About the mahogany walls: First and foremost I'm going to say I am one that can appreciate the mahogany walls and other original eichler features. However, if it's MY eichler home I'm personally going to completely modernize it and paint over it because that's what I like. The addition: I think it's brilliant, it makes this specific home special and unique to other original eichler layouts. Susan-Have you toured the one and only one eichler condos in Santa Clara?
That is totally valid. The wood is certainly a color choice. What you actually could do is carefully remove the original mahogany, and offer it for sale to an enthusiast that is trying to do a complete original reno. That would actually pay for the paint job. Win-win

Someone went full faux Lautner on that addition. Im cool with it.
😆 Thank you for the name drop! Yes they did.
I wanted to ask if it would be sacrilege to paint all the walls white. I'm not a fan of wooden walls.
Nope, nope if something works don't fix it. Leave the mahogany alone.
And what do you think about the round addition?
