy online for your collection? Which websites do you use?

It’s definitely one of those “shut up and take my money” situations as you can find really cool cars on there. I like to set a budget and stick to it : ) it’s far too easy to go crazy and then just have a deep breath for every meal until the next pay day LOL! Life is great when your a Hot Wheels collector living in the USA, right? however, for me, living in England, Hot Wheels Premium 2 packs aren’t sold in any store. We don’t have 2 packs :,(
@@customcollectsoh yeah, that makes sense. But we still have people who sell at ridiculous prices. There’s a store who was selling the White HKS RX-7 for 25-30 dollars. Someone from offer up was selling it for 10
@@masterchief272 It's not available to buy on Amazon Japan anymore but I saw that exact same car from Mattel selling for £3-4 so maybe $5. I've made a 3rd purchase from AJ now and found that you need to order 10-15 premium cars to make it more worthwhile. Thanks again for the cool comment. That RX-7 is very cool.
