- One of the Original Latin Kings of Comedy, Alex Reymundo is a Mexican-American comedian and actor who also starred in 2 of his own one-hour comedy specials for Showtime, "Hick-Spanic": Live in Albuquerque and "Red-Nexican". Alex also hosted Showtime's, "The Original Latin Divas of Comedy," "The Payaso Comedy Slam" and is featured in this set from "Legally Brown". In 2008 Alex won an ALMA Award for “Outstanding Comedy Special” for his one-hour comedy special Hick-Spanic. I saw him open for Ron White about 8 years ago. Yeah, he was funny. I found out later during the meet and greet with Ron that Alex's parents lived on my street at the time. 🤣

Growing up on Fort Worth's Northside, near the Swift and Armour plants, most of my neighbors were Mexican. Sweet families, hard workers, faithful Catholics, and proud proud Americans. They may be poor, but whatever they have they have earned it from their own hard work.

My great grandparents came from Mexico with 4 children. Great grandad told the family they were Americans now and that’s how they should act. He said you don’t go into your neighbors house and act like it’s yours. Living in someone else’s home you live by the rules. My grandmother pass this to me. She was a proud American that came from Mexico. But I’m too damn white to be acknowledged. I miss Mexican food on Christmas.
