Bitter gourd is one of my favorite vegetables. It is unappreciated here in the United States. Your stuffed bitter gourd curry looks amazing and the moju made my mouth water. Beautiful presentation with the yellow rice. As always, your videos make me long for Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan rice and curry. Nothing else compares.

This is one of my favorite dishes, I cook it with coconut milk and make a curry and it is so yummy. Your version looks very delicious also. 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve never cooked bitter gourd before but it does grow here where I am. Do you do anything to get bitterness out first or do you cook it as is?
@@pollyangel8564 Actually that is why I cooked it with coconut milk because it takes away the bitterness and it is very creamy. You can soak it with some salt for about 15 -20 mins after that time squeeze the liquid out of the bitter gourd and it should be fine. There are different kinds -- white flesh ones, the smooth skin ones and the indian ones. I find the indian ones to be more bitter but there are all very healthy.

I like this dish very much. Also I learned this plant is good for liver detoxification from co- Worker of Philippine. She cooked without coconut milk. My grandfather grew this plant in the front flower garden for view but
no one ever cooked it in South Korea but egg plants- pepper- lettuce- pumpkins.
